  • In this Scumbria episode we will show a little bit of diving for fresh bay scallops, but mainly this video will be about smoking a bluefish. Despite the color in the end it was a really delicious smoked fish. It's good for eating as is or you can make a dip of it, the choice is yours.     Mmm, scallops!! If I could eat only one food for the rest of my life it would be scallops! Not gonna lie fish looked a little dark, but betcha as a dip it was good.

      nothing is better than a vist to the scrap pile, just half to be careful not to take too much...hoarder alert!

    I liked the scallop footage too, too bad some of it got messed up. Those bluefish fillets were huge! Gotta make them thinner so they smoke faster and you have more surface area for that smoky flavor. Bet they’re delicious anyway. Looking forward to the next video

    @scumbria how do you know where to dive for bay scallops? I would like to give it a shot.
    I was thinking Shallow flats in estuaries. Do they like moving water? Mud bottom?

      look for fresh shells dropped by sea gulls on docks or rocks on the shoreline

    I smoke at 225 for about hour and a half max . My fillets usually look darker I brine with soy sauce brown sugar Bay leaves and peppercorns. What was in your brine?

      we need to bring back the cannon... maybe rig it to a tip up to signal when a fish hits...or something equally fun
