@Fatimah Ahmed Once I had my cycle for a month because I took a hormonal birth control pill that I'm sure made my uteruses have separate cycles. But when I stopped that pill my uteruses sync up and I have one cycle. But I can't speak for all women with this condition.
I worked with someone born with this. She called herself a “freak”, which made me feel bad. This was before the Internet-I’m guessing she didn’t know any other woman who were born with this condition.
I also have a didelphic uterus, I had a vaginal septum that’s been removed, now I think I was misdiagnosed and that I actually have two reproductive systems just like the lady in this video. So thank you to her for coming out and sharing as I will be telling my doctor

I have this exact same condition. I found out when I was 24. I remember using tampons and them also not working. When I first started using tampons as a girl I remember wondering "what side do I put the tampon in?" But I was too embarrassed to ask my mom. I thought it was a stupid question and that I should know. I spend twice as much on tampons and I can't have an IUD. The birth control pill would somehow make me have my period for a month. However, I just got the arm implant for birth control and I love it. Almost no more periods and I'm saving a lot of money by not buying a million tampons and pads. Also when family bugs me about having a baby, I get to tell them about my condition and they shut up and leave me alone. 😂
I still don't understand why this condition is hard to find out, I mean the double vagina must be barely visible from the outside or must have the same external look... Well I'm glad you can live your life without much troubles!

I have two as well, confirmed by a Gyocologist, but I only have my period once every month. (I'm 14 years old, almost hospitalized every month by sickness up to my period.)
I have a friend that has this and she has 5 kids. Never had any issues during pregnancy or delivery. I'm also and RN and the few that have come through with it have had normal pregnancies.
I have 1 vagina and 2 cervix the size of 1 with 2 uteri and 3 ovaries, I have 2 periods a month and Release 4 eggs at a time. When I was on birth control, my periods would "sync up" but the kind I was on was taken off the market. I found out I had this when I was pregnant because I was still having my period out of one of my uterus' and had no idea, I actually got very sick because I have RH negative blood and my baby had RH positive, I was having horrible abdominal pain and high fever. I went to the ER a d they gave me a pregnancy test and it was +!! They thought it was a tubal pregnancy at first until ultrasound. .I had to have these shots so my body would stop treating my baby like a foreign object or infection and was closely monitored...had a c section at 32 weeks.
Uh, no she is different. Clearly her having two of something that normally comes in singles is different. Discounting her feelings and reality by saying she isn’t doesn’t help her or anyone else.

Never knew someone got interviewed on this! I have this too and feel so seen right now! AAAAH! For me it was a completely diff story of how I found out. To me I was just wondering why my 'one entrance' was 'split' into two, so I asked my gyn and she diagnosed that I had the exact same condition as the woman in this video. Though sadly it's not as 'simple' for me as I cannot use both of them normally, one of the uterus' having a curve of sorts, which also explains why my period pains used to be excruciating before I took birth control to deal with them. I've also been using maxi pads basically all my life, simply because using two tampons at the same time would not be comfortable for me. I have to say though, aside from how I live with it with my husband, I do not have any issues in my day to day life and would've never even thought to get a diagnosis on it, if not for the funny story I mentioned in the beginning of this post. Of course others experience it differently, but it's not something that's awfully inconvenient or impairs daily life, it's just an addition to a perfectly healthy body. Also my gyn said that it is unusual to have two ENTIRE reproductive systems and it's more common that only the vagina is "split" so to speak. Anyway, I am glad it's being talked about!

There was a recent story about a woman in Alabama with the similar condition (separate uteruses) and she's had children via both of her reproductive systems. In the last case, she gave birth to what might aptly be called "fraternal twins". The infants developed in separate uteruses and were born one day apart. In the photos, the happy mother looks no worse for wear. They assigned 2 separate nurses to monitor each uterus. After she was induced, the first twin was via natural childbirth and the second by c-section. She already had given birth to 3 older siblings in the past via each uterus on separate occasions.
