As someone who uses this ai for singleplayer manhunts. I'll tell you that these things are incredibly difficult to play against. Other than that this was a very good video and is very relatable as well. Excellent video!
But one thing annoying about these AI hunters is that you can lose them way too easily. There's a chance u can speedrun the entire game without encountering it even once until u get to the end
I think it'd be neat to do the same concept, but with a neural network AI that behaves like a player, rather than this "AI" (it technically is AI, but it's only doing what it's told, and can't learn from it's input)
Couldn’t you have used entity cramming to trap it? The AI multiplies on death so you can possibly trap it in an infinite death loop. Although you may lose a single chunk because lag.

If the AI could phase through bedrock by replacing it to go upwards somehow, what if you tried to just trap it on the nether ceiling instead? Theoretically the AI would see the bedrock as blocks it would need to mine, but as we all know, bedrock is indestructible. All you would need is the portal to be on the roof of the nether, and a piece of TNT to disable the portal. Then again this whole idea would probably be thrown out the window if the AI considers the frame itself to be a portal or the AI can somehow magically tear through bedrock.
I think you should try to trap the Wither storm. With the ability to suck up blocks and add to its own mass you will have to be very creative about it. It also has a very unique way to kill it which depending on where you are in the world can take a long amount of time which gives it time to enlarge which is why trapping it would be a good idea.

curious, how would have the AI reacted to stairs made of quickly repeating pistons? I guess it would still think it has a path to reach the player as the stairs are there so its unlikely to build its way out, but the pistons would keep pushing it back to where it came from... and since it force loads the chunk, even the player going away wouldnt allow it to escape

Another idea that came to mind: Baiting the Hunter AI to the Nether, then breaking the Nether Portal, then dying to respawn in the overworld, leaving the Hunter trapped there OR, Baiting the Hunter AI to the Nether, then planting and lighting a block of TNT right before you warp back to the overworld.
It is an AI, because it learned in the past (when the model was being trained). It just isn't learning anymore. According to CS terminology it totally counts as an AI.

The term you may be thinking of is "machine learning" which is a subset of AI and necessitates that the model learns over data.

@@BuffCrystal The trap attempts where it falls into the void don't show it respawning or duplicating. I assumed it would try to spawn it's duplicates in the same place it died, is that not the case? I'm not aware of how the datapack works lmao.
Perhaps the robot cannot respawn in the End and it needs a solid block within its respawn range to land to. It only replaced water blocks when it reached the top of Bubble Trouble 3000. But once the bottom was removed, it fell instead.
