I remember how you used to ask this community for help with ideas for using the wool when prices were too low.... I also remember you declaring that you weren’t ‘exactly a crafty-type person. Well, ain’t it amazing how life can throw some odd twists and turns in your path. Look at you go, girl.
An idea for future launches, related to wool felting….1 pound bags of what filters call “core wool.” I started needle felting a couple years back, but got more ambitious this holiday season and actually taught a Christmas ornaments with cookie cutters class for Christmas Crafts Day at church. Folks had a blast making felted ornaments. As I started making more stuff, I needed core wool - which is washed of lanolin but typically not carded, and may have bits of hay, seeds, or other tiny bits of debris. The bag I got from Amazon looked to be offcuts from belly wool - not beautiful, but for making felted interior shapes, it saves your more expensive roving for the visible exteriors. Knowing just how little the bag I bought had been processed, it was crazy that 1lb of throwaway bits cost $25, especially when that definitely is more than Charlie is paid to shear a single sheep!
@patpierce4854 Thank you for the great info about the types of wool Pat. I tried a little felting a few years ago with a beginner's kit. I really enjoyed it and am planning to have another go, something freestyle perhaps, I will look out for the cheaper filler as core wool.
I remember Sandi talking about the rude comment someone made about Sandi needing to look prettier for her hubs. I see this and think she is gorgeous! What was that rude person talking about??! Sandi is in Great shape, and ROCKS the farm girl fashion! She looks so good for 50! Way better shape than I was at 50 and Id love to be as slim and fit as she is! Wearing the same size jeans as her 20 year old daughter! Just Rocking it Sandi! You’re an inspiration in so many ways!
I couldn't believe that! What woman does that to another woman?! I also remember just recently when Sandi was down for the count and Mark filmed himself doing sheep chores. He answered why he never does sheep chores is because Sandi is a strong woman and doesn't need his help. Obviously Mark is fine with Sandi's barn look.

I religiously watch your channel, even if I have to miss others. You and your babies, both 2 and 4 legged, brighten my day. I am just shy of 60, and have been a farm girl my whole life, and I know about loss of animals, no matter how much you do to save them. That being said, I bawled like a baby today, when you lost your tubed baby. To be honest, I am crying again just thinking of it. Baby lambs, and goats, are adorable when they bounce around and play King of the Hill on their mommas! You work harder at saving every one of your sheep, no matter their size. My eldest daughter (19) is away at university, she is over a 100 miles away and I am missing her so very much. Watching Sandy and Jess together really fills the gap with my daughter being gone and reminds my how much I love and miss her in a comforting way. She will be home for Christmas on the 21st and I can’t wait to to spend time with her, I’m so proud of her. She is studying to get a nursing degree, I thought she would have been put of medical and caring given that she has been a young carer to me most of her life! I’m in a wheel chair and unfortunately have high needs due to all my progressive life limiting medical conditions, my goal is to be able to see her graduate (and her younger sister (16) who fingers crossed will graduate university in five years (she is studying forensic sciences right now and plans to study either that or criminology at university, I am the proudest mum in the world!) I’m doing all I can to live not just the 5 more years but to be able to travel for both graduations. It can be very hard but these wonderful kids are the thing that keeps my going through all the difficult therapy. I see the same in Sandy when she looks at Jess and I see my daughters in Jess.
