    I have some helpful tips as someone who has eczema:
    Keep your nails very short
    Do not have long hot showers, keep them short and warm temperature
    Do not use shower gels/soaps that are stripping, contain SLS and contain fragrance - use something like Aveeno body wash
    Stay clean and keep your clothes clean (Wash them with hypo-allergenic detergents)
    Wash your hands with Dermol 500 Lotion (not the regular hand soaps, they dry out the skin and cause flare ups)
    Avoid fragrance at all costs, especially in skincare, candles, perfumes etc.
    Apply cream to body straight after showering while body is still damp, it helps trap in the water, I like Eucerin
    A cool mist humidifier is great to have in your bedroom to keep the skin hydrated
    Do not wear wool or other irritating materials
    Know what you are allergic to so you can avoid - you can get allergy tested with a dermatologist
    If you use steroid creams, use a very thin layer for a short amount of time as they can thin the skin.
    Hope this helps someone!

      I had the same exact problem and I can tell you the cure for Eczema is the SUN. Also, Eczema suffers have too much acid in their blood therefore they need to be on a Alkaline diet. Follow this protocol for HEALING and in the meantime if you need something for bedtime you can take an antihistamine such as Claritin and if you still have flare ups ask your doctor to prescribe you Singulair to take with it. Thanks, God Bless

    Edited: Also, I'm surprised to hear about the sample packs you mentioned. I would've loved the opportunity to try those, I've spent a lot of money trying different kinds of emollients for most of my adult-life.

    I found using a Ceramide based cream on damp skin straight out the shower has made the biggest impact and avoiding known irritants. Check out the local nhs formulary as they often list each product by ingredients known to be irritating. And remember the nhs will give you the cheapest version first, whether or not that contains irritants like triethalamine (spelling)

I used to get it a lot as a child, but as I've reached my 20s it flares up a lot, like itchy then it turns into red blotches that look irritated to others who look at it. I've used Aqueous cream BP and it's wonderful! It's ironic that I suffer with this and I'm allergic to Llanolin xD great advice as ever! Really has helped me out tons., 😁😁

Also I have noticed if I eat ice cream it makes my eczema worse. I live in the U.S. so it’s probably some awful preservative in the ice cream here.

In the context of the bad effects of Sodium Laureth Sulphate, I was shocked to discover that it's in nearly every shampoo and soap I have at home - even coal tar shampoo which I bought specifically for eczema. I need to find alternatives. Regarding emollients, is E45 Cream OK (it contains sodium cetostearyl sulphate, among other ingredients). Thanks again.

    I get eczema on my hands. Now that I think about it, I think may have eczema all over my whole body; reasons being: 1. My bras have latex in them and I noticed I get really itchy if I wear them to bed. 2. I always take hot showers and I noticed my face gets dry red blotches all over it; however, the red spots do go away after a short time. 3. In winter my feet, lower legs, also my hands get extremely dry because of the cold dry air. 4. Certain shampoos give me an itchy scalp. 5. I have sensitivity to strong smells and perfume or most scented products. Is it possibly related to eczema? 6. Any sweat or bodily fluid makes me feel itchy. I often scratch my skin to the point of it bleeding. Do these symptoms mean that I have eczema on my whole body?

      A Vitamin B deficiency can wreak havoc on your skin, causing acne, rashes, dry and flaky skin, cracked lips, and wrinkles. It can also make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, personal care products, and other potential aggressors, and can accordingly lead to redness and irritation.

      I have had eczema since more than 20 yrs. Last year I prayed really hard that i find some treatment for it. After that I found it had a direct connection with the food I eat. Eliminating gluten and sugar has made a huge difference for me. I also try my best to eat clean otherwise too. I take apple cider vinegar and milk thistle supplement, which improves liver function and as a result, helps with eczema. One week ago i started applying and taking black seed oil as well, i see some improvement with that as well. My eczema is a lot better with these things, although not 100% gone. You will have to work on whats triggering your eczema and what helps it. Good luck!

    • @AbrahamThePharmacist
      @AbrahamThePharmacist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for commenting A.J. not really the most common form of eczema is a condition that causes the skin to become itchy, dry and cracked.

      Got the same issue, still have no clue what it is either but there should be something for it, you put it on before exercising or whatever and you shouldn't be itchy after

    • @banandababa
      @banandababa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Perhaps it is exercised-induced cholinergic urticaria? It is a condition in which increased body temperatures trigger the swelling of the skin and the formation of hives. This is sometimes called 'runners itch' but it usually gets better as you build up stamina! Or it could also be your skin being irritated by your own sweat. It could be the shower gel/soap you use when you shower after the gym that is irritating your skin. Or it could be an allergic reaction to the tight gym material or detergent/friction causing an itch. Showering immediately after exercising can be helpful as if you stay in the work out clothes it can be occlusive and itchy.

      I had bad eczema on palms of hands with cracks, the best thing I found was dermovate or a strong steroid cream and wear the disposable/surgical gloves (not ones with talc in them), for as long as you can, all night or longer. It keeps the steroid active for longer, it will comes back but it helps though.
