Very interesting video and topic ! The PBS-1 is a very iconic supressor, nice to have the background and the history about it.
I have the image of a Spetsnaz guy with an AKMS and PBS-1, so cool!

Hello fellow gun enthusiasts, I am French too and I recently got the privilege to manipulate this piece of Russian military technologie history. If we unscrew it, we can see a centimeter thick rubber disc through wich the projectile is pushed out of the barrell. Very impressive.

Do you know anything about the Alien Gun? I fired from it 7 days ago! With a quick shot at 20 m, I made a group with a diameter of about 10 cm! Incredibly good gun! But also incredibly expensive! 🍻

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The Alien gun? If it is the one from Aliens then it is a thompson .45 smg inside a plastic chassi system.

Looking forward to it. I have the Dead Air one that looks similar but have always thought that the originals were super interesting. Currently I’m playing with an original PBS-1 rear sight and subs to try and get that to work with the trajectories of the subsonics. Check out my Instagram for picture updates. Once I figure it out I’d love to make a video or publish a table in English if the new production subsonic 196gr ammo doesn’t line up, but I’m thinking that it should.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That seems similar to the original subsonic load, that was 194gr @ ~980fps out of an AKM. I am not interested in actually using subs in my AK since it is hard to get it to cycle reliably. I have my .300blk for that. But it is fun to test it. 👍

    • @operator1192
      @operator1192 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@ yeah I know what you mean. I love the 300Blk as it was purpose built to do both reliably but there is something definitely satisfying about making some covert Cold War technology work fairly well. The commercial loading is kind of expensive and I’d rather reload but out of about 200 rounds so far I’ve only had one malfunction with the commercial stuff, definitely not as reliable supersonic 7.62x39mm but pretty decent for quiet plinking.

What do modern Russian army use for 7.62x39?

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Oh, I know. That is where I got my suppressor. But it is very awkward to import stuff from them unfortunately. And making my own is still cheaper and probably better.

hi, is it difficult to get weapons in Sweden? I am a sports shooter in Germany and here you can shoot at shooting ranges with your own weapons. do you have to be a hunter in Sweden? What are the hurdles to legally getting weapons? Thanks very much

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hunters can get typical hunting weapons. Sport shooters can get any semi autos handguns and some machineguns, collectors can get anything. The police are usually not that happy to give out a licence for full auto though. I only have one. Check out my channel for examples if curious 👍🏻

behöver man inte licens för ljuddämpare? eller finns det ett sätt runt det?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Än så länge behöver man licens. Men det verkar som det snart kommer räcka med licens för ett vapen för att köpa dämpare för det. (edit: jag har licens för denna naturligtvis).
