@@HTV-2_Hypersonic_Glide_Vehicle awesome yea dude Dallas is growing we about to surpass Chicago as the 3rd largest metro. Wish they would fix fort worth
Never heard of this Day 1 name but originally it was called Smart District and would have included the tallest skyscraper in the USA outside of Chicago and NYC. At 1121ft it would have towered over anything in California and would have had a taller Roof height than Phillys new Comcast tower. It could still be built.
@@LordWinter1222 It is a FACT buddy. Dallas does not even feature top 10 in the list of Skyscrapers or High-Rise. Dallas is very sprawling. Small metro areas like San Fransisco, Philadelphia, Atlanta have more buildings than Dallas. Calgary in Canada ( a city of only 1 million vs 7 million in Dallas) has more more skyscrapers in its downtown core. Google it , google the skyline.
Dhom I know what you mean but Texas cities like Austin and Dallas are growing at such a fast rate that eventually downtown would build in that direction
So they can offer Amazon $1.2 billion $1,200,000,000.00 in incentives but the city does not have money to fix streets? Pay for more Firemen and Cops that are badly needed? Fix their pension ? Raise First responders salaries?
@@californiamade5608 dallas needs to stop being sleepy and catch up with every other major us city, they’re just constantly building small apartment buildings instead of actual skyscrapers that would change the skyline greatly
What I heard is that Amazon will not create new jobs, just import existing employees and are not willing to pay certain taxes, I don't know the specifics but New York rejected them for reasons similar to that. They'll create more traffic and get wealthier while Dallas pays and suffers the costs.
It would have been better for Amazon than for Dallas had they located there. Texas is very business friendly and is growing. I think they decided on Virginia right out of DC. Not a terrible choice either but I think I would have chosen Texas or Florida.
In the future when more of our buildings look similar then it wouldn’t look ugly it’s how every big major city evolved and if it even gets built or something like it gets built in the future it’ll probably grow on us in a couple years

We need taller highrise buildings
Because everything is bigger in Texas!
@@1986-e3s I've been to Houston and Chicago i love Chicago skyline
Well Dallas is actually planning on beginning construction of two buildings one of which will be the tallest in the city

JasnoGT soo.... what’s the status on it so far.

This should still be built. It's beautiful!
It cannot ruin the skyline
Dallas is getting bigger!!!!!!!!
Dallas is already very very big. For a metro of 7 million people -- the skyline is POOR.

They aren't offering money.... They are providing a coupon for paying taxes. Do you understand the difference?
Pensions are a scam. Only a fool will depend on a traditional pension for retirement

We took a fat L on this idgaf about the tax money taken it would’ve expanded our skyline and gave us a more infamous look with our rising sports teams
They heard about Dallas city council corruption
Of course they did. I'm shocked there isn't a documentary on how mismanaged our city has become

Dallas dodged a major bullet by not getting Amazon!

Glad they didn't come. Garbage. I do like the idea of a new skycraper.
The Amazon HQ2 looks like a miniature Oklahoma City
Is Amazon going to build their business in Dallas?
Becky's Balcony, sadly Dallas didn’t have enough tech workers so amazon didnt pick dallas
Aaron Lopez really? I think Dallas has a lot of tech people. We have Texas Instruments here
