    All good and well but when they get out of school there won't be a job for them since the construction industry is in decline

      Doing what? Justifying their six digits pay cheques with a hope that tax payers will give more for that sort of super "hard" work.

      I hate it when a grown adult has ideas about how children should safely cross the road aye, they don't know the struggle from their position of adult privilege, it's basically Nazism thinking they have any wisdom to impart! Thank goodness our sociology professor taught us how to think critically!

    Criticize the last government as a means to bring in radical change. what you may not have had was the chance to do any chopping .A change in the government may well use the same means of subtifuge ,the law of unintended consequence is always present.Good Sean to see you engaging with Candice owen we do need an introduction to the murky world of influence and control.Supply and demand is compounding the pain.

    my concerns about how our rates are being allocated. As a taxpayer, I am keen to ensure that my contributions are not wasted on unnecessary or frivolous projects. Instead, I would be much happier to see my rates being used for meaningful improvements that benefit the community, such as new pools, parks, or other essential amenities.Stop asking some stupid questions

    • @poerava
      @poerava หลายเดือนก่อน

      The government have wasted millions on their faux ‘efforts to make councils more efficient’.
      They could have just given the councils that money and saved rate payers.

    • @MaxSpeedNZ
      @MaxSpeedNZ หลายเดือนก่อน

      Prime minister has nothing to do with your rates. Don't vote for councilors or mayors that want to waste money on cycleways, museums etc. Councils should provide basic services of infrastructure only,

  • @jonathanotia1619
    @jonathanotia1619 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Sadly this is National, he is right in the sense that there has been a waste of money that has been spent on projects that are no longer viable. Covid did not help and the recession isn't helping.
    If you look globally, New Zealand may be very small in population but larger countries like the USA, England and parts of Europe face the same challenges. and their countries New Zealand-born Kiwis run off to when New Zealand can't help pay the bills.
    I find it sad that there are still issues relating to the Treaty of Waitangi and- it's almost like camouflaging over preexisting issues. What is New Zealand's GDP, and what were our main imports and exports before Jacinda Ardern.
    The Construction industry (all areas including roading, airports and trains) was believed to be at a popular high due to New Zealand's population growth, which made no sense because New Zealand had a large unemployment issue at the same time.
    First, Thousands of dollars were spent on paying foreigners with potential portfolios and credentials opportunities to build that infrastructure are mostly gone. I believe those portfolios and credentials were overly rated for the work that was completed today. Sure there are some nice buildings around but they seem to look empty or have no actual purpose or use.
    It's still strange when foreigners were hired to do many of the medical labouring roles that could have been presented to those already on government support. What even more confusing is the number of certified, and qualified cabinet members who have been caught skimming the system, stealing from their voters and not actually having any real qualifications and experience with the positions they have been given.
    Secondly, why is the student loan scheme still at a high which at times is equivalent to a mortgage on a house? How is it that a young secondary High school student in New Zealand cannot find satisfactory employment and possibly a career after 5 years of secondary school?
    Could it be that secondary high school levers NZQA qualifications are nothing more than random subjects that possibly were taken by students who were actually not guided into any real employment direction or given guidance? I feel bad for the parents who forked out school fees that had no return on the student's ability to find employment. Even worse if you a family on the impoverished side of the social setting your $1000 fees, donations, and uniforms went to who because it didn't go to school lunches/
    What real significance or value are NZQA credits in today's employment market if employers want an experienced person when schools only provide five years of a curriculum that does not cater to any employment market or help with New Zealand's GDP growth.
    The majority of University levers who can't find employment that has a wage or salary that covers their student loan commitments end up moving overseas. Many students who pay foreign fees and have 3 years, 5 years, or 7 years student visa extensions seem to leave also ironically applying for residency and citizenship while they are studying.
    If you want an example several culinary, hospitality, and business providers promote 3-year degrees pop up every 2 years.
