The ghoul that recognized Lucy, was the one that thanked her, when she released them from the Super Duper Mart.
The Ghoul has been doing sidequests for 200 years, hit the level cap ages ago, and finally decided to progress the main quest
He's just been waiting on the expansion all this time so he could increase the level cap to make the main quest easier.

Vault 31 was for junior executives. Barb was an executive, above Bud. She was going to a vault that controlled all the vaults, not just 2 of them.
The ghoul who said 'it's her' was one of those she released from the organ harvesters, the ghoul who said thankyou.
He didn't go to a "random" house to find information. He killed the guy's son who had that letter which had parts that were no longer legible due to blood.
Yeah, that was a weird critique. Just because someone’s famous doesn’t mean everyone knows where they live. Most people know the Rock but I doubt they’d be able to point out on a map exactly where he’s sleeping at any given time.
Lucy was a little kid when she was outside of the vault. She said she remembered what seemed like the sun but thought it had to be the lights because kids at that age have poor memories.
lol. It's ironic she mentioned it earlier in the show she felt the sun and they're like like, "She has no memory of that?" When they have no memory of her pointing out the fact she does remember it. I'm speechless
And, if she was told from then on that she had never been outside the vault, it is relatively easy for her memories to become shaped that way. As human memory isn't like a video camera, it is recreated from bits and pieces over and over. Far more corruptable.

Lucy remembers what she was told by those that told her stories. Her reality is what was created for her before she had consciousness capability to create it for herself.
Even if she held on to her own actual memories from that young it's proven that everytime you recall a memory you (unintentionally) alter that memory just a little bit. Do that enough and eventually you have similar but distinctly different memories.
Also factor in how people frame their memory. A child that gets scolded for trying to touch a hot stove may remember mommy mad it her but from an adult mental frame mommy was protecting her child. Personality disorders are formed at this young age when the mind can't make sense of what's happening.
Basically, great job of remembering when you were four but the reality of that time period is very likely to be different than what your toddler mind could comprehend.
There's a good chance that Lucy and Maximus played together as kids when they both lived in Shady Sands. But the memory faded away.

They turned it into a FOB to support their ops in this part of the wasteland.
Mom became a ghol when the dad nuked shady....radiation makes ghols...
And lucy tells a memory about her mom early in the season...about the sun felling real..
At the beginning of the series Lucy mentioned that as a kid she sometimes thought the vaults imitation sunlight was real and swore she could feel the warmth from it. This is because it was the real sun.
They arent in Vault 31...that vault is for JUNIOR executives for Buds program. Barb was not a junior executive.
I’m very curious how Moldaver lived that long too.

I love their reactions regardless but they're not alone in holding the releasing of Lucy's dad against him. No worries.
Cooper's wife, Barbara is not in Vault 31. Vault 31 is a Vault for Junior Executives. Hank was Barbara's Executive Assistant. She was a Senior Executive & quite possibly the right hand woman to the big boss, who was observing that meeting from the shadows of the observation deck.
Even though I really like Lucy, I'm gonna have to say The Ghoul is my favorite.
Anyway, really enjoyed your reactions to this series. Mrs. TV, not to be confused w/alter ego Mrs. Movies, 😄 I also really enjoyed the soundtrack.😊
His family isn’t in 31. 31 is lower management. His wife was an executive.
31 is for junior management,coop's wife talked about getting in a vault for management,wich oversees all the other vaults.

What I love about this show is that it integrates itself into the stories of the game series. It doesn't retell one of the games (like The Last of Us), or retell something new (like The Witcher). It continues the story of the game series. It's an approach I saw recently with Enter the Matrix (although in this case it was done the other way around: a game was made to complement a movie) and I just love it. There should be more of it. But it's important that the creators of the series are fans of the game series themselves. Then it has the best chance of being a success.
In the Closed Captioning Bud's brain is credited as "Brain on Roomba".
Yeah I noticed that too. It was supposed to be a Robobrain?
I'm gonna have to disagree with one thing you said at the end, The Ghoul didn't have to go to any town to try to find Moldaver, he went there to get The Target. It was much later that he went after Moldaver and tracked her location by asking the lead farmer, so it wasn't a flaw in the show at all.