The Madigan Squeeze! It's miraculous. Developed by Dr. Madigan at UCDavis as I recall. ? I may be wrong. Developed for horses when you have a dummy foal. So glad to see it used in other species
It never ceases to amaze me the way snow looks. May seem strange to say but I haven't been/seen snow in real life for over 30 years. We don't get snow here where I live in SoCal, unless you go to the mountains. Last time I went to the mountains, I was 14 years old. But wow, it looks beautiful. I'm sure it's a hassle but for me, it's just amazing to see. Even more fun is seeing all the babies popcorning about. Climbing on the moms like a jungle gym. 😂🥰
Since I’m new to your channel Sandi, I watched several videos and was so inspired and happy, I had to go back and start the “Sheepishly Me” marathon! It’s Sunday, December 15, 2024 in Texas and I have been watching since Friday. I love every minute. I just retired recently working in Oil and Gas, behind a computer my whole career and boy have I missed out. Only thing doing the Sandi marathon is I went through losing Ruby, Ruby Sue and the biggest and most important Jess’s diagnosis all in 3 days. 🥺😢 Man, that was hard to watch all together. You guys took such good care of Jess and each other. I’m so happy Jess is feeling better. You have a lovely family, hardest worker ever. Lambing?! Wow, so interesting. And, I love reading the great comments from your subscribers. I’m so excited I found you guy’s. Merry Christmas Sandi and to your adorable family. Side note: one of my favorites is you giving treatment in the warming room with the lamb on the heating pad and Piper or Lucy climbs in next to him. Piper: “what about me?” Sandi: “Really?” 😂😂😂 Can’t wait for your next video. Collette ❤😊
I just love your winter intro! And seeing all those little lambs just makes me smile so much. What a great Sunday! Stay wonderful and amazing Sandi! ❤️🐑❤️
Good morning, Sandi❣️ Search lovely and calming music 🎶 well done! I had a bit of melancholy watching you do the advent calendar. Remembering the days and years I used to be able to craft. (sigh, things have changed after nearly 40 years with MS) But it’s easy to perk up watching you and your family! I laughed at your comment about the lambs seeing you as time to eat.😋 Wishing you, your family, friends and viewers a very pleasant day. 💗
Glad you tried it. We saved a 3 day old calf using it. She had NO suckle what so ever.... Used it on a 2 day old lamb who sucked but just barely.... and a Goat kid that was near floppy the day she was born... all Jumped up and ATE and never looked back. My friend that told me about it has saved 3-4 dumbie foals this way!
I know all about Lake Effect snow. I live in Rochester, NY, along the south shore of Lake Ontario, pretty much across the lake from Toronto, Canada. We live in the town of Greece, which is only a mile or so from the Lake shore so we get all the lake effect. We are usually in competition for the most snow with Buffalo and Syracuse. Good luck and stay safe and warm
Gravenhurst got 140cm of snow and lost power! They had to issue a state of emergency which opens up funding for extra services as well as make people take it seriously. The highway was closed for more than 30 hours.
the madigan squeeze is amazing for babies born with intervention (such as a pull even ) to help redo that squeeze process and kick start them. From horses to puppies or kittens, it should work. You dont have to use a rope, if you think of swaddling a baby, its the same, just tighter over the chest and slightly invert the baby, have done this with kittens and puppies and a very small calf (it was premie and had very delicate skin, we didnt want to rope it, swaddled tight, then rope over blankets ) Should be done right away, but might still help a later lamb !
Hi our first snow was in November. We were honored with 30 inches of snow! I’m 79 so I can just stay inside and watch the snow fall 😁😁 I love your time with your sheep and being an old nurse that worked in labor and delivery, I especially like lambing season.
Oh, I hope all the lambs pull through this joint ill. And I'm praying especially hard for the little one that you've been tube feeding. Your new coveralls look warm and comfy. You couldn't have gotten them at a better time... since it appears you've gotten over a foot of snow. ❄️ Blessings to you and the family. ❤
I love the energy and all the zoomies from the lambs. It’s one of the cutest things. They are so precious and you take such wonderful care of them. Each one is special. ❤️
In addition to the Madigan squeeze procedure, the vet developed a loops duffle kit for the safe lifting of downed or cast large animals, like horses. Important to lift at the joints not press the organs. The Loops system information can be found online.
The snow is beautiful. The frolicking lambs are precious. Don't feel bad the lambs get down even with all you do. Those moms and babies are very well taken care of ❤
I know, I know😉 but as I was raised half my life in NY & rest in Tx, I MISS ❄️❄️❄️. So I've enjoyed living vicariously thru The Brocks🎄. It's part of my Christmas that I've passed down to my granddaughters so apologies on my glee at 👀 those huge ❄️ banks🤷♀️. Clarissa, the lamb bottle whistler❣️ The Madigan tie is amazing! For those not familiar, just search & watch the foals, you'll believe in magic✌️🐑 🐏 🐕 🐾 Jess looking so healthy makes me smile💗 Happy Holidays🎄🇺🇸🇨🇱❄️
Anybody else ever 'find' hidden Christmas presents & then have a very anticlimactic Christmas morning? Cured me. Never felt urge to hunt for Christmas presents again! 😊💕💕
By accident once. She forgot where she hid them and asked me to get something. After that every year they was a suspicious amount of things on top shelves as I'm pretty short.
