Should I Buy This 40 Year Old Bike To Fix Up?

- My co workers dad isn't in great health so I'm deciding to buy this 50 year old bike to fix up for fun. My uncle might get it or I might get it and fix it up for my gf to have her have a bike to learn on. I need your help deciding weather to buy this bike or not.

If it's Under a $1k Plan on $5k-$6K to restore it. If your lucky and can do all the labor minus machining yourselves. I think that would give you a Rebuilt Restored New nicely done Paint, New Seat of Excellent Quality. Complete Rebuild of the Engine and Trans. New gaskets Bearing Rings a Valve Job and new Improved Cams and Chains and Exhaust. Basically a New Restored Bike anyone would be Proud to own. New Tires and Possibly even a Fat tire, Chain Drive Kit. And a Lot of Hours. No it will not be returned in a Resale. Unless you find and NBA/NFL/NHL Player or a Rock Star, that will pay you.

A Magna is an awesome bike but not a good starter bike if you like your girlfriend. It sounds like a fun project if you like to wrench.

They are the biltwell exfil-36 they are pretty good bags I like them pretty well I need a new exhaust because I burn through the bottom of one. But I have that all planned out.
