- hey everyone! you may be wondering "karsen, why the heck are you still making pearl compilations?" yeah, i'm not sure either... i just love her so much whhdhd
anyways, welcome to part three !! i am planning to do a part four as well, which will be the finale. i am still planning to do steven universe videos after that, as well as pearl centred ones !!

I love how as the show progresses she becomes less condescending to Steven and actually starts to appreciate/love him for who he is and not for what he is (Rose's son). And her relationship with Amethyst improves also.
She also had some resentment towards him only seeing it as her duty to protect and care for Steven because she is Rose’s son. Glad her feelings changed 🥰
The power of character development
Ohh! Oh and her outfits progressively get different with her character develompent also! It changes from dresses and skirts to a jacket!! I think it's really cool!

6:28 This is actually a meta joke! The guidelines that the Crewniverse gave comicwriters included a few "must have" traits for each character to make the comic canon. Garnet's was literally "She never asks questions. Never. Under no circumstances". So they had to stick with it in the show everywhere but in The Answer or fusion experiment parts. Thus, Garnet is forbidden from asking them what is going on. A great joke!

In time, she never doubted her role either, and tried to keep that pretense after Rose disappeared, at LEAST to Keystone, and it was definitely long gone by the introduction of Cat Steven. Hope that helps!
Something I'd like to emphasize is that it's likely that Rose not only taught Garnet to never question herself, but also accidentally *ordered* her to never do so, just like she ordered Pearl to never speak of the shattering fiasco again.
Back then she said it'd be her last order as a Diamond, but when she told that to Garnet she did the same hands gesture that she did to Pearl, so she must've said it as an order accidentally.

It was a conventional psychological latching to a philosophical and emotional foundation that went unquestioned due to it's grounding power for Garnet (who always tries to stay strong for the team).

This is a joke that references those comic guidelines. (I never found out what Pearl or Amethyst's requirements were, or any other character for that matter)

yes, deedee is the voice of all pearls !! (just like how michaela voices all amethysts and so on) i can hear deedee's voice in every pearl, yet they are all so different ☺️

With the exception of Pearl, every person in that scene where they were drinking sodas is short, plus the bright and vivid colors that they’re all are makes me think of candy, hence the lollipop guild!

Pearl is so underrated she is my favourite crystal gems, she got incredible character development, however I'm sad how they nerfed her as the show went on, she is supposed to be " rose quartz renegade pearl" like come on a jasper shouldnt beat her :'(
I guess Jasper is basically a super soldier whereas regular Jaspers are just normal soldiers usually.
Basically took a diamond’s power to shatter her.

i rewatched steven universe and THE progress of pearl is really amazing and how they slowly gave us hints of rose quarts being pink diamond Their was this scene in one of the episodes of the gems and steven hanging out in the barn with peridot whe she mentiond that “this pearl is quite fancy too” touching pearl’s ribbon and pearl yanks it away and the way peri asked steven where she got pearl because peridot noticed how fancy pearl was and how she looked like she was made to serve high ranking gems. ALSO I love the little detail of pearl covering her mouth whenever pink diamond is mentioned and how she does it again when she wants/tries to tell steven and the whole crystal gems the truth. In the episode of steven having dreams of pearl shattering pink diamond we saw pink requesting pearl to hide her secret and she puts pearls both hands on her mouth and told her “as my last order as your diamond we must never speak of this moment again, i never wanna look back.” so maybe that’s the reason why pearl kept covering her mouth whenever pink is mentioned she was a loyal pearl until the end. REBECCA SUGAR IS LITERALLY THE BEST. 😭 i love pearl so much
As I’ve said before, pearl is def one of my favs. the main diamond plot is told by pearl and she’s basically the most important character to the plot after Steven lol
And SO MUCH character growth. From hating and being salty about humans to teaching gems about human stuff. And she also has a really cool spear.