My sister and i found everyones one year when my parent's went out for the day we opened and rewrapped every single one it spoiled Christmas for us both.
My neighbors had a camper in there back yard. So in the fall the family decided to let their entire clan put their kidos presents for Christmas in there. . Some one added but forgot to relock the door. Mom heard squeals of joy from the back yard . Went to investigate and the kidos had the entire camper unpacked and toys opened. Christmas in fall lol
Not sure if you know this or not but you can freeze milk. My friend use to keep a couple gallons of milk in the freezer in the winter months for bad snow days to keep from going to the store on bad days.
Used to live in the Scottish Highlands, when a trip to the supermarket was 54 miles, if you could get out, frozen milk was a must. Sometimes it would separate a little but a good shake when thawed, it was all good.
Look at all those little lambs running around. I could just sit here and watch them all day. We had our first snow here in central and northern New Hampshire on Thanksgiving. Once spring and warm weather comes back I would love to go up and feed the bottle babies.
I saw another comment about jess. And yes, absolutely, she looks so good. We are all so happy to see her beautiful smile again. She has been threw so much, her whole family has so to be able to see them all so happy and enjoying life is sooooo refreshing. And i know alot of people who look up to you Jess for being such a fighter. And for showing us that no matter what gets thrown at us in life as long as we fight and pray we can over come whatever we need to. Your such an inspiration to ALOT of people. LIVE, LAUGH AND LOVE.
If you don't want to send clothes back, you can always take them to a tailor/seamstress and talk to them about whether it would be better to ship them back or if they can adjust them--especially if it's just a small amount or if there is a weird bulge in the front or back. For those of us with big hips, tiny waists, a seamstress can make a HUGE difference in an off the rack fit.
Unfortunately at least in my area Ive for tailors/seamstresses to be cost prohibitive for most items as they typically charge half to more than the cost of the item to do even small alterations as they have flat base fees. So unless it’s for a dress like I wear to weddings or the occasional formal event where the cost is less than purchasing a new item I typically simply cannot afford it for daily wear items. I did recently find a MUCH more affordable seamstress in the closest major city near me…but that’s 2hrs away. So when I go visit my cousin who lives there I drop off a decent amount of clothes, I pay via PayPal once they’re done & either my cousin brings them to me when she passes through on the way to her parents or I pay to have her ship them to me so long as they fit in a flat rate box. Even when I pay to ship them the overall cost is STILL MASSIVELY lower than using my local seamstresses! Like you I have wide hips with a smaller waist and I also have broader shoulders plus large breasts so I end up having to buy bottoms/dresses that typically don’t fit properly at the waist & many tops end up being baggy below my chest. Ive been slowly learning to do simple alterations myself. I know how to sew & do it as a hobby… I make blankets & bags but clothing is a LOT more intricate/difficult!
I’m Soo jealous of all your snow Sandy!! I live on the West Coast (Vancouver Bc) and we get rain for Christmas. Just one year I would love to have a white Christmas!! Thank you for all you do. Your videos cheer me up.
@ obviously ….but for the people that don’t see it often enough it would be a nice treat. I’m not asking for an astronomical amount of snow but enough for kids to play in and have fun and to watch the pretty snow falling and then the calm it brings. But let’s just look at the negative effects 🙄
@@missangie1562 Well, I don’t disagree, when you have to live in it, and how much it causes problems, car crashes etc (especially in my case as a manual wheelchair user ugh, hard to go out at all) and the pain and muscle spasms cold causes). Sure is easy to wish for snow when you’re not experiencing it 🤦🏼♂️
@ there is a negative side to almost everything but that doesn’t stop people from wishing and wanting things even with negative side effects. I use to live in a very snowy place once upon a time Soo I am aware of consequences of snow but is it Soo bad that people who don’t get it or see it enough to want it? I’m not asking for Soo much snow to close the city and roads down. Obviously it causes unwanted stuff but Soo does wind, rain, sun global warming, wars, postal strikes etc etc. I think there is waaaaay worse things out there and wishing for some snow…is not at the top. I still would like to see snow no matter the minor inconveniences it may cause.
