Thank you for your tutorials, they are verry clear. I learn a lot with you. because i'm starting now. I´m 60 years old portuguese woman that was going to Vila do Conde a town near Oporto verry well known for the bobbin lace works. I try to learn with a teacher but she is vacancion at the same time than me! So I start looking for another way of learning and found our tutorials. Thank you once more.
I have wanted to learn how to do this from the moment I first started collecting bobbin lace. No one I’ve ever met knew how or anyone else who knew how to do it! So a huge thank you for making these videos!! Finally, I’m getting somewhere! 💜 Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 😁👍💕
My brain FINALLY fully comprehends! I used to do stitches like this with Embroidery Floss that were really wide. Thank you so much for this thorough tutorial! 😃💖
@@GaliciaBee Thank you! Also, I should elaborate on my comment because I just realized it doesn't really make sense, lol. I meant I'd create super wide bracelets with the Embroidery Floss. Not that it was wide Embroidery Floss, lol! 🤣💖
In addition to being relaxing, this is also incredibly satisfying, and it feels like you are playing an alternate version of a keyboard with the level of dexterity you have.
Just starting classes on this and your videos are so helpful!!! Please continue with the tutorials since some of us are here to learn the craft. Love your videos and thank you 🙏
I appreciate your talking! I need to watch but to also have someone explaining things is so helpful! I do enjoy no music so to hear the sounds of the bobbins is the music so to speak. Many thanks.

It would be GREAT if you would do a tutorial on Milanese lace braids .some of them are too complicated for me to follow from mu Milanese lace book. Seeing them done would help alot. And I could go back and watch again when I got lost. The archway braid is an example.
Hello! I am a beginner and would like to know why you twist twice at the ends. What is the reasoning behind it? Also, how do you know by looking at the pattern which pins have one or two pairs of bobbins? Do you have tutorials on how to read patterns? Thank you for your videos!
Hi I am just getting started learning bobbin lace. I purchased your beginner patterns but you don't say how much thread to load on each bobbin unless I missed it.
I am just learning this beautiful art. I have a question when following a pattern how do you know what stitches to use the cloth stitch or the half stitch? Also on the more complicated patterns how do you know which way to go and how do you know how many Bobbins ‘s to start with? I’ve watched tutorials. I have an idea on how to do the stitches but I’m not sure how to follow a pattern.
Hello! Usually the pattern will indicate which stitch to use & how many pairs of bobbins. On complicated patterns it can depend a bit. We hope for clear written instructions, but when there aren't any, we often need to examine a finished work (or photo of a finished work) to determine how to make a piece. I like to write in the top corner of my patterns how many bobbins I use, so that when I make the pattern again I don't have to guess. The number of bobbins can vary within a piece, but generally speaking, to begin a piece I will look at how many pin holes are along the top of the pattern to determine how many pairs are needed. :)
Hi Sarah, I purchased the beginner patterns that accompany these videos and I'm trying to figure out if my printer glitched. The whole stitch pattern calls for 9 bobbins to start or 6? Or can you do either? Because in the video you use 6.
I noticed you twist the color being woven across. Do you twist the outside bobbins also? (The white pair on the left after weaving the working threads, dark teal.)
so going back as in row 2, you do the exact same movement in the same directions? Not a mirroring of the movement? You didn't exactly go slow "returning" with row 2, and i think that's what i saw?
hey my friend my name is Rick lopez I was wondering where you get your pillow that you working because I have looked all over the web for a pillow so that I can learn this new craft and if you could give me a website that I can a pillow that I can try doing this new craft if you wouldn't mind sending me a website to look up . thank your friend rick lopez

Hi! Do you mean at the end of the rows? You can twist once or twice at the ends of the rows. It helps keep the row in place. Does that make sense?
I need lesson 3 🤣 pretty please lol xx
Coming soooon! :)
I'm not understanding this yet but I'm willing to learn.
this is quite therapeutic; have you considered doing asmr?

6 pairs! :) If you used 9 pairs, you would need to add more pins across the top at the start.
I noticed you twist the color being woven across. Do you twist the outside bobbins also? (The white pair on the left after weaving the working threads, dark teal.)
You absolutely can! I usually do, in order to keep some tension there at the end of the row.
How do you get it off when you have finished does it not fall apart when you take out the pins xx
Nope, doesn't fall apart. :) Stays together because of all the twists in the thread.
so going back as in row 2, you do the exact same movement in the same directions? Not a mirroring of the movement? You didn't exactly go slow "returning" with row 2, and i think that's what i saw?
Exact same movements. 😊
Are there quieter options? This is the first time I'm hearing of this hobby
Why do you twist 2xs at the end of each row?
My cats would find that way too fascinating.
🤣
question, how to close the stich at the end?
Hi! You can end it in a variety of ways! The simplest way is to just tie a knot. ☺
How would you finish this when you are done?
You can just tie knots at the end, with each pair of bobbins. :)

Its looks like macrame same right?
Nope. 😊 In macrame you make a series of knots. I’m not making any knots in bobbin lace, but strategically crossing the threads.
My bobbins constantly unwind, what am I doing wrong?
I wanted to make a lace but nope. I give up. This is incredible but i definitely cannot
