This can be a loooooong game. My wife and 10yr old daughter and I played this for the first time last night. We didn't use the 25 card rule and our game was called at 4 hours because it was too late for my kid.
Hilarious, played it just this night, and we went 3 games without hitting/ employing the 25 mercy kill rule in 2 of them. And even then, it was only my brother that got knocked out (It was 6 of us)
Hey there! I jumped on the website to see what games were there, and I have a weird request: Could you do a staff picks section? Like "favorite strategy games" as a catagory, "favorite co-op games," those sorts of sections would be awesome!
How awesome of you to ask! We actually have an category of our favorites that hasn't been updated in a while, but the games are all fantastic: store.boardgamebarrister.com/our-favorites/ I'll look at going back to updating it more regularly, and we definitely have some amazing co-op suggestions I can add in as well. Thanks for the idea! -Andy
The Wild Card Roulette rules read "The next player chooses a color. After that, they must reveal cards one at a time from the Draw Pile until they get a card of that color (Wild Cards do NOT count). Then they add all the revealed cards to their hand and lose their turn." So it does force you to draw, no matter what you have in your hand. And the Discard All Cards do not interact with the Stacking Rule, where you can keep stacking draw+ cards on other people. BUT after you do the Discard All action, the next player can play their own Discard All card as a match on yours.
@@BoardGameBarristerwhat happens if i hit 25 while im grabbing from the wild card roulette? will i need to continue until i get that color or does the next person pick up where i left off since i am now out of the game?
@@rubymartinez5213 I believe you would finish resolving the wild card roulette, then check hand size. However, if you wanted to make a house-interpretation that you check the hand size after each draw *during* the wild card roulette *and then* continue onto the next player, go for it. That is too fiddly for my tastes, but if that feels right to your group, go for it.
if you play a skip all card, you can play another card as long as it matches the colour or symbol or is a wild card. if you're in a 2 player game and play a reverse, wild reverse +4 or skip, you can also play another legal card for each scenario. otherwise nope
Yes, the Red +4 is equal to the Wild Reverse +4, which means the next person in the now-reversed order will draw 8 unless they can play a draw +4, +6, or +10. In both cases, any +2 cannot be played according to the Stacking Rule at 5:31. th-cam.com/video/IBAmbkd8-No/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for your reply. Ok but what if I put the wild +4 and say “blue” and the next person only has a red +4, would he be able to put the red +4 down? Or does it have to be blue per the colour chosen when the wild +4 was placed?
@@AndreaGonzalez-gd6rpthe general rule is you can play a card that matches color or symbol- the +4 matches on symbol. The Stack Rule further says you can play a +n draw card of equal or greater number. Yes, you can play the red +4 in your example.
I just got mine, and love it, thanks for the video, one thing if the player doesn't have card and he have to pick it from the bank until he can pull out ? New rules ?
If it is your turn and you cannot play a card that matches by symbol or number, then you draw cards into your hand without revealing until you draw a card that does match a symbol or number (wilds count!), then you play that card. This is different than the Wild Roulette card, where you reveal card from the top of the deck until you reveal a card of the color chosen (wilds do *not* count), then you put those cards into your hand and your turn ends. You do not get to play a card when someone plays a Wild Roulette on you and there is no way to avoid the effects of a Wild Roulette - it is the nastiest of nasty cards.
Stacking draw cards - doesn't that only work for non-wild (colored) cards only? Wild cards (black card) are definitive, if someone puts a draw 4 wild card on you, that's it, no matter how many draw cards you have on your hand, you need to draw 4. Also, you cannot stack wild draw cards on colored draw cards! This is how it is in the normal Uno. Is this changed up here?
I didn't get the "skip everyone card". Like, if it is my turn, it doesn't make sense playing that card, right? Because I will, practically, just lose it. So, can I play it anytime in the game? Like, I can "steal" someone's turn when playing that card and now it's my turn? Do you get my question?
The Skip Everyone card still must be played on your turn, it then skips everyone and makes it your turn again. You can imagine a combo where you have two cards remaining, a Skip Everyone and a wild card - you can play the Skip while saying Uno. Then it becomes your turn again, and you play the wild to win. Situationally, a very powerful card.
If you have UNO and your last card is a draw 6 wild card, and the person plays the wild card roulette, can you end the game with a UNO OUT using your wild draw 6 on top of the wild roulette card??
No. Nothing matches the symbol on a Wild Roulette - so when a Wild Roulette is played on you, you are stuck. We found Wild Roulette to be the most merciless card in the game. Similarly, you can't respond to a +x draw card with a Wild Roulette. Here's the link to the Stacking Rule th-cam.com/video/IBAmbkd8-No/w-d-xo.html

In a 2 player game how does the stackable reverse +4 card work with series of 3 of those same cards played?
You end up with the cards yourself
@@GGgg-hq6zhThats actually hilarious if that’s true
So with the reverse draw 4 does it reverse each time it's stacked?
yeah (if it's a 2 player game it still goes back to you, of course)
If someone plays a wild roulette card on me but I also have one can I not play it?
Also are the discard all card stackable?

Can you play only one card at your turn or can you stack them like if you have three cards of normal or special cards?

nope, unless the card previously played was a skip all (or a reverse/wild reverse +4/skip in a 2 player game)

Side arrows are on 0’s and 7’s. 0’s mean you swap hands with the next person. 7’a mean you swap hands with the person of your choice.