A group of us crochet and knit hats/scarfs/gloves and baby blankets/booties/hats/mittens and donate to a local soup kitchen to hand out. We do not put pompons on hats because, even though we make them easily removable and reattachable, people don't and they are a problem in washing machines, we were asked to just leave them off.
You are a treasure Sandi. I really enjoy the little lambs romping around. Thank you for sharing your life. I feel so less lonesome since finding you and your family. God bless.
I love the little baby black one I call at midnight and I love the two brown ones as well and the one that got the black circles around his eyes. I can’t believe how big they’ve gotten thank you for sharing your journey with us from Corpus Christi, Texas.
OMG Sandy! When you said your new coveralls had a zipper at the bottom, I was thinking a zipper for bathroom breaks. Back in my farming days, I would have give anything for a bathroom zipper. 😂😂 Merry Christmas to you and your family! 🌲🎅🏼🫶🏼🐑🎄
Your snow is beautiful but I’m glad it’s way up north and not here. Now I’m older and retired, I’m not feeling the snow and ice any more. Used to love it but now I’m too old to fall. The little brown lamb is so cute!❤❤❤
You are amazing, as always. How you tolerate that weather is beyond me. I remember my first (and last) winter in South Dakota. I can't believe people actually LIKE winter there! One day I was headed to the grocery store. After shoveling snow for an hour, I was too tired to go to the store! I was in my 30's back then. I'm back on the Mississippi coast where we think it is freezing when it is 40F ! LOL Different strokes for different folks. At 76, I'm too old for that snow nonsense. We are at 67F on 12/16. That's what I'm talking about! It breaks my heart when you lose a lamb but I know you always do everything in your power to save them. Thank you for sharing your farm life with us. I learn something new every day. Stay warm and safe! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Mississippi coast.
Gosh it never ceases to amaze me how darn fast the lambs grow! 1 min after birth they’re eating them BAM! They’ve grown 10 pounds (it looks like it) wow~Creep already too~life goes way too fast. I absolutely LOVE the new bibs with zippers! Another smashing video Sandi & Jess. Love to y’all… Nana in Utah 🥰
I think this season of lambing seems more colorful! All the Tunis and spotted 🥰 Mums did a great job this year! My son in law also bought those Christmas lights on Black Friday and they look so good! Great thing about them is you don’t just use them once a year! You can use them for everyday, every holiday, and any special occasion so, they really are economical 😉 love the advent calendar! And it’s nice to see you spoil yourself once in a while Sandi! Jess, you are so beautiful girl! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas 🤶🏼 🎄 It’s a white Christmas for Canada 🇨🇦 we are hoping and praying we get some much needed snow here in Utah USA 🇺🇸
We've used the Madigan squeeze several times with foals up to a week old. It usually works pretty well. I'm so sorry that you have some lambs that are going backward on you. It's just heartbreaking when that happens. 💔 Hopefully, none of the other lambs take a turn for the worst. Your advent calendar is adorable! I can't wait to see it through to the end! Your coveralls always look nice on you. She does an amazing job! Sorry the jeans didn't fit, but the slacks looked great on you. Now you have to get Mark to take you out so you can wear them! I can't believe Christmas is only a week and a half away! I haven't even put my tree up yet...ughhhh I'm such a procrastinator! LOL Stay blessed Sandi and Jess! I love you guys so very very much! 🥰💖🤗❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Sandi, it is always nice to learn new things with you, techniques, and procedures. The lambs are so darn cute. Happy December with you. Your purchases are great! Sorry about the jeans, though. Thanks for sharing.