I feel bad for the populace who all just got power because I’m certain the brotherhood took it away right after this
yeah, a lot of people miss that he says the likes of you and just assume he wants maximus specifically at his side

“Win the crowd” Max will have the backing of the rank and file. Can see them trying to push him out of favor next season.
I took that to mean that the Brotherhood was going to need more than just him and Maximus, but other knights like Maximus as well. The Botherhood's sword consists of multiple knights.
maximus may not be book smart but compared to the rest of the brotherhood, he's a pretty cunning guy. if the brotherhood tries to kill him off, they don't really have anybody like that to replace him with.
I wonder if it's less about the transmitter's range, and more that Vault-Tec jams signals travelling in and out of the building.

Happens when you are reacting while watching for the first time, we have to talk... you know to make it a reaction. Sometimes it cuts into dialogue. We don't know when things are happening or when an important part may happen... We still got it. Vault Tec dropped the bombs. Mrs. Movies even says it like 30 seconds later herself.

Remember Lucy said that she used to think the big light in vault was the real sun on her skin. It really was.
I find it odd that so many reactors are xonfused as to how Moldaver is still alive. She figured out Cold Fusion and had her company bought out something tells me she is wicked smart with a ton of cash back in the day to get a shelter and cryo pod setup.
Lucy’s mom was in the outer blast radius of the nuke. That’s why she’s all burnt up and half of her skull is exposed.
I love you saying 'they' for Dane. Its a tiny thing that brings so many people joy. I'm so happy youve enjoyed this show... I cannot wait for the next season already!!!
Hank didn't only nuke Shady Sands because his wife went there. It was competition. A city with 34,000 people the seat of the NCR government. The emergency of civilization, infrastructure, governance. It was a rival to vault tec, it was competition and thus to be exterminated so only civilization would be vaultec. Now Hank is a bit of a sociopath so punishing the city which sheltered his wife was likely a bonus but they didn't waste a nuke simply over his wife.
Lucy is special to him. That is why he chose to go with Moldava instead of letting her hold Lucy for ransom after the Raider raid. That was one reason why he didn't just kill Lucy when he had the chance.

Lucy had memories of the surface as in one episode she was talking to Max and was saying about she thought she could feel the warmth of the sun when she was a child but it was so long ago that she since believed it was the bulb and scenery in the vault.
I can see how people think the vault 4 stuff is "filler", but it is actually really important. It is where Lucy first learns that not all vaults are the same and that vaults are not necessarily what they seem, and that Vault-Tec can't be trusted. She likely would not have beleieved Moldavor without that previous exposure to those concepts. Yes Moldavor's story did jog her memories of being a kid and being outside, but you can also plant false meories that way too. She was that much more confident that those were really her memories and that what Moldavor was saying was the truth because of her experience in vault 4.
They took over Filly for mulitple reasons but also cause that's where they left the last squire and lost contact with "Titus"

I love the summary! This is the first time I've seen Mrs. Movies so excited about a video game adaptation! This franchise has so much potential to tell endless of ingenious post-apocalyptic end-times stories. I can't wait to see season 2, 3 and 4 !!! **fingers crossed**
A couple of "back from the brink" and "rebirth and rebuilding" stoies could also be added into the mix. Especially if they wouldn't completely kill off NCR as a state in the future seasons.
War never changes because wars were mostly fought to make someone rich. War is profitable. But Vault-tec had cold fusion. If everyone on earth have cold fusion to give them free energy for electricity and clean water, where would be the profit in that. The Resource War was fought for control of the limited natural resources. If everyone had free energy that would be one less thing to fight for.
Would Hank have nuked Shady Sands if he had known it was originally set up by vault dwellers? Yes because they broke away from the Vault-Tec central premise. The car Bud is driving looks like a Messerschmitt KR200 from the 1960s.
He probably did know but because it threatened the purpose of Vaults 31, 32, & 33 he eliminated that threat. Vault Tec wanted to eliminate Factions and bring the world under their control but then they out sourced their vaults to other corporations to make money thereby creating many different factions after the war. Great example of flawed corporate thinking.

