This film stands out in hindsight to all the other classic fan films people made of Godzilla back then with just toys. Where it lacked in maybe a interesting fight, it excelled at a short but fitting and well put together narrative, not to mention the care put into effects and the setting like the actual Black Hole Alien, Mechagodzilla’s entry from space, and Monster Island’s look and use of miniature trees to really give the illusion of size like if it was a proper movie set, just naming a few examples. In summary, the film doesn’t master the art of animating a fight with the figures or even use stop motion. It masters the art of narrative and cinematography.
And another plus: it wasn't made by someone who betrayed his audience by doing nefarious crimes (looking at you, Deadzilla. I'm still hurt from your betrayal...)
There are dozens of people who try to make epic figure-based films that egariously show their limitations, but you are one of the few real movie makers.