One of my favorite lamb antics is when they are climbing or resting on an ewe, and their numbers don't match 😍❤️
Every neighborhood has one "cool" mom!
I love that to, there will be about five lambs with different numbers, none matching the ewe and they take turns on playing ‘king of the castle’ 😂
Yea, it's like going to the house of a friend and annoying their mom lol

Best of luck to you that you make it to the graduations in person and hopefully events beyond.
Looking forward to seeing Cinnamon getting into the Lamb Lounge. LOL
😂 me too!
Sending love to everyone reading this, as always, from your friend in Baton Rouge!! 💙
Hello Baton Rouge, I'm from PA...in the country, Lancaster!
Love to you, Sheepishly Family from Banks Oregon.
Love the little tail wiggles, kindergarteners running and jumping enthusiastically. 😘😘😘
Hello!!!! Thank you for caring for people’s wellbeing! The weather is no joke! Glad he got there safe! Love the little wooly monkeys! ❤🥰
Collette ❤😊
Welcome to the Sheepishly Me Family ❤🐑❤
Thank you!
Love the new coveralls. They look like they were made for you.
I just love your winter intro! And seeing all those little lambs just makes me smile so much. What a great Sunday! Stay wonderful and amazing Sandi! ❤️🐑❤️
I still want to learn how to do animation like that!
The lambs are soo cute and exciting to watch. Sandi you make my day with your smiles. And great to see Jess and hear her laugh. Beautiful family.
Oh I love those overalls ! They fit perfectly and they’re not “ clunky” looking. Thank you again for another wonderful vlogmas !
Sandi-"Hello, children!" Baby Lamb-"Hi ya, Ma." 😅
I love it when they’re nursing how their little tails just wag and wag. ❤️❄️⛄️🎄💚🙃
Yes! The rapid tail wagging is adorable!
In two shakes of a lamb’s tail is the expression from years ago!
Good morning, Sandi❣️
Search lovely and calming music 🎶 well done!
My first try was really interesting...PS my thought was what do I have to lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you now feel more comfortable doing it....
I'm sure she'll keep that in her pocket for future lambs. I know she put everythign into this poor little lamb and just doesn't give up.
Love the ending! The clothing size struggles are real. 😢
Hi neighbor! I’m from Rochester, too! East side, though-Fairport.
the madigan squeeze is amazing for babies born with intervention (such as a pull even ) to help redo that squeeze process and kick start them. From horses to puppies or kittens, it should work.
You dont have to use a rope, if you think of swaddling a baby, its the same, just tighter over the chest and slightly invert the baby, have done this with kittens and puppies and a very small calf (it was premie and had very delicate skin, we didnt want to rope it, swaddled tight, then rope over blankets )
Should be done right away, but might still help a later lamb !
So nice of you to send this suggestion to Sandi!
I do hope Sandi see it
Hi our first snow was in November.
Blessings to you and the family.
Love the snow. I am in the UK and the sky been the same colour as the roads for weeks.
That’s how winter looks in southwestern Ohio in the US. We don’t get snow as often or as much as Sandi gets. Once in a while get a blizzard. ❤
I love watching the babies playing .
I watched a fillie being madigan squeesed..it was like a miracle.
The snow is beautiful. The frolicking lambs are precious. Don't feel bad the lambs get down even with all you do. Those moms and babies are very well taken care of ❤
22 minutes in and you have over 3000 views!!! We love to spend time with you on the farm watching those babies!!!
Sunday just got better with a new Sandi video. ❤❤❤
Cuteness overload!!! I love their little voices! so sorry the little one went downhill. You always do your best.
Thank you Sandi. I’ll see you next time. ❤️ ❄️⛄️🎄💚🙃
Im in DFW and it’s a humid 76° today, halfway through December! Our fall foliage is at peak!
The mugs are very cute. The ornaments are super cute. Enjoy Merry Christmas👍❤️
Sandi and babies early Sunday morning! Life is great!
So much snow, we have yet to get more than half an inch. Unusual for Montana.
Worst Christmas ever as a kid when I found Mom”s secret present hideaway. Never looked again.
