Priyanka was only 17,yet such an intelligent answer.Lara's answer was great too,but the way she was lifting her shoulders again and again I was almost scared she will lose.

Sush wore a gown at her finale in 1994, made of a bedsheet can you believe? She later borrowed some designer clothes from her mentor Lubna Adams and went on to win Miss Universe. Ironically, even at the finale of Miss Universe, the earrings she wore were borrowed from a co-contestant. I think every girl needs to take that call, despite all the hardships, Sush still brought in so much of confidence with her presence and wore that beautiful smile which instantly let a sneak in the purity of a beautiful soul. Contrary to what, today, her own daughters just need to name it and they get it
Few people know that organizers were sending aishwarya instead of sushmita when she lost her passport just before few weeks of her departure....no wonder aishwarya might have easily won miss universe...but sushmita is the best and irreplaceable...

This Video by Miss Femina India 2000 was awesome. All contestants were so pretty, classy and witty. Lara won the 2000 Miss Universe while Prianka won the Miss World 2000 which was a repeat from their 1994 version of Miss Femina India. India is the only country in Asia and the World who ever made this kind of streak in those years.
Though it is a "beauty" pageant, it gave belief to young girls that in life they can be what they want to be. These 3 women may have won their titles 20 years back but even today they uphold their persona which is evident on stage - Dia went within and is on an elegant journey of helping fellow humans, Lara is so intellectual and graceful, Priyanka is confident and has etched her name even till UN level. These are truly beautiful divas from within who teach us that beauty pageants give you the opportunity to be what you want to be. Not the one you need to be.
when I look back at the year 2000 it’s indeed very nostalgic feeling and now back in November 2017 when Manushi won Miss World 2017 it was the proudest moment for all of us we had waited 17 long years for that blue crown to come back to our country,and now we can only hope that is this winning streak continues at Miss World and of course other international beauty pageants especially Miss Universe now that’s something we really need our third Miss Universe and I hope it happens very soon 😘

The problem is within the organization itself. It chose the main aspirations as beauty instead of beauty with brains. We don't have well spoken candidates like that of Lara or Sushmita or Yuktah or the iconic Manpreet. The new breed only care about looking beautiful. In all honesty, even Manushi,despite her winning the Miss World lacks serious communication skills, a stage presence and charisma.

It chose the main aspirations as beauty instead of beauty with brains.
We don't have well spoken candidates like that of Lara or Sushmita or Yuktah or the iconic Manpreet.
The new breed only care about looking beautiful.

When Miss India pageant was a classy affair, so much so that the likes of Carolin Herrera were on the judging panel. Now, the show has turned into a Bollywood trash with Vijendra Singh being a judge. What on earth does he know about pageants?

What a year it was to mark the beginning of 2000s.Miss India needs to go back into shape to bring back crowns again and in order to become the classy,prestigious pageant once that it was.The judging panel consists of all noted personalities successful in their own fields.
