    Thanks for doing this video! He was a great batsman but an even better mentor!

    I have always believed that Martin Crowe and Richard Hadlee aren’t talked about enough just because they come from an understated cricketing nation of New Zealand.

    Martin Crowe lived up to the spirit of the game.... in a sense, he never really retired from the game, he just retired from stacking up stats....

    Martin crowe

    Most importantly these guys are great humans

    As Brendon mccullam say- NZ is everyone's second favourite team apart from their own country

      @karansiwach2498 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      SA and NZ distribute that equally, I guess.

      @@karansiwach2498 Only dumb idiots support South Africa (barring South Africans of course). SA current team consists of a bunch of hypocritical crybaby chokers who moan and cry when they lose. NZ team meanwhile is good natured and liked by everyone.

    • @karansiwach2498

      @Siddharth South African players are well respected too. We all know they deserved certain trophies, but sometimes luck did not favour them. They did put their heart out in 2015 WC Semifinals, and hence the flow of emotions after the game. Someone who has seen the match will not say such a statement about them.
      I know lot of people, who support South Africa after India.

    • @karansiwach2498
      @karansiwach2498 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Siddharth Nice way to judge illiteracy of a person. I don't remember them doctoring pitches, leave aside the India series . And if you believe that showing emotions on the field makes them crybaby or something like that, then I feel sorry for you.
      Out of context, but please have a look at South Africa's overseas records for the last 15 years and compare.

    • @shubhamnangia2677
      @shubhamnangia2677 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@karansiwach2498 Yeah saw South Africa's wonderful overseas performances recently when they got mauled in India, England and Sri Lanka, losers haven't even won a single ICC tournament. I can guarantee that even Bangladesh will win their first ICC tournament before the Chokers. And you don't watch enough cricket, SA doctored pitch when India went over there in 2010 and 2006 too occasionally, this time they doctored pitches in all matches though. They prepared grass pace and bouncy rubbish pitches for India and slow turning pitches for Australia this year, that's pitch doctoring. You look like one of those South African bootlickers to me, sitting in India but you are licking the boots of SA. That's illiteracy

    Our own #RahulDravid also had mark of Martin Crowe innovative captaincy skills. When asked about from whom he took inspiration for captaincy, he always answered Crowe.😊 New Zealand has always tried to make most out of the individual talents of the team.

    No batsman had a better technique than Martin Crowe. There was Gavaskar, Boycott and then there was Martin Crowe.
    In form, Martin Crowe was simply invulnerable.

  • @jayeshk.d.3429

    I think he brought on a spinner to open the bowling in the 1992 WC. And I think it was the first instance of a spinner bowling in the powerplay. And it heaped rewards too, as the spinners yielded economical overs.

    • @divendughati6114
      @divendughati6114 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Martin Crowe is the man who introduced the idea to open with your hitter by sending Mark Greatbatch to open in 1992 world cup. Then it was used by Sri Lanka by sending Sanath Jayasuriya in 1996 world cup and then Ganguly did by sending Sehwag to open. Even Dhoni made Rohit an opener and also Brendon McCullum became opener. And they all got success in their career after that.

      @@jayeshk.d.3429 sorry forgot about Gilly. Waugh took the risk by sending Gilchrist by opening in that second final of the series in 1998 and everyone knows how Gilly turned into a killing machine after that.

      Also opened the bowling with a spinner in Dipak Patel, in that World Cup. What a player, Captain and person. He did an awesome instructional batting video in conjunction with NZ cricket quite a few years back. I don't know where my copy went and haven't been able to find it since. However it was probably the best batting guide you could find.

    Martin Crowe was the Richard Hadlee of batting for NZ. He was technically sound and highly elegant pleasing on the eye. Probably, the only guy (apart from Richie Richardson ) who could tackle the reverse of W's.
    A master tactician as a Captain.
