    I have a 1992 s10 blazer I don’t know how to make the a/c come out the vents but air comes out of defrost and bottom vent

      Sounds like you got a bad vacuum thing under the dash or a bad broken vacuum line. Check the vacuum lines.

    Good Vid, I Got a Problem with My 91 4x4, Vacumn Control Hose thru the firewall is broke Some where ???, (Found that Out from a Medium) & as I Take the Dash Control Unit Out Find Out That the Hose cluster is too damn Short To Pull the Unit Out to have easy access to tap In a Whole New vacumn feeder Hose to It, Plus another nipple fitting on unit is Broke so SOL On that Project. Thusly Decided To Just try To Mechanically Over-ride The whole unit So I have winter heat In COOL MINN Winter temps. I want to wire open which ever door ways to have continual Heat & & Dispersed variously to all of Defroster & floor Vent Continually. & with Bad back & Arthritus, Laying & taking trial & error things apart doesnt work real well. Some one help with which Ones to wire So I dont have to waste trial & error time on "Researching" The issues? Thanx

      What I did was un-hooked the vacuum lines from the blend door parts. Have to label them since I didn't and I had them mixed up. That will give plenty of slack to pull it out of the dash. Be careful since the heat/cold slider is very flimsy and if you take it out it will break the clip for sure. I had to go to the u pull it yard many many times to find stuff. These parts are real hard to find. The hose does seem universal and can probably find something to replace it with. Good Luck.

    So there is no way to remove/inspect the flapper/actuator that controls the floor/vent air flow. I have a/c that goes to the floor super strong and can go to defrost super strong but it barely comes out of the vents in the middle.

      You should be able to remove the plastic piece at the bottom and then use a phone record and see if the flapper is moving or see if the plastic piece is broken as mine was. This is for an S10 or similar model.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Has to be the small plastic piece that is probably broken. Need to check it out tho. 2 metal pieces connected with plastic. Not going to last. Let me know what you find. Thanks for the sub.

    Ok I have a 92 s10. Just dumped 400 into it for all new stuff so it can have some ac. New lines compressor condenser and accumulator. But only the floor vent and windshield defrost vents work. No other vent works. It does switch from ac to heat but that all. So what should I do or be looking for to fix that?

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The door vent sounds like it's stuck or not working at all. You can remove the 2 screws that hold the piece of plastic that is on the floor right behind where the shifter is if its a standard. Can see if the flapper is jammed or stuck. The blend door actuator is right on the left side and it has that long screw and its attached with a plastic part that always breaks. I would bet its stuck in the defrost mode which closes everything else.

      @@barrysauce it's an automatic. Yea I took some of the plastic off the under side of the dash before and tried to manually move the door flap. Did nothing.

      @@TheKwispyOne can you feel air blowing out of it? I had to redo and clean up all of mine. May have to check vacuum hoses. If you can feel air them for sure it's a blend door vacuum pump that is bad. Thats what it sounds like.

      @@barrysauce right now air blows out of floor vent and defrost. Took under side of dash apart and part of glove box apart. The actuator for heat and air is working cause I can see the lever moving. Now I'm working towards finding the actuator for the vents. I think its behind the radio somewhere on my truck.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here look at this. I think this is what is happening. This should give you an idea of what one it is. I think you have to take the dash apart unless you can get to the vacuum on the upper left side. There are 2 of them on mine but could be different on yours. th-cam.com/video/oMxCXeqAsZw/w-d-xo.html
      Thats when I removed the dash and I realized I had to remove the brake and lower the steering column just to remove the defroster vent. The flapper that I push a view times is your issue I believe. That vacuum hose could have just got unplugged or the hose is leaking somewhere.

    So do you have heat blowing out the main vents. When I have mine on heat it just blows out if the floor.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes in the previous video you commented on I replied a few times and I never got a reply and I explained how to fix it and what to do. The flapper or the door vent or blend door on the floor is not moving since the plastic part breaks after 30 years.

    • @rustwarrior6524

      barry k. Right I actually found a clip and the flap door is working. It’s the other door that close on the heater setting and then opens on vent and a/c settings. I was wondering if maybe I have the vacuum switch wrong or if in the heater setting it does blow out of the top main events

    So I’m about repair mine as well. What size nut did you use on the rod and do you mind if I link your video in the description of a video I’m doing on my s10?

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but ya have to give me sometime. Have to go to lowes or something that has that wall mounted piece of hardware so when you bring in a nut or bolt you can find out what size it is. I found a spare vacuum blend door part that had the cotter pin and the nut so I can toss a quick video up to assist.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The nut is 10-24 . Can get them at any hardware store for cheap.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me know if that helps. I have a short video but don't think its needed. I have an extra part and I take that to Lowes and put it in that part on the wall that measures the nuts and bolts so you can see what size it is.
