**Update: to get rid of the raw edges, at the beginning you could fold over (and press) the ends of the fabric by approximately 0.5cm or 1/4in before sewing along the length of the tube.
I hope that makes sense, please let me know if clarification is needed😅
Awesome update and great video! Love that you used a soft satin-type fabric because it's waaaaayyyyy better for your hair than quilting cotton.
Absolutely beautiful 🤩 xxxx you are so talented xxx
Thanks so much for the kind words 🥰 I’m just a beginner actually, experienced sewers would be able to see many flaws. But I’m trying to improve myself everyday as I go 😊
@@darahandmadeau you could do with opening up a little online shop as you will do so well with the ladies that wear hijabs and want volume I’m sure my sisters and friends would order from you xxx
@@Itzzara4 Thank you for the suggestion! I’ve never thought of targeting this specific group! I do have a little Etsy shop (linked in description) currently shipping Australia wide and we do have a lot of hijab wearers here.
@@darahandmadeau oh brilliant I will definitely check out the etsy shop and tell my girls this end xxx my sister had really thin hair so she likes volume in her bun under her scalf so with these scrunchies being ruffled they wouid be perfect to add volume xxx
@@Itzzara4 Thanks so much for your support! If you’re after volume, then you should also check out the oversized scrunchies or the double-layer ones, they’re in my Etsy shop too x

สวยมากเลยค่ะ❤
It looks so pretty!!!!
Btw,where did you get the fabric from? And how much of m. is required in total to make this?
Thank you so much 🥰 I got the fabric from a store here in Australia called Spotlight which has everything sewing and craft- related. The measurements are listed in the description section (I can’t seem to copy it)
cute😍One question pleas.
What is the name of the rubber you put inside? What should I tell them when I go to buy it
Thank you ❤️ The one I use is called 9mm braided elastic
😘😘😘
Data eu gostei muito Fátima barradas Belém do Pará
اعجبتني جميلة جدا شكرا على المشاركة وهل ممكن المقاسات بالسنتمتر لو سمحت 💖💖
Thank you! I’ve updated the description section to include measurements, hope that helps 🥰
C'est bon pour ma petite chérie
😍👏👏👏
Hi nice work .... Which machine u r using... Can u suggest any particular model
Thank you! The machine I’m using is Brother JV1400. This is the one I started with and the only one I’ve ever used, so I can’t comment on any other. But I feel that it’s a great beginner sewing machine that is simple to use and meets the requirements of little sewing projects like the ones I do 🙂
Lo faccio bello
😍😇
How many scrunchies do you make in a day?
I’d usually make a batch then sell those, I don’t do this daily 🙂
Does your satin fray?
It doesn’t seem so bad. None of my scrunchies has unraveled yet. I’ve put an update in the description box regarding the raw edges for this style though 😊
The raw edges?
You mean at the end? I flipped it over so the edges are hidden inside. For a more finished look I’d brush the edges over a flame to prevent fraying.
@@darahandmadeau you could fold one cm on each side as the first step. There will be no raw edges
@@karanieli that’s a great idea, thanks!
Que música 🎶 linda.. qual o nome
width of the elastic? pls
It’s 9mm
Linda
Sorry, but couldn’t figure out due to being off center on key places.
Hola me.puedes pasar las medidas por fa en cm
Nope. Hate raw ruffle end. Update video!
I’ve put an update in the comment section. Hoping to do a video update too but currently a little busy.
What width and type of elastic did you use?
It’s called “braided elastic”. I got it from Spotlight in Australia, and the width is 9mm
At least put a binding around the raw edges, this is a beautiful scrunchies, but the finish is way below par.
Please read the update in the comments. I did this scrunchie when I was very new at sewing and had very little knowledge. I only shared what I knew and have been learning since then.
