Very good point. Redemption isn't really redemption if they just die, that's actually the easiest way out. Vader would have absolutely been executed if he had survived in ROTJ. I personally enjoyed all 3 seasons a lot and it was a great show to watch with my family over the last few years. I never mind the "filler" episodes as they are usually just fun and rewatchable adventures. Funnily enough my two toddlers love the Tech racing episode.
To be fair, the reason for that episode was to give Tech some time in the spotlight before his unfortunate demise in the season finale. He and Echo didn't get as much focus in Season 1, and this episode seemed to be the show making up for lost time.
Honestly you put it perfectly, season 3 was consistently at a good level but never went nuts, whereas season 2 had some very high highs like the Crosshair empire episodes, the best Rex double feature and the crazy finale, and lowest lows, like the treasure hunting episode or other lackluster “filler” episodes
I was surprised that the Bad Batch (the ones that survived anyway) got basically a happily ever after but honestly, I feel like it was nice to have some characters enjoy something like that. Cause in the grand scheme of things, the Clone Wars era/Prequel era or whatever you call it is associated with tragedy. So many characters we've followed from this period either die, become corrupted, are forced into exile, are cast aside with little hope of aid or are forced into a fight they'll never see the end of. I think with that in mind, it's nice that we have at least a handful of characters that can enjoy a nice life after fighting for pretty much their entire lives. I doubt the vast majority of the Clone army was so lucky. Would I have liked a darker, Rogue One style ending with more death and larger scale events taking place involving the Batch? Sure, but I'm gonna judge the final season for what it is, not what I wish it was. Not saying the finale disappointed me, it just subverted my expectations in a good way.

Me and a friend went to one close to the school where we studied back in the day, and we randomly ran across several other friends and acquaitances, some of which I hadn't seen in a long time. It reminded me the Star Wars used to be an event, something special, that it seemed we had lost
I was surprised S3 finished behind S2. Sure, S2 did have a couple of big moments but it didn't hit its stride until well past its half-way point. Before then it had been much like S1. S3 was pretty consistent throughout. Beyond that, it's an interesting comment on the state of Star Wars that one of the biggest moments of S3 was no moment at all. Tech stayed dead.
Season 2 ep12 thru to to the Season finale was pretty epic and hit hard emotionally. Whereas season 3 was just OK but kinda forgetable. Even though I havent rewatched S2 since it came out it stayed with me in memory. S3 ive already forgotten exactly what happened and why because there was no emotional reasonance.
I am really excited to find out what the next show will be. Really hoping for something set in a different time than between 3 & 4, I am starting to get bored of that. Maybe something during the Mando time period or even (and this is really out there) a show focused on Obiwan and Anikin between 1 & 2. I’d love to see a few seasons covering that ten year time period. Some of my favorite books growing up were the “Jedi Apprentice” and “Jedi Quest” books.
The having moments to breathe (or the lack of) is why I 'm not as much of a fan of the prequels. I've always felt that we were just hopping from situation to situation because they had to set something up int the future episodes. Through much of the films, I was wondering why this was happening or what was the motivation for this other character's action. I got a completely different feel from when Luke asked Ben about the Clone Wars in "A New Hope". Episodes IV, V, and VI felt like they moved more organically. This is what I felt with this season of "The Bad Batch". The stories felt like they fit together very well, rather than the mission of the week that we got from season 2. I chalk seson one up to we were just getting introduced to a set of characters, and they writers didn't have a complete story arc laid out. I think the best episodes where when Crosshair was stalking them on the downed - was it a Venator class ship; I can't remember. Anyway, this third season was consistently on my weekly must see list, so much so that I renewed my Disney subscription just to watch this show. Two things stand out; Omega never got to user her crossbow that Echo gave her, and the one off cameo of Visage, though enjoyable and I like the episode, was felt more like "we need to put a hook in there for future stories.". I would have liked to have seem maybe Kanen Jarrus show up, kind of completing the circle seeing as he was the was the one that they originally were hunting before disabling the chip.
My only disappointment was that there was no real continuation of the clones situation with senator chuchi. I really would have loved a last stand of the clones vs the empire. But overall definitely loved this season.
I was surprised that Season 3 was under Season 2, but I see why. The Clone Conspiracy arc are my two favorite episodes in the entire show, followed closely by The Outpost and the Season 1 premiere, Aftermath. I do think Season 3 is one of the best seasons, however, because of it's consistent quality and overall great pacing compared to Season 2 with almost half the episodes being some form of "filler." That being said, as I mentioned before, my favorite episodes are not even from this season, so I can see Season 2 being higher than Season 3 because there were certainly more emotional and exciting notes that hit way harder than anything else anyone was expecting in Season 2 than Season 3. I keep on saying this, but someone dying in the finale would have slightly changed this, even though that episode is still great without a death, and this show on a whole is quite fantastic!

As a season, season 2 did alot better, the 16 episodes had a more clear storyline and progression whereas season 3 was very narrow in story telling and the stakes were a bit lower leaving many viewers with an unfamiliar feeling as if the show isnt finished. By ending the season with saving omega, many story lines feel rushed or unfinished and as such, although season 2 ends on a cliff hanger comparing seasons 2 does feel more complete
I did enjoy all of them. Though two had a bit of a better overarching story. Still, all three seasons trounce most of the live-action shows except mando 1-2 and andor.
I liked all three seasons but the ending should have been done better. For one, Scorch either shouldn’t have ben used at all or reminder of Delta should’ve taken place of those shadow operatives. And the last episode shouldn’t have introduced 3 more shadow operatives in the last 20 min. If there was only the one we saw then he could have had more impact. As what you say about Ventress has told me that foresight is not you strong suite. Therefore, I have unsubscribed not long ago. Of course with so many subscribed to you, this means nothing to you......................
Bad Batch is some of the best Star Wars we've ever had since George Lucas took a shit on the I.P. in 1983. The Clone Wars was a rough ride but it took it's time and Rebels was pretty fucking great if you ask me. Bad Batch is the cherry on top and I can't wait to see what Omega does in some series going forward. You're welcome.
Emperor Cubone and CZsWorld are 2 guys that always show up on the most random channels. 🫡
