You have a lovely collection! I recently started really getting back into my love of house plants. I found that with all the stress of the pandemic, plants make me so happy! I am enjoying watching each one grow!
Thank you, and awesome idea! I can tell you my jungle cacti mix is definitely perlite and orchid bark-heavy. I'm thinking I might do a video down the road on the different soil combos I make for all the types of plants in my collection.
Hi... new subscriber! I have recently fallen in “plant love” with RHIPSALIS & All Jungle Cacti!! Loved your video! Very informative!! Please do lots more of these Rhipsalis videos...there are not very many out there!! 🌵💚🌵
Hey, I think your video was great! I really enjoyed watching it :) also loved all your lil flags in the soil with the plants names on them, I need to do that too!
I haven’t, actually! I think my schlumbergera (Thanksgiving cactus) has only bloomed once in all the years I’ve had it. 😂 And I’ve only had one other jungle cactus bloom in my care (my lone lepismium). I’d be interested to learn more about how people get theirs to bloom!
Thank you so much for the awesome video! I recently acquired cuttings of Pseudorhipsalis Ramulosa and Lepismium Bolivianum. Do you have any advice on how to root them? I put them in water but it looked like they were starting to rot so I have taken them out and snipped the brown ends off. I know that winter is not the optimum time to root plants but want to give them the best chance! Thanks again :)
Thanks for watching! I really think that using some sort of rooting hormone helps reduce rot, no matter what medium you use. I’m normally a big fan of water propagation but with my jungle cacti I’ve had the best luck with soil or sphagnum moss. And I definitely try to boost the humidity and light for my cuttings when rooting in winter. I ended up building a propagation box for that very purpose.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I appreciate the jungle cacti as well.... the wonkier the better. Do you get many flowers on your jungle cacti?

@@TheLeafyGeek I imagine the bloom cycle is related to the increase/decrease in daylight. This is just a guess though.
Thank you so much for the awesome video!

@@TheLeafyGeek Thank you so much that's super helpful! I will try those tips :D
I find rhipsalis very intriguing. I just began and my first is cruciformes. I cant wait till it is large. Where do you purchase yours?
I acquired my collection mostly from a combination of Steve’s Leaves, Josh’s Frogs, and Pepper’s Greenhouse. I also found a few on Etsy.
