Seeing how Sigurd has been heavily promoted in these videos makes me think an FE4 remake might happen. It's surprising they would choose to focus on Sigurd over Roy, Ike and Lucina otherwise.
Yeah, I noticed as much. I want an Elibe remake myself, but Sigurd's spotlight make it look more possible for a Genealogy remake to be coming soon, with or without Thracia 776.
The fact that they picked Sigurd over Seliph, the person who actually ended the war, is another reason I feel like an fe4 remake may be coming. Like they want to introduce people to the first guy you'll see rather than the one who won ,,,

I'm scared the Emblems may be a tad bit too strong, but the game looks phenomenal nonetheless. They still need to show Ike, Roy, Leif, Lucina, Micaiah and Eirika.

All these abilities are so cool! I especially love that Corrin brings back the terrain alteration mechanic of Fates that I think could have been so much more. It doesn't seem like the Rescue or Shove mechanics have come back, which is unfortunate imo, but I'm super excited regardless!

On the other hand I’m glad we’re back to a single story game, I liked Fates and TH but I felt like having several paths hindered the storytelling significantly, hope this one’s good.

I love how the mechanic itself works. I'm not a fan of the rings being previous FE characters, but it seems to be trying to win those who may recognize the characters from Heroes or Smash.
I think it's smart, get these out there for new players, get interest growing, release remakes of old FE games= profit.
If I recall correctly, a previous leak or released interview said that this game was meant to be THE anniversary game, so it makes sense that they bring back characters from the series. It’s especially cool to be getting new/updated 3D art for old characters as well as voices.

I'm happy Lyn made it in. Fire Emblem 7 (the first US release of the series) is what first introduced me to the series.

I for one don’t think the concept is a problem and don’t think it’s something only reserved or should only be included in a spin-off type of setting.

@@worldsboss Considering that Sigurd's been having a surprising amount of spotlight with Engage (like, he gets a spotlight here over the likes of Ike or Lucina), my gut feeling says a Genealogy remake will come first (thoguh I can't be certain if they will merge Thracia 776 with it or not). Elibe would likely have to wait a bit longer.
As an initial hater of the idea gotta say it honestly looks pretty cool. The art style is growing on me too, clean lines and bright colours. Hope they pull through with the 3d textures though

I gotta say, the gameplay aspect of the Emblems is fantastic. This will open up so many unique strategies, I'm really excited on the gameplay of Engage!
I wasn't sure about this game when I first saw toothpaste-chan, but now I am the most hyped for release that I've been since Awakening.
FE always has great music, but the soundtrack for this game is crazy! Let’s gooo!

The battalion mechanic in Three Houses was also overpwered, to the point you HAD to rise charm stats to win with them in Maddening.

It's always fun to look at voice casts; Fire Emblem has done its share of "recycling" lol. Like how Matt Mercer voiced both Chrom (Awakening) and Ryoma (Fates). It's pretty funny to hear them talk to each other in the (non canon) crossover Warriors game.
I always liked Spike Spencer better as Marth/Mars. He voiced him in the short lived 90s anime.

I actually avoided most of the marketing for One Piece Odyssey since I knew I was going to play it at some point but unlike with Engage I didn’t need to hear more than the fact that it’s a One Piece game and it was made by the team behind dragon quest.
Fire emblem was always my favorite game when I was young. I love this game.
Had my concerns initially, but I gotta say this is looking dope! The colors and vibrance are great and the visuals look fantastic

I was always more partial to Alm over Celica and Hector over Eliwood over Lyndis. But they’re all great.

It's pretty nuts how close we are to release now! I'm still undecided on this new emblem ring feature, but as a Fire Emblem fan, I can't wait to give this game a try!

It's also not just a copypasta with all the Emblems - they all have different boosts and skills that are a nod to them which is really neat. They have really thought this through and made it something special and unique.
The gameplay of this game seems so fun and also challenging, giving us so many different strategies with all these Emblems' unique abilities combining with the new characters
I'm really looking forward to playing this, as well as meeting the couple other Emblems we haven't seen yet!

Okay NOW they have my attention. Story looks pretty good. Character designs are unique. And I like the whole sync system & abilities. Just might cop.
I can't believe that the only Three Houses unit that can't become a dancer, is now our main dancer in Engage.
I like that characters hair changes color when engaged. You can see it really clearly when Alear engages with Byleth and the blue in her hair becomes purple.
My fav part was when Marth said "its engaging time". Poor Marth can't get a break.
It’s really nice that they’re adding water to Corrin as a character. It was implied in fates but never used.
Looks promising. Multiple Emblem combinations is a great idea in my opinion (But when done right).

