- Yep. You've guessed it. The Jag has broken down... again. Is it a surprise any more?
So, what's wrong this time? Well, halfway along my journey to work, she suddenly spluttered to a halt. A quick look at some forums and many came to the same conclusion. A faulty Crankshaft position sensor.
This is my video on how a replaced it. Hope it's both useful and entertaining!

That sounds like you have water in the fuel because the fuel filler neck drain is blocked and the water overflows into the tank.
Thanks Ian. I'm still holding out for it to be just a build up of primed fuel burning off. That's what I think the poppng and banging was when revving. She seems to be running fine at the moment, but will monitor as always. Cheers pal. 😎

20 years of bad brit cars .. get rid of the jag bud, sell and invert the money on the Capri ? Having said that I just spent $2400 on my 2014 V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a 'European designed ' 2 piece driveshaft ! FRIKING Hell, my 1977 Capri had the same two piece driveshaft after the one-piece MkI capri was seen as crap ! No extra money for 2 months !
