- Teaser for NYIT's unfinished animated film The Works
The Works was an animated feature film being produced at New York Tech's Computer Graphics Laboratory between 1979-1986. It was intended to be the first fully computer animated film. However, due to technological restraints, only about 20 minutes of footage was produced, most of which test animation, before it was permanently halted.
This trailer was provided by a ex-member of the NYIT lab.
This was supposed to be the first fully CGI move

I wonder just how many early cgi shorts are still yet to be found… this looks to be running off the same software as the final film… Maybe wasn’t as advanced as other things when it released but for 1980 this is astonishing

@@ZiggyCashmereThe 2nd like 1986 version of this short I mean or this title card or whatever, not final film, you’re right, point I’m trying to get at here is I think this was all made off the exact same computer for the entire duration of its development and eventual cancellation
