hey guys! actually this song isn't a capella......during their hollywood bowl concert they actually had a cadre of strings playing during this song :) strings or no, it's still their definitive PTX sound :)
This is considered an original, although Diane Warren wrote it originally for Cher who sang it for the documentary Cries For Syria. It was never published though, so Diane gave it to PTX. There are strings in the background, so it;s not strictly A Capella.
Mitch's suit...it's Balanciaga (sp) and oversized. He's been wearing this style for pretty much a year now.
Plus, the verse Matt sings was added for PTX; it's not in Cher's version. So I think that adds to the "original" label.
Mitch loves really big suits. Lol in the video for The Prayer someone made a comment that Mitch was the only one appropriately dressed in his big suit in the snow. 😂

Their voices have matured, you can compare to their older songs and you can hear it. Beautiful message hope people are willing to change.
They used a string orchestra on this recording (and in their recent Hollywood Bowl live performance).
This is simply brilliant and one of their very best. Nice reaction, as always.
This album does have instruments and most of it is a collaboration with artists from around the world. Hence the name. Holidays Around The World.
I truly believe that this is an EPIC song.
They ALL seem to be singing/performing it as if it was coming from their very souls.
I think that possibly the 5 of them are at the point in their lives where the words, meaning and the message just matter a bit MORE.
It may also be an attempt to get radio airplay. And a damn good one at that.

They did use a string section on this song. They showed this when they recently performed it live at the Hollywood Bowl.
They have a huge following. They don’t need to break out. Their albums sell millions. They are fine .
Mitch does have his own unique style...no doubt. The album "Holidays around the World" has some a cappella tracks, but many of them have some musical accompaniment. However, their voices are as great as usual. "Love Came on Christmas" has an African sound and "Silent Night" is sung a cappella with The King's Singers from the UK.

When you listen again, listen for Mitch hitting the high note on top of Scott belting almost at the end when you were talking about his beard. It's easy to miss but a joy to hear.

Not completely acapella. This one has strings backing it up. Many of the songs on the new album have additional instruments - some played by very impressive guest artists from various places around the world. I definitely get the impression that PTX is moving away from the restrictive acapella label in favour of the mainstream sound (and maybe some radio play finally). Scott's had a beard since about 2016 or 17, but it's definitely very impressive in this video. As for Mitch, he has a great fondness for the fashion label Balenciaga and especially their oversize looks, so expect to see him in "too big" clothes a lot!

This is definitely mature PTX. As you say, usually you're reacting to older stuff, but this is current. You're more used to Babytonix. At 28, Matt is the 'baby' of the group now, while Kevin (34) is the daddy. Scott turned 31 last year, and Kirstie and Mitch both celebrated their 30th birthdays this year. As others have said, Kirstie is a new mummy, and that definitely makes a lady look different. She recorded the vocals for this when she was 8 months pregnant I believe. How she could belt like that when her lungs would have been all squashed up is beyond me. They've all 'grown' into their voices now and sound better than ever.😊

There are strings here and there’s instrumentation on most of the tracks on this album. The emphasis is still on the vocals. Most of the tracks feature artists from around the world, so it’s quite a bit different from there previous Christmas music. Recommend the track, Love Came On Christmas.

Immediately fell in love with this song the 1st time I heard it which was when they performed at the Hollywood bowl. I have never doubted that they sound the same live as they do but To actually witness it is something really special. A message for BP1. I heard that Pentatonix is going to put out an album from the Hollywood bowl appearance then they will now have a live album. There are videos From many if not all of the songs they performed at that concert

@@lordlockdown64 aww, thanks! I agree, though as his mum I'm biased 😉 My older son is 26, and like Ollie, a clone of their dad. I apparently gave birth to twins 19 years apart. It's the daughter who is most like me, though far more outgoing than I was at her age (she's 21 next month).

This song is just so true on how this world is going. PTX has never really been on the radio. Only some of their Christmas songs on our Christmas music station.....So much better than that so called music they play on the radio now. I will get to hear this live on their Christmas tour!!!❤❤

I totally agree! It appears that BP1 always has something critical to say. Now, I do appreciate that, it’s a reaction channel, and they’re entitled to their opinions. I do enjoy the channel… and throughly enjoy BP 2…he’s always upbeat & optimistic. Just wish BP1 wouldn’t always need to feel that he has to point out something negative in each performance. IMO!!
