I was in NC a couple weeks ago from Vegas taking care of some family stuff. I had a chance to stop by RG Motorsports on my way from Charlotte to Elkin and all I can say is what a b@d a$$ facility. KC showed me around and I met Shrek, it was like hanging out with stars/actors from my favorite TV series. These guys are non-stop, top-notch individuals! RG has a great crew, ProDirt level for sure! The Speed UTV is hands down going to be the UTV of the Year, can't wait to see it on the cover of DirtWheels Magazine. I am Master# 1352 and am going to forever keep the flagship El Diablo RG Edition UTV as an American staple of when things finally changed in the UTV industry.
Coming from the aerospace industry, I can unequivocally say, supply chain disruption is the worst I have ever seen it. Our suppliers went from 2 to 4 week lead times to 180 days+. And that's on products with existing molds of proven products. We are 100% DFARS as well. So this is not only an import issue, it's stateside as well. I look forward to the finished goods and wouldn't want my car rushed. 1st article parts are ultra critical to get right. Be smart, be patient, and understand the value being created through design & review.
doesn't matter. None of their current or future offerings are even in the same ball park as this car. All can am and polaris offerings need work right off the showroom floor - doors, harnesses, tires/wheels, suspension reinforcements, suspension improvements, better seats, AT MINIMUM, to compete with what Speed is offering right off the showroom floor(once available).
Pretty hard to say they arent in the ballpark of speed when not even one of these machines has been released. How many years have they been at it 3? Also im pretty sure can am and polaris sold more machines in the last two years then they ever have. When this economy collapses it will be too little too late for speed they missed the bus and their machine appears too tailored to one community and is way too big for most trails. I went from a 2014 rzr xp4 to a 21 rzr pro and they are night and day difference. If you think polaris and can am dont have an answer for this with being an established company with a lot of money you are lying to yourself.
@@tylerpage163 have you followed the Speed progress you need to. The current design is years ahead of Polaris n cam am. It's not just about hp or track width or suspension travel. They all need to marry well together, have proper suspension geometry, and be built on a full tube chassis and have double shear everything. Only one company so far can claim that. Yes, I know they aren't on showroom floors, but it's coming, soon. I guarantee you that Polaris or can am will NEVER build a car that needs nothing, let alone one with proper structure and suspension geometry. They've been at it 13 years and still haven't answered the call of the desert rat or duner.
@@tylerpage163 can am added 5hp and a few gussets to a 5 year old car for MY22. Game changer! Their suspension geometry is still crap, still needs other reinforcements, and a real cage. Polaris' isn't much better, and they dropped the only car going for them for MY22(turbo S). The new Pro R, if it ever comes out, will still have inherently flawed suspension geometry, is rumored to be N/A, so adding power is going to be $$$$, and may require full vehicle registration and different insurance to own since it's also rumored to be over 1000cc($$$). And you contradicted yourself disagreeing with my statement about not being in the ballpark and then also saying this car is tailored to a certain audience. the baja inspired suspension, extra wide stance, and turnkey 300hp option is exactly what a certain audience wants. Speed will never have a market share over the big two, but in the SW desert/dune/high speed trail market this car will flat out dominate.
Because it was, in his eyes. The bean counters and lawyers wouldn't let him do what he told them NEEDED to be done to compete in the industry. for an N/A car it is probably the best offering in terms of overall design, but it's a dog in the dunes, and like any other currently offered sxs in the industry, it needs add-ons/improvements right off the showroom floor.
@@bodywerks What add on's did it need? XX has best stock suspension out there thanks to RG and they are a solid car. The only reason it did not out sell X3 RZR was 2 simple things HP and 4 seater and thats why RG made that statement. If the XX came out with at least same HP as the others, game changer. Actually same can be said with Honda/Kawi. If those came with high HP they would have eaten alot of sales from X3 and RZR.
@@jbl91762 wider stance and more HP, a LOT more, at the very least. Kawi has a nice car, too, with pretty good suspension geometry, but same thing, too narrow and not enough HP. Portals with the proper gear reduction will take a ton of stress off the drivetrain. You potentially could go from 34" tires to 40" tires without added stress other than rotational mass.
