    Great progress this week! Perhaps for the tower progress, you can visually see it powering up. Either with an animation that starts glowing or a particle system that draws in 'power' particles.

    for visuals on the tower I had a few ideas. you could make the lighthouse gradually rise and the light slowly turn cw or ccw until it makes a 360 degree rotation to indicate completion, kind of like unscrewing a screw. another idea is making the water at the base of the lighthouse glow radially in a similar way. The last idea I had was to have seagulls circle overhead to show the progress as more join. also with seagulls you could use them to direct players to lighthouses or another important objective like the red particles around teleporters in ror2. For the safety ring it would be cool for buoys to emerge from the water around the lighthouse to indicate the safe zone if it's not too much visual clutter

    Nice devlog Andrew!! I liked the variety in the video and seeing the progress you've made along the week!
    For the tower cleansing, the idea of showing the different stages of the lighthouse sounds good, it would give more feedback to the player. You could also add some kind of a circular light overlay radiating from the lighthouse to show the area the player has to stay in, along with having the spinning border circle you have there.
    The Pokémon card pack opening reminds me of a time when I used to watch a few Pokémon TCG card pack opening videos haha.

  • @HopperGameDevelopment
    @HopperGameDevelopment 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Why don't you just adjust the centre point of the lighthouse so it's closer to the base (as in, near the bottom of the building) then that should adjust the y position of the object and keep the sprite in front when the boat travels behind it.

    • @andrewzizhen
      @andrewzizhen  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@HopperGameDevelopment well all of them are sprite stacked and have different sprite layer number on them, i tried to bring tower all the way behind but it didnt make any difference, thanks for the suggestion though, i appreciate it!