Actually, I have, in May, found Christmas presents that I hid too well the previous Christmas.
Every time I see those little lambs. The movie “ So Dear to My Heart.” Comes to mind.😊
I totally agree ❣️ However, there are many people who have never heard of this movie. That is so sad.😭
Yay that the feeders are coming out!! I love it when the lambs run round and round and round and round. I want to hold a Little Lamb!!
That lamb with the light and dark brown ears just tickles me! They're all so cute! Love the mugs and beanie hat!
Thankyou. So many don't know this.
Look at all those little lambs running around. I could just sit here and watch them all day.
We had our first snow here in central and northern New Hampshire on Thanksgiving.
Once spring and warm weather comes back I would love to go up and feed the bottle babies.
I love the little tails going when the lambs are eating. So precious. 🥰
Big hips, tiny waists, and short legs!
Here in Wisconsin, we have some nice church ladies who are great at lending a helping hand.
glad she made it home before storms hit
I think that I would not want to go out in that
Agreed. Not safe at all. And even though busy. Always have an ear to the weather reports. Make sure to have the essentials .
Hope the ice doesn't kill your power tonight. Stay warm ❄️
I was so excited to get home from work and watch your video Sandi. You are soooo loved by so many! ❤Blessings from Bristol, Wisconsin ❤
I’m Soo jealous of all your snow Sandy!! I live on the West Coast (Vancouver Bc) and we get rain for Christmas. Just one year I would love to have a white Christmas!! Thank you for all you do. Your videos cheer me up.
I’m in BC, too, grew up in Ontario. I’d love to have a white Christmas!
Bet you would feel very differently if you were faced with all the work and safety issues it brings. The aww its pretty wears of quickly
Watching the ewe and lambs together with my cat a good way to end the day ❤.
Sandi, you were so cute modeling your new overalls. I was smiling the whole time!
Loving the Advent Calendar. Thanks for taking the time to make the crafts. Putting on a good show! Merry Christmas.
I love watching those Dear little lambs frolicking. So cute.
My favorite part too!
Sandi, you have come a long way!Sorry you lost the baby lamb! 😢All of them are so precious!
Sandi, Thank you for putting the Christmas music on your videos. It goes so well with the sheep.
Sandi Sheep and Snow
Now the Christmas season is for real 🐑🌲❄️🌲🐑
Never get sick of the jumpy babies. It always warms my heart. Thanks for your GREATvideos.
I've seen the Squeeze used on foals but never on other animals. Interesting.
💜💜💜
So great to see Jess, you are an awesome mother daughter duo!
💜💜
Gosh it never ceases to amaze me how darn fast the lambs grow! 1 min after birth they’re eating them BAM! They’ve grown 10 pounds (it looks like it) wow~Creep already too~life goes way too fast. I absolutely LOVE the new bibs with zippers! Another smashing video Sandi & Jess. Love to y’all…
Nana in Utah 🥰
OMG, look at all that snow though it is pretty have to say is burrrrrr .
Playing baby lambs are so fun to watch.
I think this season of lambing seems more colorful! All the Tunis and spotted 🥰
Mums did a great job this year!
You are freezing and we are melting. I’m in Australia and it’s our Summer. 🌺. Merry Christmas xxx
I loved the barn hoody with the slacks😍
Nothing cuter than running and jumping lambs 😍😍😍😍😍
Great seeing u and Jess having some together time ❤
The babies that need you to have them with to eat think that you are their Mom!!! I think it is sweet!!!
Good morning Sandi! I hope all the lambs are behaving for you!
In bed recovering from surgery. Your videos bring me so much joy, thank you for sharing your life with us
Oh wow,, just love seeing the little lamb's jumping and playing around,, they make me smile everytime I see them,,
Chic workwear! Kudos to Michelle! Love the subtle gray-on-gray! 💕💕
🎄I remember when you could barely do these wool do-dads 🎄
Sandi, it is always nice to learn new things with you, techniques, and procedures. The lambs are so darn cute. Happy December with you. Your purchases are great! Sorry about the jeans, though. Thanks for sharing.
