In the rounds you needed to be closer at hand (which I said to you at the time). Leading tends to seem slightly quicker on 12. Handstrokes in backstrokes off is the main thing about ringing on 12
+Ashley Monck you knew you were racing away from the first handstroke? I only said something because you'd done it consistently for a few blows, and I know that people used to do the same to me and I listened and took the advice on as I was ringing.
+Jemma Mills Just watched the video again and listened. It did sound like I was starting to go a bit slow. I never really noticed it while I was ringing
+Ashley Monck wonder why they recast them and will the tenor be the same wieght? They are a bit of a mish mash of different bells anyway. I am surprised they simply didn't install a complete new peal like Cornhill. Incicentally my dad installed the old Cornhill peal and he always said they were to heavy for the tower
Ashley Monck I think that is why I like total recasts as it brings a better sense of harmony to the peal rather than a mish mash of odd bèlls. My dad hung the old Cornhill peal and I thought they were a dreadful peal. I must admit that heavy Taylor tenors do sound the best.
Oh god... at 0:11 you can hear me munching a crisp lol.
Lol! 😂
It's quite a loud CRUNCH too...
Ringer Jake Yes Yes Jake it is 😂

I think that happened because I knew I was racing away. I have a strong feeling that this was my first time trebling on 12 :)

surprised how quiet that tenor is ! 🙁
Hang about... the last ring on the bells was when they rang a touch of Zanussi Maximus.
@Jason Burnet What's the so-called "washing machine method"? What a funny name. "Zanussi Maximus"
Trebles going (nonononononononononononono) lol I wonder what happened
I didn’t realise that some people were trying to leave 🤣🤣
when you say refurbishment do you mean a retune and fittings or are they beeing broken up and recast?
The 7th and tenor have been recast and the others have been or will be fine tuned. The bells will also have completely new fittings

I'm not sure of the weight. The 7th's profilings were all wrong and the tenor was too wide

I think a lot of people thought Cornhill's old peal were rubbish :)
