I'm really glad Kiara released an official version of Sad Sparks, her performance during the outfit reveal was so good that it really deserved its own video.
And even though this version had no mixing and was just done live, Kiara's voice is so powerful and beautiful that it didn't even need it.
I really hope she does more songs that focus on the power of her voice.
I'll say it again: I never knew I needed a sad version of this song until I heard it. In contrast to the upbeat "kick" that the original gives you on days when you need motivation... This version feels like a "hug" for days you need a softer approach.

When you think about it in retrospective, the technical difficulties in the outfit reveal were meant to be. Thanks to them, this version of SPARKS became a lot more meaningful in my eyes, because it's not just a sad version of an energetic banger. It's a story on its own. And it's a beautiful one.

I love it. Im a singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist, so almost all of the music ive ever made or performed has been a live performance, so hearing sad sparks in this same format really warms a special place in my heart. Theres something so visceral about a live rendition of a song, where the imperfections in your voice make the emotion behind it so much more powerful and alive. So thank you for giving KFP this gorgeous rendition of sparks.
I love Kiara's singing voice, damn this is amazing. It didn't need mixing to be incredible. And it has similar vibes to Bokura No Ashiato which showcases her singing talent.

The sadness in your voice elevates the song so much. I really think it is better without having it mixed, the rawness of its more lo fi performance gives it much more heart than if it were fully produced. Really a hauntingly beautiful cover, like nothing we've ever gotten from you before
I wish Kiara would do a original song like this, her voice shines for me really in slower, more emotional songs not the hyper cute/energie songs she did so far. But hey thats just my opinion ofcourse she can do what she wants, just voicing my taste

This seems like a sad version, but this like a sad version where everything has gone to hell but there is a glimmer of hope, its like telling your self not to give up. Never let go of that spark. Even its not a good day, you still have a little happiness to know that no matter what happens youll know things can get better and they will.
Sad Sparks is at this point, my favourite hololive original. Thrilled that it finally gets an official version
1 year later and I still wish this version was up on Kiara's Spotify channel.
2021 was the worst year for me, a year when luckily I did not lose anyone, but I almost lost myself because of a stupidly complicated situation that culminated this summer. The original Sparks was one of the things that helped me change in order to move on, and even if I am only at the start line, the fact that I am there to begin with means a lot more than words can express. And as much as the original has a special place in my heart, I cannot hide that I nearly cried during the live performance, remembering those moments of depression and sadness and thinking about the unknown future that is coming.
All this to say: Thank you Kiara ❤

Sparks has been my favorite Phoenix original since it's release. I can feel more of the fighter/part-time warrior in you when I listen to it. It's a call to action. I do enjoy Hinotori and Heart Challenger. They're very happy and upbeat songs, and they make me smile when I'm feeling down, just like you, Tenchou! However, I've wanted you to explorer something a little darker for quite some time.
Sad Sparks is everything I didn't know that I wanted in a Kiara original. The softness of your voice in contrast to the sharpness of the piano accompaniment was haunting. The call to action from the original is still there, but it feels like it's been framed a little differently. If Sparks is "Get up and go", then Sad Sparks is "Get back up and go". IDK, I might just be talking nonsense lol.
However, I really enjoyed what you did here, and I hope that you branch out a little more into this new musical territory! 👏👏👏👏👏

my mom is incredibly good at piano herself and always played either it or the guitar while i was growing up. it's cause of that that those 2 are my favorite instruments. it was cause of my moms passion for music that all of us can sing well and, in the very least, dabble in at least 1 musical instrument. i'll never be the level of my mother or grandfather (he is/was an INSANE steel guitar player) but i can strum out a song or two. keep that musical talent up Kiara. it was definitely enjoyable to listen to.

It may be mellow, but to me it isn't sad. As I'll always remember what that moment ment to me and countless others in KFP. Like literally, I counted and stopped after 189 chimkens I talked to. And I'll always associate this song with all the emotions that got released then. Crying 10/10, but out of happiness not sadness

I legit love this version! 🧡 In fact, I think I even prefer this one over the original. It's more focused on emotions and we hear your voice a lot more. It makes everything better in my opinion. 😊
Remarkable how the upbeat and motivational Sparks can be so emotional and evoke feelings of despair and sadness. But just like the OG this version is beautiful and a treat to listen to, as expected from an alternate version of my favourite song of yours.
It may be sad but it is also calming and serene. This is like a song after a major tragic event happened and you try to lift yourself back up while being overwhelmed with negative emotions.
The original feels like igniting a burning drive in yourself while this feels more like rising from the ashes and not letting the embers in yourself go out.
I love this contrast! I think both these interpretations fit you well.

I could totally see this playing in a coming-of-age movie. The upbeat version plays in the beginning to signal how happy and new and cool everything is, then this version plays during the emotional breakdown montage, and then the upbeat version returns for the finale or ending scenes as a remix with even more energy to show that everything's okay again.
