Slaine is an artist that keeps moving, keeps growing. He knows he's responsible for the music. Over the years, he's progressed in many ways, he's adapted in styles but always kept his own. He hasn't sold out to what the flavour of the month is. And for the record, I can relate to everything he has written, the only thing I can't is getting divorced. I am married with a daughter, and his past songs have really driven an arrow into my heart, my wife loves to sing along as well. I've watch Slaine on movies, I try to tell my work mates to listen to him, and when I do, they compare him to a more rough Eminem. I tell my friends, "he could kill Eminem in any rap". Slane if you read this, I just want you to know, your music keeps us going, keeps us faithful in real hiphop, keeps us hoping we can live long enough for history to repeat itself. Ive listened to this song a lot when it came out. I thought it was two versions of slaine talking, him using and clean. Now i really hear it as three different versions now, my subjection is my own whether right or wrong. Going on, I hear three different voices talking, the first voice (verse) was two voices, him using and his regret that went hand in hand, and the other side of the booth was the realization that judgement didnt work but support would work to help him out. The third voice was the clarity to stop the battle of using and regretful self loathing that often just continues the cycle. Such a deep great song. Slaine keeps getting better!
