So happy to see Machinewise get some love for the Sonora. As a balisong reviewer/enthusiast, Machinewise transferring their knowledge from making absolutely exceptional and game changing balisongs into a fantastic folder is so cool to see. Great video Taylor & Rikki!
My vote is for Winerblade Co. Bryan Winters is a freaking wizard. He has had some of the most innovative designs over the last few years and i doubt 2025 will be any different. #carryon
I wish I liked the Winterblade knives in hand. On paper they are novel and boundary pushing but in hand…the are gimmicky. Again this is just my opinion, I know the majority love them.
My favorite knife this year was an EDC for hunting. My Montana Knife Company Stonewall Skinner. Never realized how nice it is to have a skinner. Thanks for introducing me to so many different options as well.
I’m guessing the most innovative knife in 2025 will be Winterblade Co. I think the most creative/fun will be Kunwu. But I’m most excited for Divo. #CarryOn
My favorite is the Tactile Mariner 2. Such a great knife. Would love one of those Narrows, my summer carry is a Bugout since it’s so light it works great with shorts. Just too rich for my blood.
Great knife releases this year! I’ve picked up a few and carry them in rotation daily, but I also picked up a couple of the ExceedDesigns TiRant razors you reviewed and they have all but replaced everyday use of my blades. I still need my edc knives but man, these things are awesome. And the owner, Josh, is a standup guy.
Realistically, I think the brand that's coming out with the best designs are probably Civivi or Kunwu, they've both been killing it recently. My more controversial (and less realistic lol) pick would be to say that Benchmade has seen the increasing negativity and hasn't released a truly new design in a bit, and they're gonna wow us in 2025. No matter what it's a great time to be a knife fan! #carryon
Hi . I have some Spidercco s, Benchmade , Wee , Civivi, Cold steel , Vosted….but as soon I put my hand on a Knafs lander 3 clip point blade…I fall in love with it❤! My vote is going with Ben Peterson all of his designs are excellent, practical …exactly what do you want and expect from a pocket knife! It’s a shame in the UK I cannot carry locking knives ,just slip joints under 3.5….Keep up the good job guys! Thank you for the content. Respect
Looking forward to 2025, I would love to see a new Hinderer design. My first knife given to me as a gift was a Hinderer. It was a Father's Day gift from my wife, and though it has kind of a tactical look, it is strong and has a look that I still appreciate in knife designs to this day. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays #Carryon
#CARRYON I think Civivi is gonna keep crushing it cause there are making some of the same designs as the bigger companies but at 1/4 of the cost. I feel like they are gonna come out with some insane budget knives that will blow some of the more expensive ones out of the water, especially if they keep getting more collabs.
2 knives I carried the most this year: An old pm2 and an old 950 rift 2 tone. I've had both for more than a decade, and I still find them compelling today. What was your most carried knife?
I think the most innovative company next year will be someone we haven't heard of yet. Of the big guys, I'm looking for Spyderco to come out with a knife in a Magnacut replacement not made by Crucible (RIP) very late in the year. #CARRYON
I happened to come across an interview with Peter Kohler with Dark Timber discussing his journey and influence in making knives. I would love to see more behind the scenes of what he is working on for next year. #carryon
I think Swiss tech is going to have the greatest success of the new year, they started off strong, and throughout just this year they had really amazing and powerful designs. They have a wide variety of knifes with so many diffrent styles. The Gerundet with AUS-8 and ceramic bearings, the ultra light Stämmig with its unique blade hole style knife, the Würdig with its flipper and thumb plate deployment on smooth ceramic bearings. There’s the cross bar Balken with semi clear scales so you can see and appreciate the build of the knife. The Winzig compact flipper with a carabiner on the end of it. These are some amazing folder blade with quality that’s just out of this world for the amount you’re paying. The knife you mentioned(the Lösung ).they even have the traditional modern style 2 blade slip join knife. They have their fixed blades for all types of people, the bush crafters, the survivalists, the mini edc fixed blade users. They have multi tools, Swiss Army knife multi tools. Swiss tech has come out with so many quality and amazing tools, and their brand is so much more than sharp tools. With thier inovations I think they could posibly be one of the best pioneers in the budget edc, and over all edc world. (Idk how to use the hashtag on something so I’m just gonna put it here) #CARRYON
#carryon and I'm pretty sure it will be either Kizer or Vosteed that has a wild 2025. Kizer has been pumping out beautiful designs, and i don't believe they will be slowing down anytime soon. Vosteed has really hit a homerun with the Psyop, and their 2023 and 2024 were massively momentum building. I wouldn't be surprised to see them try something off-the-wall now that they've got stability and reputation behind them.