Your right, but even if it wasn't the case, people always divide into different factions one way or another, it seems an intrinsic part of being human for better and worse.

yeah i missed it the first time, but it's cool that they're referencing some of the lesser known fallout lore. the brain in a jar also comes from new vegas and that dlc in particular. would be cool to see a yes man in the next season.
Bud was driving a Messerschmitt KR200 or Kabinenroller (Cabin Scooter) a three-wheeled bubble car, made by the German aircraft producer Messerschmitt.
I just noticed that, when Bud's strange little car pulls up at the Vault-Tec building, and then again when he's a Roomba, the car radio and the Roomba are playing the tune the Village band frequently plays in the Patrick McGoohan series The Prisoner.
Oh no. That was the absolute worst spot to speak and miss what she said. Like the worst spot in the entire 8 episodes. That was an immense NUCLEAR plot point.

Also the official character stats have Max Int the same as The Ghouls. Its his charisma that is low as his speech checks constantly fail .
The roombah Bert's brain is on is actually the same design as his car.
At the Vaultec meeting, notice Robert House of Rob-co was the only one not buying into the idea of the vaults experiment. That's an important piece of in-game lore and is why New Vegas exists.
I wonder if the guy in the shadows at the meeting is the mysterious stranger
"You're not stupid! Just...different." It's been pointed out by others that Maximus has the Idiot Savant perk. He screwed up almost every time due to his low Intelligence, but always managed to land on his feet.
One of the writers specifically said that he was thinking of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" when he was writing this.
You guys do talk over important stuff .... recommend doing what other channels do and always leave the subtitles on.
Then we'd be reading the whole time. Mrs. Movies hates subtitles because they distract her and she just reads and misses details in the show, unless its needed for foreign language shows/movies.

All of the vault experiment ideas the board meeting listed off are vaults you can run across in the games, overpopulated on purpose, no adults, etc.
I already knew the Dad would have a darkness to him, the first episode foreshadowed it nicely.
The way he took out the raider, Monty, he did it slowly and didn’t flinch a moment while he was drowning another living being.
Sure, he was protecting Lucy. But if you have even a slight respect for other living beings you’d show some sort of regret or anguish while taking a life. His face was like stone.

Other questions that don't matter as much since the show was so good - if the Ghoul knows the weak spot in the T-60 armor, why didn't he shoot Maximus there in their first encounter in Filly? And what exactly did the target inject into his head that enabled cold fusion? Wasn't fuel - that's just hydrogen. The problem is how to get more energy out than you put in, which means the apparatus, which they already had at the observatory? Hm. . . .
22:24 Barb is not in 31. Bud's personal project is 31, 32, and 33. Barb said she has a spot in a vault to oversee ALL other vaults. So Barb is in Vault 0.
They reference 0 in the Amazon Fallout extras cartoon shorts. It was also in literature about the world. But yeah, Barb nor his kid would be in 31

I don't think the problem with Maximus is just that he's not a smart or charismatic character: plenty of people liked Jayne Cobb in Firefly, after all. But Jayne was _fun,_ and Maximus... is not.

