Awesome!! The other night it was cold like in the 30s. I turned the car on outside to warm it up and upon returning the car smelled like gas big time from the out side and inside. Once I drove it after sometime the smell went away. Could it be the hose that needs a tighter clamp like you showed us?
This could be my problem! Gasoline smell when the car is not moving. I noticed it last winter and it is much worse this year. I wonder if the other end of this hose might require the clamp as well? Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! This is a simple thing to do.
@florenceavila1109 at minute 6:36 you can see I use a 3/8 socket with the correct size for the screw and a wrech that fit over to be able to turn the socket
Thank you for this video. I’m supposed to be getting mine replaced under warranty, but I don’t trust the stealership. I’ll do this myself now thanks to you! 🩷
Probably, they are not going to fix it, and you have to pay the 185, I will be going to the dealer soon, I will post in the description of their response
I’m having this issue with my 2017 glc300 only when the mornings are cold, I have this gas smell in the cabin. How long did this work? Was wondering on any update, was there more to the problem? Sorry I know this was a year ago thank you so much for making videos like this!
You nee to replace the complete hose as the rubber is breaking down with age. If you have a good main dealer they should do it for free as Mercedes are aware of the problem. The replaced mine recently on a 2015 W205. C200.
I called Mercedes it’s a warranty. Not a recall. I’m getting mine replaced Monday. Just try to find an honest dealership that won’t cause anything else wrong with the car.
Really good vid. Really good content and camera views Thank you.
Thanks

It can be, you can remove the cover and might be able to see the fuel residue and even smell it more, then you will know for sure
@@Critycal1 Will it be wet some?
@@arielrodriguez6980 you will see the dried residue by the fuel hose
Great job. Very clear
Thanks

I tought the same thing, "will it need another clamp on the other side". I will have to check as well
Did it get fixed? Or did you have to do the other end as well?
I didn't fix it yet, but I do smell it again now that the weather is getting colder. Maybe this fall I'll do something with it
Warranty only lasts up to a 120000 miles.
How did u remove the back screws

Can you tell us what the size of the clamp is? Great Tutorial Video!
Not sure of the size, but is just the small hose clamps

Do u have part number for hose?
Hey thank you for the video, what are the odds Mercedes will fix this for absolute free, without even having to pay for the $185.00 diag fee?

@Santanachampp since I put that clamp washer, it's been ok, but eventually, I will replace the fuel lines, no additional problems yet with fuel smell
