I’m still so so glad I got rid of my cartridge razors and shaving gels and foams from the shaving angle of Target, Walmart etc. Changing to traditional wet shaving has been so much better for my skin and it always gives me that luxury feeling and a big smile on my face. Never will think of going back to the cartridge crap.
The way I looked at shaving totally changed for me when I found Traditional Wet Shaving. Shaving used to be something I had to do and now it is something that I look forward to.
Recently I've seem some DE gear coming back into the big retail stores and supermarkets, even some razors and brushes. For example Gillette Pure and Nivea Sensitive shaving creams in tubes which aren't too bad.
There's a place for my cartridge razors (Gillette Skin Guard, Harry's, Dollar Shave Club). Heaven knows I fell down the Rabbit Hole of traditional Wet Shaving and spent thousands of dollars on those products. So, from that perspective, I've not saved money. Using the Traditional way of shaving has just been so much fun!!
Jill, I don’t know many people that mistakenly found themselves inside a wonderland planned or unplanned that would change it. Like you, I fell down the rabbit hole of wetshaving too and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. Who knew shaving could be this good.
@Jill: It still will save you money in the long run once you’re done buying more and more stuff because it is so much fun. After two years of extensive shopping for hard- and software I’m finally at the point to only enjoy what I have bought so far. It is a great way of enjoying a good shave and a fun hobby!
I'm getting closer to that decision. It is hard when you have a TH-cam Channel not to showcase the newest & latest. I am different than the "big boys" who have thousands and thousands of subscribers so I don't get sent free products so often like them.
I can't see myself ever going back to cartridges.I hated shaving, would use one cartridge forever and usually just dry shaved. Now that I discovered wet shaving, can't say I will be looking back anytime soon.It went from a chore to a pleasure and is taking my Wife and I to two different states for meet ups.😄Thanks Rich for the video.👍
Great to see that you didn't bash the cartridge razor. There is a place for them such as head, neck and shoulder shaves, and for those who are on blood thinners and can not use DE blades. Nice to see you using the Palmolive shave stick! You can get on Ebay for less than $2 a stick when you purchase multi lots. Plus, the stick will last a far greater time than those can gels and foams and provide slickness those cans can't!! Great shave!! Thanks! Jim G.
My main issue with cartridge/disposables razors and aerosol foam/gel cans is the waste they create, whereas you can recycle the DE metal blades and most plastic/metal soap/cream tubs. With a good lather and good technique (which has improved from DE shaving experience) I can still achieve a good shave with a cartridge, however, I have sold most of my stock off and only use them now for travelling so one cartridge could last 12months.
I use cartridges shick hydro 5. I also have a razorpit which helps align the micro chips in the blade from the shave. I put this to a test to see how long I could keep one razor. Longest I had 1 razor head was 1 day short of five months. Now that was really pushing it and my last let's say 10 shaves were a little rough and the last 2 were well let's say it was over with for that razor head. I use short strokes they work just fine for me. So even at the price (for me, everyone's face is different) I save a lot of money using the (RAZORPIT). I can use a razor head 2 months in a comfortable way for my face. I however own a 1964 ( I think it is) FatBoy and a 1963 Gillette Slim Adjustable. I will never go back to the can shaving cream I use a brush and shaving soaps and creams. Love your videos Rich! You have helped my wet shaving grow with your knowledge 👊
Great shave interesting comparison I changed to DE and have never looked back any cartridge razor shavers out there get a tin of Proraso green it lasts around a year you only need to use a very small amount

It definitely is a fun hobby!

Jim, I agree, that Palmolive stick is incredible value for the money you spend to get it.

You know it Dennis! Lather Mittens!!! 😃👍💈
As to shaving cream in a tin I still think Proraso Green in tin is the best cream to use with a cartridge razor
Great shave interesting comparison I changed to DE and have never looked back any cartridge razor shavers out there get a tin of Proraso green it lasts around a year you only need to use a very small amount
Replay lol
Man I love the Palmolive shave stick! I’ve often thought about getting the future, it’s on my future list 😂
