- Well...not bad but suboptimal. This is a bit of pseudo guide video on how to properly play as Mythra to maximize dps and safety with comparisons to the "optimal" critical healing build. I hope you enjoy.

Anyway, I've gotten pretty good at using the sorting options to find things as quickly as I can, but that still doesn't excuse all the room for improvement this game has with regard to navigating the menus quickly and efficiently. Not to mention all the other issues this game has. I love this game, but holy crap, it has issues. A lot of them are tiny and easy to fix in theory, but there's so many of them- when I step back and look at them all- it's like I'm looking at a mountain lol.

Plus the leggings just make too much of her a dark colour, when she's a Light Blade. Doesn't work thematically either.
I don't care if Massive Melee Mythra gives more Crit % than anything else (25%); it's not that much higher than Crit Up VI (22%), and that Aux Core doesn't ruin her beauty.

I tried this same build but with Corvin. You get +800 agility and become the absolute solo killing machine in Alrest. Thanks for your videos. They´re helping me understand better a game that I love and I reached 600h of super fun gameplay in total just by trying out your builds and advices after I finished the game. Just an update since this video.
Since focusing on Mythra's Foresight ability, and using Enel's build, I was able to solo every superboss in the game. Only one that was difficult was the stupid Chickenheart one. I had to quickly build up chain attack meter to kill him. Everyone else was "easy-peasy". It's definitely different, but evasion Mythra is much better than crit-heal
Enel: Don't make Brighid an Evasion build, make her a Crit Heal build

brighid is fine with evasion, she's just great with tachyon chip and she already has built in evasion with judgement. but she can't reach the same level of evasive power of mythra without foresight, she just gets guaranteed evasion with an art usage. Plus Mythra gets a damage boost with low hp and you can't get that with critical healing.
@@EnelXC evasion is apparently bad in challenge mode since it hardly works on higher challenges
@@djay00009 In challenge mode you'd typically also try to use shulk and even more evasion buffs with your agility and at that point only like 2-3 enemies should ever be able to hit you at all and even then infrequently
@@EnelXC bosses like cloud sea king , tyrannotitan still hit even with shulk, mytra and 600 or even 800+ agility. I even tried with shulk, mythra ,even bored ,if shulk or mythra goes down . The tank can also fall pretty fast especially morag. Tora is pretty strong on his own till normal difficulty. It's really hard without any healing i would say .Rex, zeke or nia all are much easier to fall even if tora and morag survive.

Like you, Mythra is my favorite character and I try to use her as often as i can. Although I love the crit heal method, as you've pointed out, i still die sometimes. This is definitely interesting and I'll be trying it out!

This is really interesting. Love the video. If you're looking for content ideas, I know I'd love to see more talking about hidden and lesser know mechanics. Xenoblade is notorious for not telling the players everything, and even tho I'm on my.fourth play through I'm sure there's still plenty of things I can learn.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. No wonder I had so much trouble with my crit heal Mythra! I switched up the build to emphasize evasion (but still with self-healing from crit) and she works MUCH better. And with T-elos and Corvin, Rex's team can really help out with Driver Combos. I don't think I've had as much fun with the battle system til now!

Well I've played around with different builds since my last comment. Everything you said is true for the base game and if you want to focus mostly on Mythra, but in Challenge Mode there are enemies like Immovable Heir Carlos that are so ludicrously fast that maxing out Rex's agility with Mythra and hoping not to get hit isn't very reliable. Spike damage can also wear Rex down very quickly if he doesn't have self-healing or use one of Mythra's two Aux Core slots for Spike Defense V.
You don't play Mythra purely for her DPS, you play her for having a balance of offense and support, to help both yourself and your teammates out with Foresight and Anchor Shot. In a vacuum Evasion Mythra is better, but I find that crit-heal works better with the right support. For example, setting Tora and Morag up for Driver combo locks, and using both Mythra and Elma on Rex to cover each other's weaknesses. Elma can set up Overdrive, has an evasion art and is a superior crit-healer, while Mythra can be used for evasion support and if Morag is being stupid not using Shulk's Topple art.
Also another point if you're in a situation where critical heal does make sense Nia is going to be your better choice over mythra anyways for survivability since Nia heals way more she can heal you from 1 hp to 9999 in a single attack when fully setup properly and with your evasion builds you're practically immortal with Nia built for evasion.

im comically late, but is the massive melee core viable, or can mythra get so much crit by herself its no longer useful
I would definitely not go for abyss mask here, I would probably go for something safer, maybe noise dampener instead just because if you’re not under 30% hp, you’re probably still at risk of getting one hit killed if you get really unlucky. I’ve never thought switching to agility mods and evasion focus, but clearly dodge tanking can be much better than I had previously thought.
hmm this is making me think of trying a build with mythra, shulk, and azami. Control the driver with azami, no extra blades on rex and the other driver, and just sit at 1 hp for the whole battle, taking advantage of all of her enrage effects. Could be lots of fun =P

Hi enel, I have played bout 150hrs into this game and got the dlc as well. Currently doing boc Ng+ but having a lot of difficulties even when my party is lvl50 fighting a Grp of levels 30monsters.
I’m just wondering if I should use:
Fiora + 2 common blade with agi boost (Rex)
Shulk+ 2 common blade with agi boost
(Zeke, nia, morag)
And lastly tora until the end of the game or replace mythra on fiora ..
basically I’m just struggling to survive the boc gameplay so I would need your advises.

