    First of all @Dave Webb, thank you so much for your tutorials, I learnt a lot with them.🙌
    I read in the documentation that if you want to be stereo, you should place all the stereo effects at the end of the chain.
    If you put some AMP or MONO effect after an stereo effect, you will loose the stereo effect.
    I read this in the PDF Parameter Guide, page 8, Master Delay.
    I think it applies to all effects, not only Delays, but all is to try and see.
    Thank you for your videos, love it!!🎉

      From memory I think it was trial and error.
      I wanted my rig in stereo so tried a few different things until I realised what was going on & figured it out.

    Great vid on the stereo set up, I have ? on running 4 wire thru my amp, I am experimenting with 2 separate ways 1. traditional 4 wire plus using the sub out to the PA , which is pretty strait forward you have to adjust the sub out and in my case had to do ground lift on my main out. 2nd way is giving me a slight issue, using traditional 4 wire with the amp, but running an amp sim and IR to the sub out to give the sound man more control, but I cannot use my loop effects on both yet separate for both outputs. Was wondering if you see a way to do the second way. Also I am using the GT-1000 non CORE version. Your vids on the GT-1000 were one of the reasons for choosing it, and even if i cannot get the second method to work its still great piece of Kit and has been great in every way. Thanks for all your vids.

    Routing possibilities are amazing. As long as you don't want to use it as an IR loader. Because how Boss handles speaker emulation.

    • @DaveWebbMusic
      @DaveWebbMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah IR slots are limited, and a hassle to load. Personally I’m beginning to use the in built cab sims more anyway.

    • @TrumpetsInMy4x12
      @TrumpetsInMy4x12 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaveWebbMusic I don't mean that. That's another irritation entirely :)
      I mean if I want to connect my amp in 4cm and send a feed to FOH with a cab sim; Boss makes this almost impossible with how they handle speaker emulation. It should be an IR/cab block that is movable and not tied to the amp block.
      Boss cabs are my favorite IRs to use with anything. They did good in that regard to my ears.

    Hey Dave great video!
    I was hoping you could explain the purpose for stereo and mono rig? I just realized the headrush has stereo and mono and as a beginner to an instrument i have no clue as to what all that is for and why?
    How does each affect pedals? Oh and can you make a video how to explain tap tempo on the headrush and how it affects sound??
    Thanks Dave your the best brother!

    • @DaveWebbMusic
      @DaveWebbMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man. Hope you’re well.
      Think of mono like your using an amp and a cab, just like the good ol’ days. As an example, in a 2 guitar line up, one guy on each side in mono just makes sense.
      Stereo these days is so much easier to achieve. In an at home setup it’s really cool hearing those stereo effects and wide guitars. Really helps it feel like you’re “in the sound”.
      I use stereo in my band because it’s only 1 guitar and I want things to sound bigger, so I spread things and have some effects in stereo.
      It can get complicated, but experiment and try things out because it can sound really freaking cool and is fun!
      Another way of using stereo is a wet/dry rig. Which is basically dry on one side, effects on the other. Either spread, or blended together. This type of thing gets tricky, I don’t do it much because I’m still getting myself up to speed. Haha
      I’ll add a tap tempo vid to my ‘to do’ list and hopefully get it done for ya asap.

    Hi. I have 1 speaker (headrush frfr 108) on stage. I want stereo out through PA system (sub) and mono on stage (headrush frfr 108). Is that possible to get on the GT 1000? Thanks.

    • @DaveWebbMusic
      @DaveWebbMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Tom. From what I can tell, it’s totally doable.
      The GT1000 Core can use the SEND as a sub out, so that would be your mono stage send, mains output stereo to FOH.
      This obviously means you lose your FX loop though.
      The full GT1000 has a few more options.

