Climbling Mount Everest is no joke and she deserved every applause and medal. Most of the Sherpas are from Tibet namely the famous Tenzin Norgay. And I believe there are other Tibetan woman mountaineer. One is Lhakpa Sherpa, who scaled Everest 10 times.

Dechen Dolma is hero དཔའ་བོ་ for Tibetans. Tenzin Norgye (born in Phaduk, Tingri area) climbed in 1954.
Gonpo Dorjee (born in Surtso, Tingri area) climbed Mt Everest in 1961 or 1962. These two famous climbers were both natives of Tingri region. Norgye & Dorjee climbed south & north face respectively. Woh
