I'm 65 now and I threw many quarters into the jukebox at the local poolhall while playing foosball. Over and over and over when it first came out. Memories 💜
Chris, I love the original but just heard a cover by The Dirty Pigeons, which I have played about a trillion times. Please watch it, if only as a favor to someone you don't know.
Perfect tempo - on the mark! And almost perfected the drum solo, which is nearly impossible. Note also the bass player TUNING the bass as he's playing. He knows that's actually what happened on the studio recording. Great!
My personal favorite is, at least the last time I looked, not on TH-cam or Spotify, probably some copyright bullshit...but it's by Tripping Daisies, from The Craft soundtrack.
Wow great job, as a fan of Harry I wholeheartedly approve. back in the day I was just turning 16 when Schmilsson first came out, amongst all the great music on that album was this song, I couldn't get enough of it, lift the needle and drop it back down over and over. Sitting in my bedroom playing my acoustic trying to find that savage little riff with my then cowboy chords, once I really learned my fret board the song came together for me, never played it in a band setting though as I never played with a singer who could do the outro nor a drummer that could play the break with any real consistency. That cover was real fire boy's.
Holy shit! I never dreamed that anyone could possibly match the power of the original: one of the most amazing performances ever put on vinyl. But these guys did it, jumped right into to the fire and took everybody in there with them. Fantastic!
Being a bass player, I have to say that the bass player here has the sound just right for a live show !! Bravo ! And, nice detuning during the song....just like the record !
Never heard this song before until this weeks tv drama.the serpent on bbc i player. Now i LOVE IT.the original is amazing, but this version is pure class.should be viewed by thousands!!!! Well done gents!!!
Those aren't musicians, they're just terrible people. My guess is the drummer was the first to veto, and I wouldn't blame them. I watched a drum cover of this the other day, guy almost had a heart attack by the end.
@@D-Fens_1632 it's been my experience that if a drummer has issues with this song or YYZ then perhaps it's time for physical therapy coupled with strenuous practice.
Outfrickinstanding! I'm always looking for covers of tunes I like, and this is the first one I saw that was over seven minutes. You guys didn't kick out the drum solo. Cool. So I listened to this first. All of you nailed this song!!! Thank you very much for the pleasure!!!
Did he just drop his pick. Well that was funny . Amazing performance , great energy , wish you best of luck in your next performances , hope you keep it hard like this.
Many imitators but none have been able to fully capture the rawness of the original. Thank you Harry, you were truly one of a kind.
Nilsson Schmilsson is a top 10 album all time for me. You're right, Harry was one of a kind. Now I'm gonna go listen to the original.
