Great question. I had the same question before we built here. In most locations in the Philippines, not all, they do not have a leach field at all. It simple relies on what soaks through the block in the second chamber of the tank. It still is an odd concept to me. I think I will request a clean out within 1 year or 2 years to get feel how full the septic tank is. Where my experience in Florida was 5 years with a leach field. Problem was there was the water table in Florida kept leach field from working as well as it should.
