Luke I absolutely love your content, you're one of the reasons why people don't even need cable anymore. This is highly educational as well as entertaining. I also appreciate the love you have for nature and animals, not only I learn about gear on reviews but you've taught me to appreciate our land, its weather, the resources, etc... If I could go on and on I would, great videos, great channel, amazing attitude. Keep up the awesome work brother.
tehkoalainsurgency Hey there brother, thank you so much for you taking the time to write this. I really appreciate it. Thank you very much my friend. Have a great day. - Luke
I Love The Deer And Especially The Clydesdale Horses. They Are So Lovingly And Beautiful. Human lovers. Thank you Luke For this Trip. Showing Gods Beautiful Creatures And His Beautiful Scenery in Beauty Handiwork. God Bless You Luke❤😊
hi Luke I do enjoy listening to your conversation do you enjoy watching you can’t explain everything and I love your stories your friend Valerie Durr from South Carolina
Those horses are awesome, beautiful animals. Horses are very sociable and are also inquisitive. They are also a very good judge of character when it comes to humans. They know when a human is or has evil intent and when someone is peaceful at heart. I have been around and owned horses and they are some of the most loyal companions a man or woman could ever have. Thanks for the video, cheers
Hey there Rob, thank you so much for writing and letting me know what you think. I really appreciate it buddy. That's why I do it. :) Hopefully by the end of the week I will have another video up. Enjoy New Zealand....amazingly beautiful! A friend of mine just got back and the photos were amazing!!!! Thanks again.
Thank you so much watching, subbing and commenting my friend. Nice to meet you. I can definitely see a number of similarities as you mentioned. Be well and take care.
Thank you my friend. Glad you enjoy it. As for double walled tents, they will not prevent condensation but they will help divert it outside of your sleeping area. Condensation is all about environmental conditions and airflow. Personally I like doubled walled tents over single but they do come with added weight.
What a wonderful video today. What a blessing. Showing us parts of God’s land, that I’ll have never go see. Thank you for allowing me to take this journey with you. God bless you
Hey there, nice to meet you. Thanks for watching and the sub. :) Also thank you for the recommendation. I've been looking at Fjallraven tents for a while now but haven't met anyone that has experience with them. I'd love to hear more about the one you got and your thoughts on it. Thanks again.
Great question! I have been thinking about this as well and might do that with the up coming storm. I was thinking a small pack. Thermal blanket, knife, a bit of food and basically head out into the woods, create the shelter and hunker down. I hope this storm pans out.
Thank you my friend. I appreciate that greatly. I should have another camping video online by the end of the week. :) As for camera: I use a Panasonic v700m and a Canon Digital Elf. I'm currently looking to get something that offers better image/audio quality though.
Hey Brother, Great video. Not only fascinating views, but great tips and information on your gear. I must say, one of the true pleasures of watching your videos, is listening to you articulate yourself without using a million "aaaah's" "Umm's" "whatever" and other verbal diarrhoea. This adds to the professionalism of your presentations. Thanks again for a great video. Well done, Brother.
Luke you make the best videos of this type thats on the yt. I truly enjoy them. Thank you so very much. Your voice is so calming to me and im really in a rough spot and your videos help me hour to hour.
Hey Luke have you ever thought of mounting on of your cameras to a bike helmet Which could be removed easily and held for your normal filming that way you can be faster when hiking you could still remove it set it up to watch you walking away then run back grab it put it on quickly and your ready to roll!
As I prepare for my first hike what I like most about your videos is how you relax. That is going to be my greatest challenge because I just go. Thanks again for great information.
I have to say, since I don't get to go out camping as much as I'd like, watching your videos is easily the next best thing. Like another guy who commented, I usually watch your videos while working, and it's a great way to escape for a bit. Also, it's awesome to see the different stuff you bring along on each trip. Keep it up!
Hey there Lee, how are you my friend? I know exactly what you mean about chains (putting them on the truck, not a bus though). Be well and thank you for watching.
Luke, thank you for such amazing content. I am an artist living in a city in Australia and its hard for me to find the time to get out to the bush. Not only do I learn a lot form your videos, I at least get to go with you on your adventures, which does in some way help me to feel like I get out more than I do. I have viewed pretty much all of your content over the last few weeks while I have been drawing away and its all awesome. Love to see the gear in action too. Hope all is well brother and keep up the good work!
Artzman01 Hey brother, it's nice to meet you. Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot. Keep drawing my friend, keep getting out when you can and be well. - Luke
I bet if you ever get chance to come around port Angeles WA here it has some of the most beautiful camp sights you probably won't want to leave after a night or 2 .
Thank you so much Dee! That was such a fun trip and I can't wait for winter to arrive. Wind drafts under the tent weren't too big of a deal really....the absence of a vestibule is all that this tent is lacking.
If you find a half net, with bathtub floor, you get a dirt floor for half the floor area to use for boots, etc. I had that GoLite Shangri-La: it is very beautiful. I reviewed it, on Trailspace. It was stolen, but it is not your Shangri-La. I didn’t have the net tent insert. I enjoy your videos. I have no talent for making video, myself. 😢
Thank you. I feel like I just went camping. I get a kick out of your videos and truely appreciate the fact that you bother to bring all of us alon, I'm sure its a lot of extra work to handle the camera and then do all thrle editing later. It is very unselfish of you. When you mentioned in the video to be kind to one another that struck a chord in me. Thanks again that was a great little trip and makes me want to get out soon. I hope you have many more good adventures ahead of you.
At the end of this video I was like: wait, don't go! For some reason I got attached to it! I'm from Kuwait and I love the outdoors but the only outdoors we have here is the desert! And one day I would love to go there and explore the woods and mountains. Thanks for a very inspiring video, Brother.
That was a great video, beautiful country even better in the spring. The video Alone in the wilderness was a very good documentry starting with his building of the cabin till his finally quiting due to his age. Thanks
Once the bugs are no longer a concern, I leave the nest of my ShangriLa-3 at home and just use a ground cloth. Drops the weight and bulk while making set up and take down simpler. They're a great tent for wind as long as your surroundings don't require a free standing tent. Love the head room. Thanks for making these videos!
I would have camped down by the snarly tree myself:) cool video:) eat your beans! its going to be windy tonight:):) in and out of the tent:) OH you got a good attitude on life Luke:) keep it going:) and I hope you have a sense of humor:) God gave it to us for a reason:) Looking forward to future vids. john
Great video and nice to view the "whole" trip, too. Years ago I was struck by lightning, and my trips were less afterwards. But I used to go on some awesome treks that I still have memories about. Never give it up, son-- just let the outside world be your oyster and know in your heart that all your trips are worth more than any man made treasure. Enjoy. J.B.
Yeah, for a time I did not want to be outside. The cloud that got me kinda came up sudden. There was no rain with it and it wasn't even threatening. But it hit me(flash) and I was twirling on the seat of my pants, was all wet(not rain), my watch stopped, my hair was freaked out and there was a crowd around me when I looked up. All I remember was that I was sweeping with a metal handled broom in a parking lot and I started hearing this progression of popping sounds up until the big blast. Hey, that's behind me now. I'm okay. Rain or shine, I just go!
It's also very nice that the inner and outer tents can be attached, This is very important in bad weather so the inner tent doesn't get wet the putting the tent up. Very cleaver.
Man, you are so lucky to have such stunning mountains to hike, great views. I know what you mean about the excitement the night before a hike or overnight camp and then enjoying the moment once the tent is pitched, just you and mother nature - great stuff!
That is one beautiful black and white Horse. I would knock that center pole down and get covered in the tent like a fish in a net every time I turned around . LOL
This really is a great tent. Perfect for all seasons. If you live in a drier climate you can sleep without the fly on it and star gaze all night. Sadly my climate isn't like that. Very wet indeed. :)
Great footage and what a inspiration you are to me Luke you make me want and will camp in all weathers and to appreciate what nature has to offer thanks again my friend. Clint uk
I love your tent. Interesting how two nights of little sleep and one night of wild camping equals totally rested and refreshed soul. I hope you can come by one of those Hilleberg Akto tents one day, and camp out and cook in a big blizzard. This is my favorite of your videos so far - thank you.
Hey, nice to meet you too. I've spent only a few night in the new tent, so not so much experience yet. The second night was pretty windy and the Akka Endurance 3 was really good. Very stable. I like the big vestibule and the fact it has two doorways so you can choose which side you go in and out depending on the direction of the wind.

