The government actually paid them alot of money after the disaster. They are brought supplies occasionally and they have access to a bus that comes around occasionally
Not being reliant on modern amenities. They’re not living in 2019, they’re basically living a few decades back. To survive all you need is food, water and shelter, something that probably isn’t too lacking there. I have no idea how they haven’t died to the radiation yet though, they might be living on the outskirts of the city so they’re not close enough to get a deadly dose of radiation but the entire area is closed off because it’s well...deadly.

In Chernobyl, there are lots of ppl that continued living there even after the evacuation of the city, most of them are more than 70-yrs old, some of them are family of a leqiudator, some of them just didnt wanted to leave thier farms, houses, pets, and more, i just know alot bout this bc my grandpa was a leqiudator.

My dad was never in the military, but I've been that kid. Hadn't seen him in years, was told lies that he didn't want to see me. Thought I would have some choice words for him, but all I felt when he walked through the door was joy and relief. We've been inseparable since then, about 15 years ago now. Children need their fathers. Studies have even shown that single father households vastly outperform those of the mother, in terms of incarceration and crime rates. Fathers bring discipline, control, and are capable of nurturing when necessary. My mother barely paid attention to me as a child. Too busy doing drugs and going to bars to raise her kids. Living that independent single mom life. Great for her. Not so great for the children.
