      @Glock laat Je moeder je missen"The Dutch first went to Ghana, one of its earliest colonies in the 16th century and exploited underground mines, mainly gold, there. Thousands of Africans were abducted and sold as slaves to America and Europe from Ghana by the Dutch; they were taken through the Elmina Castle built in Ghana in 1642.
      The colonial Dutch arrived in the coast of Namibia in 1793 and seized the port of Walvis Bay, the most popular port of the country, and slaughtered the inhabitants there.
      The port of Walvis Bay, which was seized by the Dutch, was then used as a slave port.

    Hello german speaker here. There was actually a memeber of the water level and emergency control, who did a very angry interview in our news. He said that there is a servere lack of monitoring of water levels in smaller rivers because the government has not yet invested in them or invested in people that stand and guard in cases of servers weather warnings. Also a lot of power supplies falied because everything is electronical and no longer manual in case of a power outage like we have seen due to the flash floods. The infrastructure to help once disaster struck is very good in germany but there were servere faults in monitoring, prevention, taking the situation seriously and acting to alarm people during the night. Also a lot of people died in their cellar or in the garage because they wanted to save their cars or manage the water levels in their home and drowned because the water levels rose within minutes. If we have learned one thing - don't go after your valuables. Grab your loved ones and get out.

      1 make sure that you have enough non-perishable food, water, flashlight, radio, battery pack, medications, also, if there is a flood coming to your area. Please leave as sooner the better, make sure you have enough clean clothes to take with you and your loved ones.
      2 find a better locations, the big cities are not the safest place for you. Look up on Google for inactive underground bunkers and caves.

    As a Dutchman all I can say is : water management, take it seriously.
    Yes, these are unprecedented floodings, regardless if climate change is to blame or not, doesn't mean you shouldn't plan for it. Nature has given us several warning shots over many years. Excessive water flow needs to be directed to overflow areas. If that's not possible, move out of the danger zone. Nature is not going to make an exception for you.

I would not re-build there as it will happen again.. The water is simply coming up.....Europe will sink into the ocean, according to Edgar Cayse's map. The coastal US will all sink and the Mississippi river will dump the Great lakes into the Gulf of Mexico. I live in Memphis so I will drown ; if it happens in my life time and it may. . We do not live for ever. Organic bodies have a relatively short time to occupy earth, and then, we move on. That is nature.

      I'm kinda having mixed feelings. When huge floods happened in Poland in 2011, Germany sent a "rescue kid" and it was supposed to be essential things donated by German people and when it arrived, it turned out to be just junk (almost empty bottles of shampoo, used underwear, etc), the volunteers reported that it was hard to find anything that can be given to people and there was a huge disappointment... Something like that actually happens again and again that things don't arrive as they should. See donating clothes to 3rd world countries for example. The best is usually taken out beforehand and often only rubbish arrives in these countries.
      That usually has to do with the people in between (forwarding agents, aid organization helpers, etc.) and not with the donors.

They only come to gawk and be useless and maybe give a nice sounding speech somewhere, wich in itself is also useless.
      It's times like these that people's worth truly shows, and as such the only conclusion i make from this is that politicians are truly the money snd power hungry leeches they appear to be.

    We’ve got rain radar, with automated algorithms potential flooding can be detected. There are also emergency broadcast systems on smartphones which can be used. In the UK they kept some old air-raid sirens in regularly flooding areas to warn of danger. Perhaps a combination of these ideas could be used to implement a global flooding prediction and warning system, as these events are on the rise.

    • @jenshep1720
      @jenshep1720 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      germany doesnt really have a network of air raid sirens anymore. some of the older towns and villages do, but its not a very widespread thing and many arent even registered. therefore there isnt a real disaster warning system that uses them that i know of.

    • @Ohne_Silikone
      @Ohne_Silikone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kreis Euskirchen has them in abundance. They are still used to alert local firemen whenever they have to see to an emergency. The thing with this flood is that although there were warnings for problems arising from heavy rain, it didn’t seem to be happening at first. Rain wasn’t even continuous or that much in my opinion, at least Not where I live. The most and strongest rains came at the end, as the land was already saturated. Then suddenly in the evening roads turned into rivers in just two hours time. At least that was so where I live in the elevated part of town, where we only had to deal with local rainwater. I can only imagine how things must have changed in the lower part, where all that water converged with the water from the creek. It was just so very sudden.

    • @linanicolia1363

      The alarms would go off at the very time the water surges.....people still will not get the time to find a safe place. Europe is sinking. Check Edgar Cayse's library in Va Beach, Virginia. His map of the US after the " floods" is pretty amazing......Some people are relocating into the high hills, where flood water will not reach them. He predicted it, as he could see the future. He did not give dates, likely not to panic people.......Psychics never give dates......they try to give warnings, but leave it up to the people to figure it out.

    Nothing much could have been done at the time - quiet small rivers, not much more than streams, became raging vast torrents within fifteen minutes. The huge volume rate of rain on upland hills was the cause.

      Exactly, I've been helping out family in Germany salvaging this weekend. An small and insignificant stream of maximum 1 meter wide changed into a raging river which flooded their house in 5 minutes. No one could have warned them for this.

      That is not true. Look how the dutch people have prevented. They gave the river more room for this flooding. Almost no victims here only flooding

      No nothing could have been done eh? I guess building on flood plains and natural soakaways were no a big enough clue..This is a true testament to the stupidity and arrogance of Mankind..You reap what you sow..
