  • During our trip to Kenya we stopped by Meru National Park and Kora National Reserve. Both places hold the legacy of the amazing George Adamson and his wife Joy.
Adamsons Falls, Bridge, Kampi Ya Simba, Elsa's grave (where Joy's ashes were scattered) and Pippa's grave
Places that will stay with me forever

A very beautifully made, moving and sad tribute to a wonderful man who cared deeply for lions and the animals he shared his life with living in Kora. Thank you for everything you did George. Your legacy still lives on after all these years. You are gone, but will never be forgotten. Thank you for inspiring me, and my love for Africa and its wild animals.

This truly did bring tears to my eyes. I have been a fan of the Born Free story and of the people that made it happen since I was a child. Truly wonderful video.

Are you kidding me, who didn't watch born free as a kid. I am in in my fifties now, but George is the original lion whisperer. He did it first for the lions, now we have Kevin and Dean. Things have changed so much, we be lucky in the next fifty years to have any more wild lions left

@@lisalane7916 I have seen born free. I pains to say all this will be gone in a century or so, only wildlife left will be in the zoos. As of right now it may be that there are more domesticated animals than in wild.

I stayed with George Adamson and Tony and 22 lions at the Kora camp in 1977. This leaves me with beautiful memories.

Much respect to the great lion man George! I have read the books written about George’s Life and the Lions he worked with. I remember Joy Adamson had a Cheetah for a pet and all she went through trying to get Pippa to go Wild! George was a great man and the world needs to learn about all he accomplish for Lions! Thank You Sir for sharing your life’s work! A’ho

Thank you so much for making this tribute to the Great George Adamson and his Lions .... indeed Baba Ya Simba ... may the work he started and his memory be forever etched into the timeless landscape of Kora and Meru. George was buried near his beloved Boy and whatever became of the charismatic Christian (also in the photographs ), let us just say they are all now in Paradise and Paradise is Kora and Meru.

Thank you for sharing this video. I believe this picture @1:01 was Christian with Tony Fitzjohn who had also recently passed in May 2022. RIP. He joined George in 1971 and had continued George's works until the end. I hope their works and efforts live on such that the lions and wildlife have their habitats respected.

I first heard about George Adamson when I first heard about Christian the lion George said that out of all the lions he's rehabilitated for life in the wild Christian was the easiest as in Christian was the easiest one to rehabilitate thank you so much for making this video it made me cry.

I strongly believe that most of the people who've watch & love this movie is already a grandparent. As this movie aired in the late 60's/early 70's,,,& when I watch it today in 2021 along with the photos of their graves. I feel like,,,,, hard for me to say. As all those people, places, etc that I love & know is disappearing. One by one
It's very sad. Now I cherish the memories of the past & try to enjoy life to the fullest.....before stuck on a bed or a wheelchair 😅
TQ for sharing this photos. May The Almighty bless you'll 😍

It's such a shame to see the grave stones of George, his brother and his lion "boy" falling apart. He was a legend who will never exist again. He is a big part of history. Really sad. And now with John Rendall passing in Jan. 2022 even more living history is disappearing.

Beautifully done tribute to George but I would like to know why the Kenyan government has not made a museum at Kora about his life long legacy of rehabilitating lions. Also why haven't they put up a statue of George & Joy Adamson. The Kenyan govenment promised Tony Fitzjohn that they would do these things...

To say there will be no Wildlife left except in zoos is heartbreaking. Heartbreaking because to survive in the wild is handed down generation to generation and without parents and prides passing on that information the young wouldn't survive and just become domesticated pets. Like Elsa shed be rejected by other prides of lions and to leave her in the wild would have been a death sentence. The story goes she found a mate had her babies which she introduced to George and sadly became ill and died of a blood disease. It breaks your heart wondering how her babies survived and her Lion mate. Lets pray we all meet up again free from pain and fear once we've crossed the Rainbow Bridge into God's heavenly kingdom. Amen.
