- During his singlehanded circumnavigation of Britain, Derek took a week out to explore some of the small islands in the Western Isles of Scotland before continuing his voyage via Staff, Jura and Islay. Filmed with iPhone XR and GoPro7.

@@derekhathaway Love the videos; we're planning a trip around the Western Isles next year. May I please ask: How do you use Gilmore's music without the Copyright police hounding you? And how do you publish the copyright info on the comments page?
@@andrewjenkins7783 I don’t monetise my videos on TH-cam and use my own purchased music and although I get a copyright warning for some artists it still works! I had one song that led to a video being blocked for someone in NZ! The credits seem to get added by TH-cam.

Thank you! I was away for just over 3 months. I allowed myself 10 days to explore the Small Isles on the west of Scotland otherwise it would have been quicker! All day sails and mostly using just fair weather.
@@derekhathaway - Wonderful! If you ever get over to the south west coast of Ireland, I have an Oyster 37 that I keep at Lawrence Cove Marina, Beara Island - it's a lovely spot. Drop by for a chat!

After years of Med sailing , this summer I may pick up a boat in Belgium and make a round Britain trip before heading South.
Will mid may to end July be long enough?
I’m sure you could complete in that time at that time of year. I would definitely do the Caledonian canal though - it’s a real delight and may leave you time to visit some of the Inner Hebrides/ “small isles” before heading south. I may do short TH-cam video focusing on the ports I used. Best wishes!