    Great video!!
    I use it in all of my presets but....😂 I have a problem...when i spread to 20 or 15 or whatever ,always the one speaker in my inear is louder!!in all of my sounds!
    I have to tweak to 80:100 to hear exactly the same level in both speakers!!I try it in different speakers,different inear,i also went to doctor to check my ears 😂
    I notice every time i panning the left and the right with this trick and use spread the B channel is around 4 db higher!

    • @DaveWebbMusic
      @DaveWebbMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How interesting. Do you use 2 amps, or just the one?
      I do encounter some imbalance occasionally, and I’m sure one ear is worse than the other, but I haven’t had to do that. Yet…

    • @evangelosevangelou
      @evangelosevangelou ปีที่แล้ว

      @DaveWebbMusic I use one amp in some presets! In my acoustic preset I don't use an amp! So if I put spread 0-20 when I play by my own I think its ok! The strange thing is when I put music to play with my preset, the sound is unbalanced,and in live situation with band also, I hear it from one ear louder! When I put the spread to 50 when I play alone or with music, the balance right left is ok but with a tiny problem! If you play RHYTHM, you will feel the latency from one ear,if you play straight chords or arpegio slow will not notice!!!Strange thinks my friend!!I have also hx stomp and i make the same trick with delay and the sound its ok in both ears balanced

  • @AngelPl4y3r
    @AngelPl4y3r 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Got a question for you man, by doing this do I have to use both left and right outputs with two different speakers? or the simulated signals are added up with the spread into a mono signal into my speaker?

    • @DaveWebbMusic
      @DaveWebbMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can still do this using the mono output. Using the spread feature would just add a different effect to it but wouldn’t add any width.
      Would be a great way to blend 2 different cabs together.

    A mono guitar sounds just like this: *chugging around with the best sound in the whole video*
    Good explained video though, but I really think the sound suffered the more you tweaked it. A little detuning, maybe 2 cent, and a short delay on one side is really all it needs.
    That being said, there is so much a 3 piece band can do. Rush comes to mind, Live in Rio is a great album and they had no backing tracks or hidden musicians, just tons of instruments, amps, synths and samplers. I think putting everything in small boxes takes away from the magic. I also have a (real) 3 amp setup and was thinking of downgrading to a boss core 1000...

    • @DaveWebbMusic
      @DaveWebbMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comments man!
      The split for me serves a purpose at the moment, and I do quite enjoy it. I think there could still be some tweaking to be done, that’s half the fun right!
      Downsizing to a digital unit is so ridiculously practical! I also have a couple of real amps that I use, but I haven’t gigged them for years.
      Personally, the feel of the Boss GT Core is why I use it the most of anything.

  • @JohnnyOskam
    @JohnnyOskam 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m pretty sure you’re not doing this right. When you activate the spread knob, what you’re really doing is taking a mono, mixed signal of both cabs and introducing a slight delay to one side to give it a faux stereo sound. To make it so that one cab is on the left and one cab is on the right, you need to actually put the outputs in the divider. You have them after the divider in this video.

    • @DaveWebbMusic
      @DaveWebbMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You got me questioning myself, so I just tried it out but what I am doing is correct.
      With the cabs in the divider, I’m not sure what is happening but it sounds like the direct level from the amp is still there, and the cabs don’t respond correctly.
      However with them after the divider, I turned the left mix down so I’m only hearing the right side, and changed the cab on the left. If it was a blend (faux stereo) there would be a change in the audio, but there isn’t. Same thing the other way as well.
      So from what I can tell, it is routed so that left goes to the left main out, right goes to the right main out.

    • @JohnnyOskam
      @JohnnyOskam 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DaveWebbMusic It's kind of frustrating that the behaviors of the cabs and the stereo stuff isn't super straight forward isn't it. I wish boss made this more intuitive. You're probably right, since you tested it. But I think a more intuitive way is to put them in the divider and then drag the L and R outputs to each path in the divider. Like the L on the top and R on the bottom or vice versa.

    • @DaveWebbMusic
      @DaveWebbMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with you that it isn’t very straight forward. It took me a while to understand it to the point where I am at.