Actually you dont need the reflect immunity. You can put something else if you see the words appear below the health bar or see ophion turned purple.
You probably don't but it's a safety net since reflects can be activated mid attack

Trying to recreate this just wondering how your able to keep 1.5 charge on the special and get it back to lv 3 in just 2 arts. Was it patched or am I doing something wrong
It is the item Nano-metal gauntlets, every time you cancel the arts it gives you an additional 44% special charge. There also is a dlc item called the carbon gauntlet, that gives a stronger 54%. This means after canceling 2 arts you got another full level of special. Mythra has an ability where if she crits she can recharge that art or special, so if she specials at any level a level 1 special will be usable right away.
If you focus only on a self sufficient mythra build you are missing on the damage mythra can do
true. I find that Mythra and Elma have good synergy on Rex. Elma justfies crit heal and is a better user of it, and also has an evasion art, can activate Overdrive, and is Dark-type so is immune to Doom. You just need to not resign yourself to use Mythra most of the time, and make good use of both.
What’s the name of the battle skills on the commons that you used to buff mythra’s evasion? Also could you do a video on commons if you haven’t? I know about orb master but it’d be really cool to better understand other battle skills and whether or not to look for them

It's not a battle skill, it's their 24% agility mod (increases driver's agility by 24% each).

Is it possible to make this build in mid game (chap 5) or is the crit heal build better at that stage?
Pentagon chips can be easily obtained around that time and you can get access to some other katanas like theory and aegeon near that time as well that have agility mods. It should be possible around the time you'd get a functioning crit heal build anyway, just make sure you're maxing out foresight.
Personally I sorta do a mix of agility and critical healing.
But getting more power with low HP is sorta interesting as well.
Could you do some poppi builds that aren't 'undefeatable qtpi'?
Maybe test out how they could be as healers or some stuff
Instead of doing 'the best' builds, maybe try out some 'wacky' builds
I gave cressidus and some defense items to rex and he almost never died, bc he had so much hp and defense, adding some healing from nia (as a blade) and the fights go on for way too long xddd
I needed 46 minutes for sea-king ken, bc my team didn't do damage, they just survived
I think you could do so much more with wacky builds than i could, so pls try considering something for the future

Ah, so its an evasion build that maximizes the DPS? I like evasion builds, but was gonna wait till i was done with normal mode to try them out for harder difficulties. Question. How viable can this build be without using commons, or if you wanted to replicate this on a different party member with Shulk's evasion passive (which isnt as good if i recall correctly but is it workable)?
Plenty workable with Shulk. Pair in whatever other party synergy buff you want. While Shulk loses some of the accuracy and evasion, he also offers a party damage buff and a little survivability with Vision, and you can always use both. Dagas for damage and Adenine/Patroka for elemental exploitation are very popular buff blade options as well, Fiora gives the crit rate boost, etc.
Without commons, Rex takes a huge hit to Agility, but Pyra's agility boost from the right core chip and the right Rare Blades certainly still work (Obrona or Corvin, but kind of a waste just to use them *only* for an inferior passive stat boost). Especially for the stuff that needed Evasion Focus active, keep in mind that direct evasion boosts are effectively multiplicative with Agility, amplifying the effect. Generally, optimized commons will significantly outperform many rare blades.
Wait, how come your battle arts are different? Where is the topple with the HP? Can you actually change the battle arts? If so, how can it be changed?

It isn't something that is ever really talked about too much on any videos like these and it most people likely don't think about the fact that there are 4 things they can level up on that screen. I didn't realize that you could swap them till about a month or so into playing, because I didn't think much about anything other than leveling up what I wanted to be using.

all the additive totals I have + crimson headband are really good on mythra. Combined with spamming her level 3 as much as possible gives her a lot of dps.

So dumb question: the Amethyst Chip on Pyra gives Rex +50 Agility. Will that carry over when using Mythra as well, even though Pyra isn't active in the battle?

Hiho, I’m a new fan here! You won me over with your most recent speed run which blew my mind since it took me ~85 hours to beat the story of this game lol.
I just have a couple of questions if you don’t mind:
You meantion using Shulk too, do you get the affinity affect of blades like foresight even if they’re not the active blade. ie. mythra is full affinity and I swap her out for day wulfric, would I still have foresight?
And second, I’m thinking about starting a new game + run of the game once I finish all the side quests and beat the bosses I’ve seen so far, I was wondering if you’d recommend doing bringer of chaos or to avoid it.