Wow, very dynamic and different the effects of the rings. Plus I need more Lyn in my life. I’m curious if they gonna offer new effects other than these showed, like Lyn using the Mani Katti and not just the bow.
based on the trailers and some short videos on JP twitter, its confirmed that is the case. every "emblem" will bring with them several weapon that your character and the emblem could use. sigurd have been seen attacking using Lance and Sword which are both canon. byleth even bring Creator sword and Aymr (edelgard axe) so Lyn should bring both Mulagier Bow and Mani katti too
I also hope they showcase some of Byleth's divine weapons in his skillset. So far, it looks like they just turned him into a souped-up dancer/singer unit.
Worry not, people have spotted both Failnaught and Amyr as weapons so far, as well as I think the gauntlets from the Wolves DLC? (I could be wrong on that last one, but he did have some kind of gauntlet looking weapon that looked like the relic!) Check the little bottom inventory bar in the Byleth battle sections. : D

Lets not overlook all of the issues FE3H had that this game might also suffer.
@@techpriest6962 everything we’ve seen thus far leads me to believe that engage will be quite different from 3H while still maintaining the great quality of life improvements. So it’s highly unlikely it will suffer from any of the issues, but time will tell. Despite how unique 3H is I still really enjoyed it. So much good with just a little bad here and there. Engage will probably be similar. I’m just glad we’re getting another mainline from fe game in the series.
@@cd4playa1245 I'm more so talking about the elements of FE3H that were clearly rushed with incomplete story lines. Where we saw pretty obvious plot gaps where it was apparent content should have been in paths like Crimson Flower, Church, and the Golden Deer.
Otherwise FE3H was a great idea, 2 of my favorite FE characters are from the title.
I am very critical, because if they sold one incomplete game. It wouldn't shock me if they did it again.
Byleth's skill references the White Heron Cup (the way to unlock Dancer class in Three Houses which gives units an extra turn in battle). Other than that this looks very promising I like it ^^
Herons in Tellius also had AoE Dance as an ability. The best Laguz species. I mean, specifically, it was Rafiel who could/can AoE Dance people around him (one in each adjacent square), though.

Seeing Sigurd gives me hope they are going to reboot the holy war game like they did with echoes and actually bring that game here. I just hope they have hard and classic modes available still because casual mode removes the strategy from these strategy games.
apparently the leak confirming this game with the cursed screenshot about colgate fire emblem mentioend FE4 being a thing coming late 2023 or early 2024... letting me wonder who's developing it because it needs alot of resources and care to make that game whole and polishing it up. It would be SO funny if Shouzo Kaga from ye ol' FE days of the 90s is back in the buisness again after his Vesparia Saga storyline.
I know everyone hates the protagonist’s design because lit looks like a Colgate clown but I honestly kinda like it.
I can't speak for everyone else, but the reason why I don't like the design is because the colours clash really badly, and there doesn't seem to be any explainable reason as to why they have to look like that. It just feels really random for the sake of being random.
It is Joycon colors and everyone have bad memory of them drifting. Well, it is hard to accept because it is a 'new' direction. I think it is the first time FE use radiant colors for everything. They usually have this grey-ash color filter so the sky is never that shining bright blue.
It is hard to accept new stuff basically. Not to add how older FE player love their political story while Engage looks anything but that. Impression-wise, the story premise looks like FE Fates so it just rings some bad alarm.
@@HadeaRin I love how colourful the world and environments are. The visuals are absolutely stunning, in fact. It's just the main character's design that doesn't sit right with me.
The main design has grown on me but not most of the side characters.

They have this hair because Alear was evil but he awoke as a good Guy, probably when he find his way as a good guy his hair will turn full blue, you can even see a flashback (or maybe a future since it is possible a bad ending too) where Alear is with a full red in burning ruins
This game is going to be awesome with all this new mechanics, can't wait to go pick up my collectors edition on January

Glad that it seems the emblems will really only be essential in clearing map hazards. They look like they'll make the game too easy, but if I can choose to only use them in desperate situations that should make the game more challenging and fun.
Apparently from reviews the game will encourage using more complex abilities since this was something people complained about in 3 houses
Looks so much better than three houses and I'm glad it's back to single units

Same. It’s like 90% of the new characters have autism, and they’re all v tubers. I adore fire emblem, but the aesthetics are way out of left field. It just doesn’t belong in this franchise. At all. Corrin and Marth are going to try and really carry this game, lmao.

I'm just happy the maps have choke points again, that was something that was lacking in Three Houses.
That's cause 3H had Divine Pulse so there was no need to checkpoint. This game doesn't have a rewind feature.
