- Visiting Jason Revok's studio as he prepares a body of assemblage work for an upcoming show.
For the last 25 years, Revok has been considered one of
the most prolific and respected graffiti writers in the world.
With the immense notoriety came attention from law enforcement.
In the late 2000’s, he was arrested and incarcerated
on three different occasions in three different countries, partially as an act of attempting to set an example, and who better than one of the largest names in graffiti.
Revok, now a celebrated and internationally exhibited artist,
prepares for a solo show in his hometown of Los Angeles.
His process, especially that with his table saw use, captivated me. His risk tolerance, while also being precise, clearly had carried over from graffiti.
Glad to see ol' Revok happy and evolving with his art. 👑
Anybody who says Revok is a sellout can catch these hands. He's right, man. After a while it is juvenile. Im only 32, but I've recently returned to graffiti bc I'm having a midlife crisis and Im having a real hard time accepting the fact that 40 is right around the corner. Im trying so hard to hold on to my youth, but deep down I know this cant go on much longer. I have to grow the fuck up. I've got a good career, im self-sufficient, have financial freedom and take care of my mom, etc. After years of just adulting and doing the same shit every day life became so bland that I seriously contemplated just offing myself. Graffiti may have been a fucking hailmary but for the first time in a while I feel alive and young. At the same time I also wake up in the morning feeling like a piece of shit even if I was having the time of my life the night before. It's different doing graffiti while older... I dont know how long I'll keep this up, but for now Im having fun. Obviously I dont see myself being out here and doing this forever, although my love and appreciation for graffiti will last forever.
I'm the same age as you. I returned to it because everything else is so lame and boring (including people). And i really have nothing else in my life that makes me feel so good as this. Honestly, i never see myself ever stopping.
Love Revok.. he's definitely one of my top 3 favorite artists of all time if not number 1.. legend right there!

I remember that coffee shop in Detroit that had Revok fine art. He has really come along way with his art. Always wanted to bench one of his trains. I have seen pics before but never one in person.

With that being said, REVOK needs a documentary written and narrated by him or some fucking fresh interviews in 2023. Someone hit up ADAM22 CUH. Dude is definitely smart whether he comes from an educated background or not. I could listen to homie talk for hours the same way I can listen to Sufer MTA talk for hours. These dudes are just legendary and if you hear them speak you'll realize why. The wisdom and life experience just pours out of them.

i don´t care about the person, I was thinking about the artist. Revok was one of the most innovative and fresh graffiti artist that I know, and my curiosity comes from "what kind of art he is doing now" but , thanks for the advice@@YouCanChangeYourWorldToday

Revok says this but new graffiti of his pops up here and there lol. Looks like he'll hit a city to do a legal production and he cant resist that nice wall on the other side of the street lol. Definitely not doing it like he used to, but he blesses us with a piece here and there!!!!