Maximus has ridiculous low intelligence and perception but INSANE luck and endurance.
I agree that Maximus has low intelligence, but I would say his perception is very high. He is a good shot with a gun, and is able to accurately assess a situation. Take for example the encounter on the bridge. He knew straight away that the Fiends were armed, and when they went for their weapons, he was able to take them both out.
"Why did they take over Filly?" Because Filly has resources! Barb (Cooper's wife) would not be in vault 31, the is reserved for Bud's Buds who were junior executives. If you listened to Miss Williams (aka Moldaver) when she was talking to Cooper before she gave him the listening device, she said that his wife's division of Vault-Tec had bought up every company that she had worked for after obtaining her research on Cold Fusion. Later in the meeting Barb got a message on her Pipboy then looked up at the shadowy figure watching over the proceedings and she took over the meeting. My guess is that she is either a senior executive or a division head.
They also could have taken Filly as a forward base for attack on the observatory and/or South Cali in general (in Epiode 1 it looked like the main BoS base was quite a way away in the desert).
The shadowy figure in the attic looked wery much like secteary Eckhart (the founder and the first head of the Enclave in the lore).
On another note I have a suggestion for a new TV Show to watch for you guys. It's an Apple TV show starring Jason Momoa called "See." It's also a Post Apocalyptic World genre and one with an awesome story. I loved it. I think you might as well guys. A lot of decent Canadian actors in it as well (probably because it's filmed in parts of British Columbia, parts of Toronto and Vancouver.
In FO4 I am lvl 71 right now. I can definitely do what the Ghoul did without breaking a sweat if there are only three knights and some cannon fodder (scribes).
Did anyone mention that mom and her "friend" Muldaver moved to Shady Sands together with Lucy? 🏳️🌈 vibes. With her last breath Muldaver says, "we did it" and has kept a ghoul around this whole time, a ghoul with a seat at the dinner table. Yeah, thats love.

So Hank looks about 20 years or so older than when he met The Ghoul all those years ago, so MY guess is that when he was selected to become the overseer, he was thawed out and lived a life that had him meet his wife and have children. He aged two decades or so. But Lee Maldaver was also in Hank's time and she does NOT look 20 years older than she did 200+ years ago. I'd say a good 10 years or so at most. How did she get to be here 219 years later?? Obviously she was on the surface for some time, she lead a gang of Raiders; but was she also a Vault overseer before that??
Oh Hey; Mr. Movies; you asked when did Lucy's mom become a Ghoul right?? Well....what if she was still IN Shady Sands when Hank bombed it?? What if she found shelter from the bombing but got irradiated in the process?? We've seen that there was indeed medicine to cure most any injury right?? hat if she WAS injured and used it on herself effectively becoming a ghoul and then just couldn't get to MORE medicine in time to stop from becoming feral? It's a leap I admit, but it's also a possibility as I see it.

Good job with the series. There was enough clues dropped about The Enclave and Super Mutants to make me think they will be featured in the next season. Would it make sense to do a Fallout: New Vegas playthru if you have time?
When y’all were like, “there’s a vault near us,” I got curious. So I stopped and scrubbed back to see the map. I wondered if maybe there’s one near me, but Barb is sitting so that all of Florida is covered up 😢😂
Ya know, I’ve been thinking about it and I feel like, as long as the show continues to do well, they’re going to have them go from one person who was sitting at the meeting to the next and so on until they have to conclude the story arc-So, I think season two and three will be that, with a season 3 finale being the Ghoul’s family reunion and the start of a new cataclysmic event in the universe of the show that starts off a new story arc. Just my guess, obvi 🤷🏻♀️
I know it's not going to be practical in the show but I'd be interested to know what happened in the rest of the world. Were we unaffected, destroyed or did we have something equally horrifying as what Vault-tec did? That's one thing I love about this show, so many answers but way more questions

Anyway, I was just watching another reaction and just noticed I could see Fla on the map, unfortunately the nearest vault is in Orlando-Which makes sense, (O-Town & Tally are the obvious choices,)-but that means I’d still be a 3hr drive away 🤔 and that’s under normal circumstances.
This show is being considered as cannon in the fallout universe, so - Cooper Howard is Vault Boy, and Vault tech dropped the bombs.
Just like all the others "who dropped the bombs first", we don't know that for sure. We just know they were willing to do so.
I'm waiting for "Odd Billy Todd" to show up next season. Listen to the audio book (Audible) and see...
Loved it, can’t wait for season 2. Wanna see some Super Mutants, Maybe a character or two from New Vegas. (Raul or maybe Veronica) the Legion or Legion remnants (depending on how that whole thing played out.) and hell, Why not House or Yes Man?
