    In this episode we look into your Entrance Areas! To keep the episode length down (he says, at 46 mins, lol), we focus on the configuration of your entrance areas, then look in depth at Turnstiles and Ticket offices.
    Today:
    Entrance Area Configuration (what you need in the area)
    Turnstiles
    Tickets
    (PRO) Turnstiles with TMTK
    (PRO) Tickets with TMTK
    This ended up being a combined "how to" video too. It felt like I should be showing you how to do things rather than just telling you about them....
    The series is split into 2 difficulty levels: BASIC and PRO. The idea is that if you are a new player or a console player without access to Theme Maker's Toolkit items then you can still create realistic parks but the Pro's amongst us can sink their teeth into the Pro level and really put their PC's to the test!
    Please consider subscribing if you also like to play Tycoon, City Builders and Simulation Games. There's a lot more videos coming and I'd love to have you come along with me!

      I totally agree.. These sorts of things kinda make an appearance in Planet Zoo with staff rooms, keepers huts etc. It would be nice to have a kitted out admin office, space for staff etc in PlanCo too. I doubt we will see it in 1 and probably not 2 either because it just doesn't create engaging game-play

    Second time watching these through now I’m taking notes like I’m in university, so many great tips! Much appreciated. Question about the park entrance I noticed wasn’t covered…Do you place that at the edge of the map/tunnel and use the turnstiles as a mock entry? Thanks in advance.

    • @Nerdchacho
      @Nerdchacho  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahh awesome question... So, for the most part, yes. The Spawn point and in-game park gates are usually hidden away, so the park guests are already "in the park" by the time they get to the turnstiles. This also means that you can place your food, drink and fastpass units at the park entrance without having to break the game to make them work.. :)

    One tip for you that I've noticed can help. Some keyboard shortcuts could help a lot on moving things, tapping x again in advanced move switches between move and rotate quickly, and spacebar turns angle snap on and off. Also, using the world orientation vs the part orientation can help moving tilted things straight up and down.

    hey there so I have a quick question, where do you put the actual park entrance pieces?

    • @thatepicnessguy113
      @thatepicnessguy113 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i would put them near the guest spawner, doing it at the actual park gate manipulates the paths and makes it look quite strange

    • @Nerdchacho
      @Nerdchacho  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I bury the "actual" park entrances near to the guest spawner in the hill etc. That way, you're not left with unforgiving entrances to work with.. So, the guests are already in your park before they get to your fake entrance.. Means they may buy food and drink when they get there too, making that part more realistic.. :)

    Once again, great video! Thanks for uploading.
    So, in my park I'm going for the record for 20 coasters in 1 park with sizes comparable to a Cedar Point, Magic Mountain, or Energylandia - that's who my park is "competing" with. To do so, I'm breaking up the park into "zones" of up to 3 coasters and up to 5 flat rides and then ample facilities for a total of between 7-8 zones depending on if the two kiddie areas are considered 1 zone. Similar to Cedar Point, these are all custom layouts as well outside of a boomerang and Mauer sky loop so cost isn't really much of an obstacle.
    One of those zones I want to make an indoor attachment to the main entrance building to theoretically have a full zone that can operate year round. This zone would have a Schwartzkopf Quimera or Mindbender-inspired travelling looper, a Gerstlauer 320 inspired Eurofighter (though I am thinking of switching to an El Loco so all ages can ride) and a Mauer Sky Loop. All coaster max out at ~30m but are positioned to have their highest points in the same approximate area for more efficient roofing and the "converted" Warehouse building that houses this zone is sunk into the ground about 2 stories.
    Do you have any suggestions for this from a realism standpoint for flat ride lineup / layout or things to consider when making proper buildings to house a 30m coaster and maybe suggestions for queue / path layouts for really crammed indoor amusement areas?
    Also, feel free to poach any of these ideas if you like them. I personally would love to see you add a traveling Schwartzkopf looper to Fundy Funspot. Seems like something that would occasionally travel through and the owners would put it up as an upcharge ride or something.

      OMG, this sounds amazing! Are you going for a theme in particular?

    • @Couponuser16
      @Couponuser16 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nerdchacho I might be biting off more than I can chew quite frankly haha
      Theme is a North American Amusement Park & Botanical Gardens grounds. I guess the Busch Garden's park are the best example, but even without the semi theming they do and if I can I want to incorporate a botanical gardens perimeter on two sides with entrances into the park. You get admission to one you can enter the other and such.
      It's more supposed to resemble an old family park & garden next to a foothill between the city and mountains with 2 wooden coasters that grew over time after a successful Arrow looping prototype inspired by Loch Ness Monster in the mid 70s, mostly because Arrow HQ was in Utah making it easier since this park is set in the Rocky Mountains. Similarly, they were able to open an Arrow Hyper in the 80s right around the same time as Cedar Point with MXL200 and got in an arms race with CP and Magic Mountain ever since.