#carryon not my gem of a knife brand but i guess we/civivi is going to have the most diverse and innovative designs next year. They started collaborating with some big names in the knifefluencing game like ben petersen, zac, dbk or snecx which i guess they will continue. Three of them had different locks and all four successful knife designs that were pretty different for the most part.
The Protech Integrity with aluminum relic scales is my EDC. Love the size and deployment satisfaction. 2025 will be the year of Benchmade! Having one of your knives broken in half on TH-cam is motivation to do something big. Or anything with Chris Reeve attached to it, lol. It’s 50/50 #carryon
The Narrows I would just give away just like you LOL, it would drive me nuts. LOVE the Cold Steel Atlas FM-1 over it. I've been eyeing a Sonora, so many options and so nicely done.
#carryOn_Best design(s) this year are from Machinewise (I LOVE my Sonora) and Golden Design Works... First the caliber, than the nugget, now the slim. Just wow!
#carryon Civivi for innovation, high quality product, low cost! Design, carry commission collaborators, always beautiful knives! Can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store!
@BestDamnEDC thanks for always creating great content. Always love watching your insight on the massive market of knives. Long time viewer and fan of yours! #carryon
Kershaw is slept on, it is one of my favorite edc knives… The Static. It’s not only a work horse but its design is next level for the price! Personally love clever style. Everything you want in a knife, GRIT and BEAUTY! #carryon
Thank you for this nice collection of the best knives of the year. My favorites are the Buckhorn, the Lux and of course the Narrows. Also interesting is the Lösung model from Swiss Tech.
I didn’t get to handle anything for 2024 but I think Winterblade Co. designs are worth a look at Especially if you could put them through a torture test to see what they could withstand
#Carry On / I think TJ Schwartz will continue to innovate in 2025. His budget designs for CRKT are well done. His higher end designs for companies like Tactile are amazing and he continues to pump out great fixed blades directly from his website. I’m excited to see what he does next.
I think in 2025 civivi will have the most innovative designs. They have come out with a lot of cool designs like the Yonder as mentioned. Additionally they do a good job of making affordable but still good knives. I have some benchmades and sydercos and more often than not I find myself using my $30 mini praxis. #carryon
I am thinking Vosteed is going to take off this year. With their top liner locks as well as their vanchor lock, Vosteed has gotten their name out there and I think they will have something that is going to explode. They also have pretty nice fixed blades. #carryon
It feels cheap to say winterbladeco will be the most innovative. I think they have been for the last few years. But accessibility is tough. Honestly I think that the things that Kunwu have been doing, they have been doing great, and doing right. I predict a big breakout year for Kunwu in 2025. I also love the odd and less used blade steels they have been using.
Oh that's easy its ken onion and the buckhorn. There is so much buzz around the milling on that knife and everyone loves ken onion even tho I am not a huge fan of the buck horn I think it deserves it. #CarryOn
Carry on and I think my pic for most interesting designs next year will actually be Tuff knives and RS knife works because they have teamed up and I love both of their design language and they have already put out fire for their first collaboration and their new knife company Titonic
#carryon | In 2025 I’d love to see even more of a minor trend we saw this year-good quality, tough enough American designed, American manufactured AFFORDABLE EDC/folding work knives. I would also love a new Benchmade Mini Narrows to try out against vs. the Bugout. I use a knife everyday at work and it would be great to carry something that comes from here built by us (hell even export more of our products abroad!). Solid tools for trades people, crafts people, cops, firefighters, medics, truck drivers, and war fighters!
