@@ZacBuchananKnives super helpful from a theoretical standpoint. Practically speaking I still need to put in the time and effort, but still... if you'll take a shooting (or archery) analogy: at least now I have a target to shoot and and know how to hit it, it's just the practice now. Thanks again
Yes, I’ve met Steve several times, he is a very nice guy and a great maker. I met Jim a couple times at the CCKS, he was a very nice and genuine man, RIP.
Buffing helps remove excess and gives you a better visual on what you need to remove. There’s a lot of back and forth with these knives, polishing just to mess it up and polish again
That buffer/grinder is the real deal!! That thing runs really well and it looks like it has a ton of power.
Yup, another very good one, with tons of helpful advice about the process that I've not managed to find anywhere else. Thanks so much
You’re welcome. I’m glad it’s helpful.

what solder do you use. Sorry found video. I love your work. I was able to watch a documentary on loveless and you should be very proud of your work.

Здравейте Страхотен нож
Може ли да попитам как да си направя такъв инструмент с който да почиствам памучния диск Благодаря
Buffing looks SCARY!
Fernando Soltero Yeah, you want to stay focused. But as long as you use proper technique and caution it’s pretty safe.
I thought you said blade down for safety.
Zac have you had the opportunity to meet either Steve Johnson or Jim Merritt?
Yes, I’ve met Steve several times, he is a very nice guy and a great maker. I met Jim a couple times at the CCKS, he was a very nice and genuine man, RIP.
@@ZacBuchananKnives that is very cool. I’d never have had the opportunity up here in Canada obviously, but great to hear you did👊👍
Zac good afternoon Would you be so kind to tell me what kind of paste flux or kit you are using it to soldering I would greatly appreciate
It’s a long weird name, check out “how to make a presentation grade solder (pt1)” 5 minutes 32 seconds in. 👍
I see
Would you be so kind to tell me what type of wire do you use for soldering is it silver Stay shine or what is the name of it
why not TIG soldering ? is your soldering strong enough ?
The guard is pinned and soldered. So yes, it will be plenty strong enough for it’s purpose and use.
I’m not sure why you buffed it before you used the brass rod

Great video.....wire wheels are nasty and dangerous can’t tell you how many times they have ripped parts out of my hand
Very true, I only use it for applying “orange peel” texture to Titanium. Thanks for the comment
Should be called how to clean a joint not how to make a solder5 joint
😂👍
