I never really had anyone to play stuff like this with, but I had several sets when I was a kid and loved, and I mean, absolutely loved setting them up around my house within scenarios of battle. You just brought back such some great Memories.
20:48 well that's not true if at the end of a turn and enemy unit Is closer to your transport then your unit It's considered destroyed, but if you assault It you still need to roll for damage

I mean yeah, the game reviews have actual effort put into them, so they take longer to make. He has to pay his bills, and videos are his career. Thus, the logical thing to do is to pump out side content while you work on the main videos.
to be honest there’s just not a whole lot of games to review at the moment, especially any big titles so it’s understandable, there’s always been review droughts throughout the channels’ history.

This is the first time I ever saw this game, and your comment really sells it. I am well into this game after 3 mins of the video :D Warhammer kind of went off it recently, but yes this is the stuff.
@@DailyCorvidbest part as well is that Warlord Games isn't as suffocating of homebrewed/homemade units, models, etc as Games Workshop is. If you own a 3D printer there is a massive community for terrain, aircraft, etc to help flesh out your games

So happy about this! Amazing. Thanks for partnering with warlord games and doing more bolt action. Warlord games can be hit or miss but bolt action, black seas, and judge dredd are great. Also like cruel seas but don’t feel it’s very balanced.
5:36 - Newbies to the game might wonder how come the infantry piling out of the vehicle didn't have the same to-hit number as the vehicle itself (i.e., '5' vs. '6': 3+cover+small target), given that the infantry moved as well. It's important to mention that U.S. troops firing with M1s and BARs don't suffer the -1 shooting penalty when moving due to the army's special rules of "Fire & Maneuver". 😉
This was a great little taste and the explanations really helped me as a complete noob. Really looking forward to getting into this game.

Been playing Bolt action for a bit, and it is my favourite wargaming game ^^
Bolt Action is a fabulous rules set. And while I encourage people to support Warlord Games, you don't necessarily have to use 'official' models to play the game. There are tons of alternative models for the numerous forces available in the game, so playing Bolt Action doesn't break the bank, and you can play with what models you want. For example, I don't like the fact that Warlord vehicles are 1/56 scale (which I think is much too small); I built and painted 1/48 scale vehicles that I picked up from traditional model manufacturers, and I feel the models are much more appropriate.
Jay seems way too concentrated on winning lol. Seems like one of those guys who isn't having fun if he's losing lol

Another good WW2 wargame worth looking at is Flames of War. At 15mm scale the models are smaller so the game plays up at a 'reinforced company' level rather than the 'reinforced platoon' level you get in Bolt Action.

So a few questions as a new starter to Bolt Action.
Q1. The US Engineer squad has a flame thrower, two BAR's (LMG's) and apparently two machine guns? Maybe the rules are different for the US forces but how many machine guns can you field in a squad, particularly an understrength squad?
Q2. The US troops are facing early war Germans??? Are the second squad Heer, standard German infantry, which makes sense because no armour, or Grenadiers which are an elite-ish unit? They can't be both.
Q3. What was with the shot at Game Workshop. I hear this a bit on Bolt Action vid's. You guys are so intimidated by GW you can't miss a chance to troll them? Why can't you just play and enjoy this game. I play about 20 different wargaming systems without rancour on any of them. By the way, you do know that the designers of Bolt Action were former GW developers right.
Q4. What the hell is a Belford armoured car? No mention of the guns in it by the way. From what I can make out the vehicle is an SdKfz222 light armoured car with an anti-aircraft gun squeezed in, lets not go with the rest of it.
So I am thinking, if you and the other videos I have seen have this inferiority complex about GW where you have to troll them, and your historical continuity is all over the place without context or explanation, and this is representative of the Bolt Action community, I will only be gaming with my son only. We don't need the toxicity or historical ignorance. We can game other systems in games clubs.

@@DailyCorvid the only friends i have like that play D&D at the comic shop in the city i work in and in their oversized basement where they have built an entire island out of Styrofoam and duct tape lol. My middle child will play these sometimes. I have alot of D&D sets and campaigns but never have actually had the chance to play with anyone. ive played a couple times in a virtual community similar to how you see people play on role 20.
Unlike modern 40k.. This actaully looks like a battle field! 3rd to 5th 40k used to be like this. I hate the terrain for 9th/10th. Too focused on competitive play.

If Joe is playing Americans, i believe they have the M1 Gaurand special rule where they dont get a -1 move penalty for shooting those semiautomatic rifles.

If anyone knows, I maybe missed it in the intro. What is that German armoured car that almost looks like the Sdkfz 251 hanomag half track (but isn't)?
Ah I suddenly remembered the Sdkfz 257, I think the same that had a version that could shift from being tracked to wheeled (and back). This, if I'm right, being the fully wheeled version.
I don't know what it is, but it feels like every wargame that isn't 40k has AMAZING terrain. Why is that?

Talking about list building, if you’re German never pick the stug. It’s too expensive for what it is (despite historically being one of the most important and numerous German tanks). Always pay marginally more for the much better panzer 4.
The moral tests and the whole roll to do what feels like anything at all (moving vehicle, getting out of it) seem way too swingy. Losing 50% of a squad and not being able to move at all to one bad roll you can do nothing about doesn't sound fun to me personally.

Its going to take them ages to finish and even more time if they do all the side content. Even the people who got the game a week early almost all of them I have seen haven't finished the main story. I saw one guy who claimed he finished it and didn't do almost any of the side content but he could also be lying because nobody is going to want to ask for proof.
Imagine if he could just make another channel dedicated to board games…… that way people that actually care can keep up and those who want to keep notifications on but not be reminded of every time he plays a board game can both be happy but angry joe is either lazy or depressed as he will never actually put in work for his fan bases yes I said bases cause we are not United it’s called constructive criticism the same I way I can supposedly ignore the notifications I get hit with like 4 times a week getting my hopes up that the man actually put out a video I might care about, you can ignore this comment….

True gaming is coming back to the table. Corporate encroachment on video game development has destroyed the art form and made it less relevant than it’s tangible counterparts. Book readers know that the content found on the page blows what you can find on the screen out of the water, but there was a golden age of cinema where that wasn’t true…..but again corporate encroachment killed the art form. Join us on the table brother. It is the only way.

Look I know I'm some fucking nobody making a post on a video I, frankly, didn't watch, but somethings gotta be said about Baldur's Gate. I looked for an email address I could send this to but didn't see one.
This game is the change we've been waiting for. It is the new GOLD STANDARD for the industry. The response from the AAA devs has been (paraphrasing) "this is not the standard, it is an anomaly."
That CANNOT be the response. You have one of the biggest and most influential voices on the platform and you HAVE to say something. Fuck waiting for the review. This has GOT to be addressed before these companies think they can slip back into the status-quo.
Look, sorry to do it like this but I had to say something. Please say something before the AAA devs have a chance to bury Larian's masterpiece.

Cool miniatures, but it's sad that the symbol got left out. However offended, you might be to see a swastika it's erasing a part of history. However, dark that part of history might be.
Warlord does not send the models with that symbol. Only the cross symbol used for air identification