#carryon I think tactile turn might have something up their sleeves this year. I know they have been in the knife game for some time but I feel like they need to do something to mix it up and turn up the volume!

Kunwu would be my bet for 2025 top maker. Great designs, willingness to use very rare steels, and completely immune to whatever happens to Crucible. New import tariffs may make things more expensive though # carryon
I was planning on slowing down on my knife purchases then you hit me with this list. Dont know I am happy or sad.... #carryon Vosteed they are killing it..... (second choiuce would be Kizer)
#carryon . I think TKell will have something to bring in 25 his designs while manly tactical they blend well into edc and overall function while maintaining great esthetic. Form and function.
#carryon I’m not sure if it’s controversial, but I think tactile knife co is going to have a big 2025. Each of their knives feel unique and soooooo refined. I’m excited to see what they come out with next year.
Benchmade has gone a little crazy with their pricing. I think the narrows is a cool idea and design, just not worth what they price them at. The Brown Cortex XL has been one of my favorites this year
#carry on, it’ll be white label with these great designs coming from You tube folks. #carryon I think WE / Civivi will probably be the most innovative knife brand next year because they are usually very innovative and the company seems to be able to do anything and Kizer seems to be coming on strong here lately I think they did a lot this year but I think this year it's gonna be We / Civivi.
#carryon and I think the most creative knife in 2025 might be from ketuo knives especially after looking at some of there other knives like mecha x with the Integral handle that hides all the hardware until you pop the back off and I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how their machining is very good and I would have to agree just by looking at them
Oh my gosh! That Pro Tech Rockeye is gorgeous. #Carryon im guessing Benchmade will have best design & improvement in 2025, because they are disliked by so many people & have most to prove to stay on the up & up in knife world. Though Im new to & just trying to learn. I can only watch you & MC & drool. I did buy a mini Praxis & was gifted a Pyra Lite, my 1st taste of better quality knives. The Sonora is beautiful!
#carryon my guess is CJRB because is feels like that budget knives are offering more and more innovation and that segment is exploding. I’ve also just been hearing their name a lot recently.
From all of us here at Machinewise - Thank you! We are honored to be featured on this list! Happy Holidays!
So happy to see Machinewise get some love for the Sonora. As a balisong reviewer/enthusiast, Machinewise transferring their knowledge from making absolutely exceptional and game changing balisongs into a fantastic folder is so cool to see. Great video Taylor & Rikki!
As a balisong enthusiast, I second this
As a Brandon enthusiast I third this
We are honored to be in your top 15. Stoked you like it! Wondering if you’ll also like the a LITTLE something we we have coming up 😁🙌🙌
Will you buy me a all black nova mini for Christmas 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I have been good this year
My vote is for Winerblade Co.
The TR-3 Integrity was my fav this year, I would love a Mini Narrows though!!!
'Just pick something and go with it' is the best thing I heard in a knife video for a long time.
The coolest part is benchmade prices are going up again 11%
The Sonora has become one of my favorites this year. Have 2 so far and plan to get more.
Shakey Graves rips if you know you know.
Agreed! Saw him a few weeks ago in Winston-Salem
Came here to say this. That hat is 🔥
Yeah, Shakey is 🔥. Met his mom, wonderful lady
My favorite knife this year was an EDC for hunting. My Montana Knife Company Stonewall Skinner. Never realized how nice it is to have a skinner. Thanks for introducing me to so many different options as well.
My favorite knives this year are the Null knives ghoul and High Grain Designs DeVille. Both unique designs with great attention to detail.
My edc knife of the year is the Daggerr Cinquedea.
We have different preferences in knife design.
I’m guessing the most innovative knife in 2025 will be Winterblade Co. I think the most creative/fun will be Kunwu. But I’m most excited for Divo. #CarryOn
I’ve got a Benchmade 535-1901 Bugout Limited Edition and would like a Benchmade Mini Narrows.
Great show!
My favorite is the Tactile Mariner 2. Such a great knife. Would love one of those Narrows, my summer carry is a Bugout since it’s so light it works great with shorts. Just too rich for my blood.

