Is this a UK genre? Other than her accent, her R&B sounds come off as pretty American to me.

The guitar interludes/outro dances and flits in such a nostalgic manner. Coupled with the pitch change in the last "try" of the chorus and the whole backing wall of sound, the presentation is just drop-dead gorgeous and sentimental.
I love how there isn't blame put on any one person. In that moment, when a love faces trials, and buckles under the pain, it doesn't matter. It can be divorced from facts, where a flood of emotions of two people who don't want what's happening to happen, even though they walked right up to that cliff.
There is something about Arlo, she has such a beautiful soul and the lyrics of this song are stunning.

I am absolutely gobsmacked that Arlo Parks did not score one song in the top 200 of triple J's hottest 100. My only theory is that she has just got so many great songs that her votes became 'diluted'. Such an awesome talent.

One of the best music videos imo. Stays out of the way of the music and doesn’t distract from the plot that’s beautifully outlined in the lyrics. Not overly sexual with wonderful cinematography.

Sometimes no matter how hard you try to set boundaries w ppl & communicate ur needs, abusive ppl take your boundary setting & make it toxic bc they dont actually want to respect you as a person. Its so triggering to see it in public, you want to do smthng abt it. & Sometimes the moment passes & you overthink your actions. Sorry if this is a not related comment. I just really felt it when she said "I swear to god I tried." Be patient with DV survivors in your life. On avg. it takes 5-7 years for a survivor to take the first step. & They'll need you & other supports to actually make it happen. Dont give up on us, some of us are victims bc we didn't survive the abuse. Its painful to know how prevalent this problem is.

This is beautiful. At first it was the voice, but then the way her face emoted at the beginning got me deeper, and then the poetry... I cried.
My fiance and I had gotten to the brink of splitting up last week. I got on the bus and headed to the airport on the next flight. I listened to this song the entire ride and then sent my fiance this song and nothing else.
I got to the ticket counter and had missed my flight by a few minutes. I took the bus back into town and had the doorman bring a note to “Caroline” and left for the night. The next morning we met up and she told me that this song was the reason she met me again. We’re currently still together planning our wedding.

When I came across this by accident, linked to on the official Charts website, I didn't know what to expect. I nearly skipped it because I'm not big on R&B and Hip Hop. I just thought, 'oh great, another hip hop R&B rapper'. Then I decided, "what the hell" and pressed play. I was blown away. Not what I expected at all. Easy listening, soothing and something that could ease my anxiety and panic attacks. It was refreshing to listen to such an angelic voice. Especially at a time when I'm missing my mom and our family pet, both of whom passed away. Was close to my mom and it's been hard on me. The one thing that got me through was our beloved family pet, a miniature dachshund who has helped me with my depressed. She passed away a year ago. Thank you, Arlo, for lifting me up and out.
Really can't wait to see more music from this wonderful artist. Thank you for sharing your music with the rest of us.
