What did I buy at RetrotechUK in 2024? Is it just junk and what did I pay for it all? #retrotech #gramophone #phonograph #record #pathe #vintageaudio #78rpm
The only pathè record I have is just vinyl records with Malay and Chinese songs but damn that’s a lot and very rare stuff you got! quite interested about the tiny player, is it possible to fix it? And I saw the broadcast record and it is 6 inches!?!? That’s very unusual and rare! I saw the brown colour record and I if I remember correctly, it is a microgrove record so you can play it on a record player!
It was great to find the Pathe. There were several in the box, but that one seemed like a good record at a good price. In the video intro you can also see a huge Pathe disk which was there. I was tempted to buy it! (I didn't ask the price though). There was a lot of rare stuff there, I agree. I think I can fix the little grey record player. I will have to find a different motor for it, but I already have an idea 💡 🤔 😅. The little broadcast record must be pretty rare. I believe they only made them in 1927! The orange/brown record isn't shellac so can be played on a record player, though I don't think it was properly microgroove as it would work with a 78 stylus also. Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks 👍 😀
Yes, the little grey briefcase one will probably get an electric motor. I already have one in mind. Do you think it is a Kiddyphone brand one? I haven't been able to find a picture of another one online. The other one may get fixed, too, but I already have a complete working example of that model. The Broadcast Junior was an unexpected surprise. I wasn't paying any attention to the records in the box when I bought it! 😅. Apparently, it was a short-lived label from 1927. Thanks 👍 😀
Interesting video. How do you stop yourself from not buying hundreds of records there? I would struggle. 😂 I would like to attend that event sometime though. May be next year. Also just noticed a phonograph for wax cylinders. Wouldnt mind one of those some day.
Yes, it was a great find, though there were other Pathe discs I could have bought too. Did you notice the huge Pathe disc, near the start of the video? th-cam.com/video/IB39hqBlMjE/w-d-xo.html Thanks 👍 😀
I want this in Slovakia. A place for all collectors to meet!
Yes, it would be nice if there were more of these shows around. Thanks 👍 😀
Great haul. Interesting stuff. I've subscribed!
Thanks 👍 😀. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the sub! 😀

Never seen a Broadcast Junior before. Are you tempted to put an electric motor in the Kiddyphone? Thanks for posting.

If I ever manage to get to this place, I'm never leaving until the organisers throw me out on my backside.
I had to make several trips back to the car, but after about 3 hours we did leave. If I has stayed, I would have bought more! 🤣. Thanks 👍 😀
First year I was there, I did buy a lot of records. I have over 1000 78s now, so I try to be more selective but often fail 😅. Thanks 👍 😀
Hard to resist bargains
Indeed, though I tried not to buy too much stuff this year! Thanks 👍 😀
some of them look similar to my new turntable
I may go next year hopefully
Me too. Thanks 👍 😀

@@mrrgstuff すごい!
@@mrrgstuff I didn't even notice that. Monster pathe records are rare to find!
@@mrrgstuffhow much did it cost for that record?
Also that text means "awesome"
Need a bigger bench 🙂
Just cleared this bench. Has been full of records for the last year or so. There will be an upcoming video where I talk about all of that. Thanks 👍 😀
@@mrrgstuff ………… ah but records are good 🙂
Indeed. There certainly will be more record videos. Thanks 👍 😀
are these turntables?
In some of the pictures from the show, I think there are modern turntables. There was a lot of that stuff there, probably more so than gramophones! 🤣
oh alright 😄