I would say knife of the year is Shirogorov Astrum.
I’m convinced, totally convinced, that Benchmade priced the Narrows just to jokingly see what people would spend.
Suing small businesses isn't cheap and the Benchmade legal team has mortgages to pay.
My FAVORITE 2024 release was the Giant Mouse BiblioXL titanium. I like it a lot more than my Inkosi.
#carryon
No fucking way BM learns their lesson about knife pricing. Civivi and Kunwu are great choices though
Would love a manual oligarch.
Nice collection. I mainly buy civivi, volsteed, and cjrb under $100. I have some ZTs and Spydercos that were more than $100. I also collect swords.
Hi . I have some Spidercco s, Benchmade , Wee , Civivi, Cold steel , Vosted….but as soon I put my hand on a Knafs lander 3 clip point blade…I fall in love with it❤! 28:14 Kizer also does do a g10 integral button lock
Looking forward to 2025, I would love to see a new Hinderer design. My first knife given to me as a gift was a Hinderer. Like the cross bars & the channel. Ty for brining to light the options.
Kershaw did something to their hinge lately and for a sub 100 knife, they’re way better than I had thought.
I was coming here to say this too! Kershaw can take over if they want! I love civivi and what they do, but 2025 will be the year of the kershaw!
What's that thin knife in the comparison with the benchmade called?
Tactile Knife Co Bexar
Narrows price is wild
2 knives I carried the most this year: An old pm2 and an old 950 rift 2 tone. I've had both for more than a decade, and I still find them compelling today.

Yes. It’s in there. I promise lol

That swiss knife reminds me of the kunwu pulsar.
Love the shakey graves hat!
Without a doubt you can hand break that Benchmade too!
#carryon and I'm pretty sure it will be either Kizer or Vosteed that has a wild 2025. Kizer has been pumping out beautiful designs, and i don't believe they will be slowing down anytime soon. 28:00 am I missing something? When did Grimsmo do an integral button lock?
They’re still working on it
@BestDamnEDC got it. Really looking forward to seeing it!
loving the shakey graves hat, great singer, knives arnt too shabby either 😏
#carryon

#carryon i love the lander clip poin getting back to basic
Woooo Swiss Tech made it!! I love the Losung! I’d also recommend checking out the Wurdig!
MKC folder and Benchmade litigation.
#carryon
The Narrows I would just give away just like you LOL, it would drive me nuts. LOVE the Cold Steel Atlas FM-1 over it. I've been eyeing a Sonora, so many options and so nicely done.
Knife of the year should've been the $10 Ozark trail Bugout clone with how fast people bought them 😂
$580 for a MINI NARROWS!!??!!!?!!!!??!!??? There are many budget-y knives I would rather have even if price wasn’t a factor
If it helps any, benchmade prices are, wait for it………..set to go up again by 11 percent here soon.
#carryOn_Best design(s) this year are from Machinewise (I LOVE my Sonora) and Golden Design Works... First the caliber, than the nugget, now the slim. Just wow!
I have a number of Benchmade knives, but like my 7” Meatcrafter best tbh. lol. I’d love a narrows!
I didn’t get to handle anything for 2024 but I think Winterblade Co. designs are worth a look at
Especially if you could put them through a torture test to see what they could withstand
How to win the narrows?!?
#Carry On / I think TJ Schwartz will continue to innovate in 2025. His budget designs for CRKT are well done. His higher end designs for companies like Tactile are amazing and he continues to pump out great fixed blades directly from his website. I’m excited to see what he does next.
OEG EDC coming out firing in 2025 #CarryOn
Carry On! I think Benchmade is due for a good innovation.
I think in 2025 civivi will have the most innovative designs. They have come out with a lot of cool designs like the Yonder as mentioned. Additionally they do a good job of making affordable but still good knives. I have some benchmades and sydercos and more often than not I find myself using my $30 mini praxis. #carryon

Narrows is higher than giraffe tail, but certainly a cool knife
We don't hate Benchmade (it's Benchmade who hates us with their prices) . 😮
PS Taylor, always look forward to your end of year best pics. 👍👊 thank you
Glad you enjoy them! Hope you have a great start to the new year. 🤘🏻
Did I miss the part on how to sign up for the bench made giveaway?! I love my bugout personally…
I love my Swiss tech wurdig from Walmart in micarta is nice for $30
It feels cheap to say winterbladeco will be the most innovative.
