Sometimes the clutch in the motor makes the machine's hand wheel tight. Push ever so slightly on your foot pedal without engaging the motor to release the clutch. That should loosen up the wheel.
Very frustrated here... I just finished assembling my machine yesterday. Tonight I sat down to test it and it sewed a few stitches but now won't sew. It sounded like the belt was slipping so I tightened it but then it sounded too tight and barely moving so I loosened it. I think it has something to do with the hand wheel because it will not budge. I did assemble it as your video above (except mine only had one screw so I lined that up with the flat section and tightened). Any ideas what I did wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It could be as simple as a thread caught in the hook assembly. Oil the space between the hook base/basket and hook assembly, and then try and turn the hand wheel. th-cam.com/video/l8SNvQawBf4/w-d-xo.html

There is no screw on the shaft. The screws are inside slot on the hand wheel where belt goes.