You only have foresight if she's active in the party, same with shulk and monado speed. Bringer of Chaos isn't a very balanced difficulty for a new game run but it's probably fine for new game plus.
Active as in being the blade that is currently fighting? If so, how do you stack manado speed and foresight?

Wouldn't Affinity Evade be better than the 30% hp one? And I feel like unless you are going for as fast a kill as possible, the Avant Garde is still a good safety net.
Course the other problem is that you have to use two generic blades to get all that Agility. Which is unlikely to happen in normal play, unless you're going for super-fast kills on challenge fights.
Evasion focus is better because it's higher and being under 30% hp gives you access to lightning buster doing increased damage, which is kinda the main part of her dps (lightning buster itself.)

I guess I just have an issue calling crit healing on Rex "bad." It's just "suboptimal." And I know you addressed that in the video but the title might make people think it's actively bad (like using Godfrey).

I don't know if I am entirely sold on this build without some form of healing in the party. As we saw, your unbeatable got triggered in multiple fights, which is living on the edge a bit much for me (does unbeatable work for just the indiviudal fights in challenge mode or trigger once for the entire challenge). If you really wanted to play it safe, you could dump the abyss masque for a safer item or the crit heal itself. Though facing Elma was impressive and you can't argue with the damage numbers.
That said, Corvin, Shulk, and Mythra without optimizing secondary blades was how I beat elma redux the first time, so this does work if you combine the dodge and crit heal together, for an extra safe strat.
You can raise the agility stat to be slightly higher if you want with the chip on Pyra earlier, I was trying to make it easier to be under 30% hp. The setup is still safer than crit healing in general because it's much easier to get hit by one shot attacks with that method. Unbeatable only triggered in the Orion fight because of my own stupidity also. Remember you get increased evasion under 30% hp and shouldn't be getting hit except by the highest of dexterity enemies, (which teaming up with someone like shulk can help with)
Also if you find yourself losing a bit of hp in some scenarios and don't like being that dangerous, remember that anchor shot also gives health potions
I mean keep in mind this is just mythra on her own, if you just also throw a shulk in there his monado speed will just make you completely unhittable

....affinity down abilities? Foresight only works at max, though I'm not sure if affinity down abilities would ever hit.
not really. If you're still getting hit or don't like living dangerously you can give yourself more agility like in the elma fight and could ditch the evasion focus for affinity max evade. You sacrifice some damage that way but it's still safer and you can focus on dps instead of getting hit and possible reactioned like blowdown or topple or something.
Against the super high dexterity enemies you'll probably want to also use Shulk's monado speed ability to give 40% more evasion.
@@Vonadu That can be ignored once you put a affinity down seal which can easily be down by Mythra alone.
Is it worth to wait to Special IV in battles to end a blade combo?
Mythra's IV takes longer to charge than every blade if I remember correctly (Sacred Arrow charges slower than Burning Sword at least), and it can't be used indoors.

@@groltroxomega Level IV specials usually have a higher damage ratio than a level III, but I'm not actually sure if level IVs have effects (like Lightning Buster's 150% extra damage when < 30% hp). So maybe?

@@groltroxomega I know I'm 2 years late and you probably have this figured out already, but most good damage blades it's better to just do lvl 3 because it's faster, unless you are using the lvl 4 invincibility not at the end of a blade combo to dodge an attack. I think poppi QTpi might be an exception due to the extremely high damage ratio of her lvl 4 but I'm not sure.

Yeah this build isn't working for me.
I'm not in NG+. I don't have the third accessory. I'm working with base game accessories and not DLC. I'm not using Tachyon nor do I have S+.
I have WAY less base avoid than you do, I have to use Legendary Esther Shoes to even get close, while you don't (and yes I have Agility mod Commons on him).
I can avoid for ~5 minutes, but the eventual chip damages KO me.

How did you survive with 1 hp at 10:03 and 12:05?
In New Game Plus, all drivers get an unbeatable passive which is a 50% chance to survive with 1hp when taking a lethal blow
nono, this strategy is bad with enemy that can potentially one shoot you, but other than that it's a pretty good strats

I put my thoughts in my anniversary video. I like Torna a lot as an initial playthrough but it doesn't really have any post game content which is fine. Great game for being a story expansion though.
Enel thanks for replying I loved xenoblade 2 but when I played torna I basically learned more things in the combat in torna I think becuase it explained it all in the beginning instead of telling you thoughout the game and then I found your channel and let’s just say I play the game a bit differently now

You can equip a spike defense if an enemy has dangerous spike damage lol. Still better to use an aux slot than an accessory slot

Ethan Brady what it ends up coming down to is crit heal you’re able to heal through most attacks in the main game, where evasion you don’t need to heal when you’re not getting hit at all. It comes down to whatever preference you end up liking.
