These all sound excellent! Great video! And one does not "swig" milk. Chug it, or dunk something in it, but swigging is reserved for stuff you have to be a certain age to buy. 😂
I just watched Sisters for the first time this weekend, great film. Carnival of Souls is fantastic as well. I'd definitely recommend The Others, The Innocents, Cat People, Kuroneko, Rosemary's Baby, Silence of the Lambs and The Phantom Carriage as well.
I love many horror movies from the 60's. I wish they would release the original The Haunting ( with Julie Harris) on Criterion .Carnival of Souls is chilling and wonderful. The Innocents with Deborah Kerr is another gem. When i was 11 i saw the original Night of the Living Dead and didn't sleep at all that night. Kwaidan shakes me up as i think ghosts are the most horrifying supernatural menace ( when done well ). My favorite "horror" movie will never be a Criterion . It is called Theatre of Blood and it has Vincemt Price as an actor dispatching his critics according to Shakespearean themes. It has Diana Rigg as well .
Hello, Jon! I’ve never seen The Haunting so I’ll need to add that one to the list. The Innocents with Deborah Kerr is a classic. Such a good film. Theater of Blood sounds like another interesting one that I need to check out at some point. Thanks for the recommendations!
Hey! I love The house and Onibaba such great films, one of my favourite horror films from the collection is Funny Games (1997). Terrifying but also genius!
Thanks for the recommendations! Carnival of Souls I have seen...not my cup of tea. I do own The Devils Backbone, which I need to get around to watching. A few of The others definitely seem interesting.
Hey, Miranda! Glad you enjoyed the recommendations. I know some of them may not be for everybody but hopefully it’s a nice variety in there for horror fans.
Another great video, James! Can’t wait for that flash sale to pop up! Figured I would keep to the spirit and pick up Cure and La Llorona during that sale! I do hope both will be released before the flash sale Cheers my friend!

@@20thand21stMovies Inspired by your list of course! I hope they get the rights to some new movies that have come out in recent years that deserve to get the Criterion treatment! Appreciate you and your content!
Great picks. I’ve actually only got one “horror” film in my collection and that’s Silence of the Lambs, although I consider that more of a dark comedy thriller
Thanks for the recommendations. Only one of these I've seen is Onibaba. It was pretty good. The curse of the samurai mask wearers was creepy and fitting for Halloween. Once the electricity to my home returns in the next couple weeks; I'll have to give the others a watch!
James, great video. Thank you for the recommendations. I really enjoy your channel. Btw, which camera did you use for this video? I am looking into starting a TH-cam channel too. Again, thank you James.
Andrew, glad you enjoyed this video and you enjoy the content on this channel! I used my Sony A74 for this video and I use my iPhone for some videos (currently the 14 Pro Max). Go ahead and start TH-cam, man. It’s fun and there’s so much to learn and a ton of resources on the platform including Think Media, Roberto Blake, Nick Nimmin, and so many others. Good luck!
@@20thand21stMovies thank you James for the quick reply. I really appreciate it. The Sony a74 is a great camera. Thank you for the great advice. I look forward to your next video. Keep up the great work.

Ha ha, good point about swigging milk, Dell! Glad you enjoyed the picks.

Hey, CrayCrayPancake! House and Onibaba are great indeed. I haven’t seen Funny Games yet so I’ll need to check that one out at some point.
Great pics, James. I would probably add Don’t Look Now as another good Criterion horror pic.
KB, yes, Don’t Look Now is a a good one for sure. I didn’t mention it in the video since it’s currently OOP but it is a nice release from Criterion.
True. I didn’t think about that.

Jacob, yes, fingers crossed we get a flash sale from Criterion. Nice opportunity to buy directly from them before the B&N sale.
Thanks for the recs, ironically enough The Devils Backbone is spine #666 in the Criterion Collection 😊

Great list. I love the innocents on criterion .
Glad you liked the list! The Innocents is a very nice film and edition for sure!
How come “of course my name is James” is now one minute into the video rather than at the beginning?
Ha ha 😂. Hey, sometimes you got to switch it up a little :)