#CarryOn
#carryon_best..knafs will be what I'm excited to see what they come out with next!
I would’ve included the Mariner from Tactile for this year
It was in close contention. Rikki would have also included it. For me, that spot went to the Birdvis Hitchcock. Very similar designs, but I prefer the frame lock to liner and I’ve got some history with that design because of the gift. But Bob Terzoula is a G and I agree that the Mariner 2 is a great knife.
500 for a pocket knife is insane
#carryon - Kunwu will have the best designs in 2025. Their attention to detail and quality of materials are second to none in their pricing category.
#carryon
Best knife design of 2025 will be from Ken Onion.
He still has the chops to come out with next level design and milling.
Have you all seen his latest release the Sm💨ke Sh💨w?!?!😮
WHO can match the staying power and legacy of Ken Onion?
Ken’s new knife looks like a cob of corn…
Do you know if that’s the inspiration?
I think Kunwu will most innovative and best designs of 2025. First they are testing out a bunch of new steels and properly heat treating them. Second they way they are ending 2024 with these banger designs only tells me they have even better bangers waiting. #carryon
Kunwu would be my bet for 2025 top maker. Great designs, willingness to use very rare steels, and completely immune to whatever happens to Crucible.
New import tariffs may make things more expensive though
# carryon
How could any reasonable person refuse a Bench Made knife. Especially that one
I really hope flytanium comes out with another knife because I love my arcade
I was planning on slowing down on my knife purchases then you hit me with this list. Dont know I am happy or sad.... #carryon Vosteed they are killing it..... (second choiuce would be Kizer)
#carryon . I think TKell will have something to bring in 25 his designs while manly tactical they blend well into edc and overall function while maintaining great esthetic. Form and function.
#carryon I’m not sure if it’s controversial, but I think tactile knife co is going to have a big 2025. Each of their knives feel unique and soooooo refined. I’m excited to see what they come out with next year.
I don’t know how to input ….#carry on… sorry . Great job guys!
That shakey hat though!
Benchmade has gone a little crazy with their pricing. I think the narrows is a cool idea and design, just not worth what they price them at.
The Brown Cortex XL has been one of my favorites this year
#carry on, it’ll be white label with these great designs coming from You tube folks. You yourself(you’re gonna move a lot of them), Jared Neeves, Left EDC, Metal Complex, the mustache cat @Tristate EDC,etc etc. All these guys have done great designs and there will be more to come.
I do love what you did with your design Taylor
#carryon I think WE / Civivi will probably be the most innovative knife brand next year because they are usually very innovative and the company seems to be able to do anything and Kizer seems to be coming on strong here lately I think they did a lot this year but I think this year it's gonna be We / Civivi.
#carryon
And obviously winterblade co is going to have the best design of the next several years
#carryon and I think the most creative knife in 2025 might be from ketuo knives especially after looking at some of there other knives like mecha x with the Integral handle that hides all the hardware until you pop the back off and I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how their machining is very good and I would have to agree just by looking at them
I was once a benchmade fan. Now? Boooooo benchmade.
Why is that?
How do you enter to win the Benchmade? You forgot to say how.
I didn’t. It’s in the video
How de we enter?
watch again 😉
Ozark Trail will improve on their design and still keep an affordable price point, setting off another craze.
#carryon
White river ursus 45 3v for me
#carryon my guess is CJRB because is feels like that budget knives are offering more and more innovation and that segment is exploding. I’ve also just been hearing their name a lot recently.
We know things take time and effort dude a lot of companies can hit exceptionally quality 600 plus for knives isn’t justified for me but you do you
Hi Taylor when are you going to do the draw
#carryon - going for broke: I think Jason Brous with his very original XR-1 design will build another version next year to great fanfare.