When I want to go camping and can't, I just watch your trips and it almost like being out there my self.
I can't wait for these conditions to return. Thank you so much for watching! :)
I had a very bad day today. But thanks to youre video's, old ( this one) and new, I feel so much beter. Thank you
Thank you so much watching, subbing and commenting my friend. Nice to meet you.
I can definitely see a number of similarities as you mentioned.
Be well and take care.
So glad your daughter is alright. This video turned out very well. Thank you Suzie, for letting Luke stay on this overnighter.
Thank you my friend. Glad you enjoy it.

This was amazing.. between those horses, awesome views.. makes me want to go on a trip right now
Hey there, nice to meet you. Thanks for watching and the sub. :)
Also thank you for the recommendation. I've been looking at Fjallraven tents for a while now but haven't met anyone that has experience with them. I'd love to hear more about the one you got and your thoughts on it. Thanks again.
i love rewatching these early videos and seeing how much all of this has evolved

Love these videos. I’m not a hiker but love being a part of your journey. Thank you.
Haha Thank you my friend. Glad you are enjoying them. Hello from America!
Luke. You are so positive. You are right. Sometimes it's the way things are. Glad you kept video and daughter turned out ok.

Thank you Southern. ;)

Warren Davidson You're very welcome my friend. I can't wait to hear all about your trip out. Enjoy. Be safe. - Luke
I'd love to reply to some of these comments but due to the 'awesome' changes on youtube I can't do that.

Thanks my friend. As for the horses; nope not wild. At some point this year I will take you all to a place with some though! Beautiful spot!

I think they were hoping for a treat... any sugar? Carrots?...what nothing?!!!
I meant cool
This is by far one of the best episodes to play the TOGR "My Friends" drinking game! You never disappoint, Luke! :)
I bet if you ever get chance to come around port Angeles WA here it has some of the most beautiful camp sights you probably won't want to leave after a night or 2 .

Haha Those horses...I don't know the bread but they are HUGE! With the pack I believe the base weight is right at 5lbs for the Zealot 70, small.
I think you like a time in the moment. that's great!!!
Thanks Randy! Be well my friend.
Thanks Luke! We are still antler deep in snow here in the Western Cascades but spring is peeking around the corner at us!
2nd full viewing, now the Autumn (sorry Fall!) is here again, and still awesome. Thanks Luke!

At 4000 feet, the snow's scenic and enjoyable. At 7000 feet, it's putting on chains with mud dripping down in your face. (I drove ski buses over Donner Summit until I retired) . I hate chains, mud and numb fingers. But I enjoyed your vid, and your enthusiasm. Thanks,
